Kingdom Hearts 3

It’s quite an understatement to say that fans have been waiting for Kingdom Hearts III for a long time now, and it seems that there’s still a long way to go yet until the game is finally in everybody’s hands. Though it is currently slated for a release on PS4 and Xbox One, many Nintendo fans were hoping that a Switch version might be possible given the engine its being developed on and the series’ history with Nintendo handhelds. During a recent interview, Tetsuya Nomura—the game’s director—made a comment that gave Switch owners some hope that it could happen someday, but Nomura has since clarified his statement.

Nomura said that the meaning of his statement became muddled as it was translated into English and then back into Japanese. His point was that the PS4 and Xbox One versions are to be the sole focus of the development team going forward until launch, and only after they are shipped will the team even begin to consider porting the game elsewhere. And although Nomura mentioned the Switch in his initial statement, he didn’t mean it in the specific sense, just that any other platforms may be considered.

What do you think? Will kingdom Hearts III eventually show up on Switch? Do you think the console can handle it? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
