Just ordered a Japanese Marth for less than 30 bucks on Amazon.... I'm out of luck on most of the other "rare" ones for now. I mostly want the Fire Emblem ones for Codename STEAM.
@cyrus_zuo "Amiibo is the most mis-managed product in Nintendo's history and that is really saying something. Too bad too, I'd be happy to buy some, but it's so painful to try and get some I've given up and become nearly anti-Nintendo over the silly things and how incomprehensibly stupid Nintendo has been about them."
You took the words right out of my mouth. I love amiibos but I hate Nintendo for making me love amiibos and making them difficult to obtain. The collector in me can appreciate the situation, but my wallet can't.
I'm having trouble too. I'll just wait and try later tonight or tomorrow. My plan is to get Wonderful 101 with my last bag of coins, but I may browse more. The Smash Bros poster set is tempting, if it's still available.
"On Sunday, the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks will be among the most talented teams to take the field in the Super Bowl. [ever]
According to FiveThirtyEight’s NFL Elo ratings, this year’s Seahawks are the fifth-best team to participate in a Super Bowl since the AFC-NFC merger. And the Patriots aren’t far behind. The average Elo rating of the teams this year is the second-best in a Super Bowl since that merger, trailing only Super Bowl XIII when the Dallas Cowboys played the Pittsburgh Steelers." - http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-patriots-and-seahawks-are-the-best-this-could-be-the-worst-super-bowl-ever/
The article also points out that these highly rated match-ups have also yielded some of the least exciting, lopsided games in Super Bowl history (like last year's game).
I like the Seahawks, but the Patriots are very talented, and anything can happen. It's a toss-up. Hope you all enjoy the game! It should be a good one.
Just got my copy and haven't yet progressed through even the beginning of the game, so thanks for including the detail that these will be available through November.
Loved Breath of Fire 3, 4 and 5. But when I played 1 and 2 I just was not impressed overall. As the reviewer said, they just haven't aged well in comparison to other games of the time. 5/10 sounds about right, if not generous.
Haven't played much Infinity, but I did enjoy it. (Got the starter 2.0 pack, but I had just played Lego Marvel so it was hard to start a new Marvel adventure at the time.) I may have to go back and play some more. Cool story, thanks for the update.
Cool story, my 8 year old has some ideas. He likes to develop games in his head like "Mario's Ninja Adventure". Maybe I should help him write a letter to Nintendo.
Reseller market is inevitable, it's just skewed early in the product life cycle because demand is highest and supply is lowest. The truly rational thing to do is just wait until more stock is available or they release the Zelda New 3DS Standard size or whatever the next exclusive nonsense is. There will always be something else in the future to spend your money on. Nintendo does not disappoint in that aspect.
Sorry to post again here, but I can confirm that it works: you can purchase Swords & Soldiers for 2.99 and it instantly reduces the price on the other games. Fantastic sale, very excited to have a reason to buy Guacamelee and Teslagrad. May even double dip on Steamworld Dig at that price.
I haven't had issues with Citizens of Earth yet, but I'm not very far. Love the Earthbound feel. And one of your first party members is your brother, a postman for FedUPS, so I named him after myself since I work for USPS and look very similar. That game is a bit too real for me
So regarding the indie sale, can I buy Swords and Soldiers for 2.99 (full price) in order to get the other games on discount? It seems like the logical thing since the other games are Teslagrad, Guacamelee, Runner 2 (14.99) and SteamWorld Dig 9.99, Chasing Aurora 7.99. If so, I would probably buy all the games on offer.
@Rezalack I've only played Millennium Girl, but Atlus did a really good job of counter balancing the first person battles by showing the characters in conversation at random points more often, so this leads to more of a visual reminder of who your characters are aside from battle. I have a similar complaint as you about Shin Megami Tensei and their battles (which I found tedious after a while) but Etrian Odyssey keeps it fresh throughout the experience.
I don't expect this to be quite as good as Etrian Odyssey but I'm ready to be pleasantly surprised. I can't imagine passing this one up, and I will most likely pre-order. Thanks for the heads-up on this package.
Great list, I voted Wii Sports Resort only because I already have Radiant Dawn on disc (but that would also be a must-buy eshop release). I'm not familiar with MadWorld but it's nice to see a couple obscure titles on here too.
Bought Kid Icarus Uprising (sold my cart a while back) and Punch Out. Very interested in Teslagrad and Guacamelee for the sale prices advertised on Nintendo's website, but they hadn't updated when I looked on the eshop. I may even buy Steamworld Dig for 3.99 on Wii U, I loved it on 3DS.
Also enjoyed watching this event and appreciated the overall family-friendly presentation as mentioned by @ImDiggerDan
My 8 year old loved it, I think Kaizo Mario World was our favorite but we're going to watch more replays on Youtube. They had a good mix of games and I always enjoy when the commentators do a great job of explaining what we're seeing so we can appreciate some of the tricks.
I understood the title after reading it a couple times, I guess it took a double take. As I already knew that Nintendo was offering games via their website in Europe (moreso than in NA), I quickly surmised what the article was actually conveying from the title. No "misleading" here.... Thanks for another relevant update on Nintendo sales strategy!
Bought this before Christmas at Best Buy with a 5 dollar off coupon I had earned. I have enjoyed the game a lot so far, and don't really mind that it's 2-games-in-1 by design. The value is pretty good, and the physical release is really attractive. The disc looks like an NES cartridge!!!
Bought Attack of the Friday Monsters and Weapon Shop de Omasse (really wanted that one when it came out), already had Crimson Shroud (which I loved). Was tempted to buy Liberation Maiden and Starship Damrey as well, but I don't think they are a style of game that I like. I played Ni No Kuni all the way through, and became quite obsessed with Fantasy Life after it came out (well over 100 hours, hero on all classes). The folks at Level-5 are game crafting gods in my book.
