Gamer83 commented on Talking Point: The Increasing Relevance of Kic...:

@DarkCoolEdge

I think it's important to have both. The big games are nice but some of my favorite PS3, Wii and 360 games were the smaller downloadable ones. I will admit that generally speaking I prefer the big budget retail releases but those games take time to make so it's nice to get some great stuff to pass the time between the block busters and that's where the indies come in and sometimes they end up delivering a game that's even better than the one that gets all the marketing hype.

This isn't a 'B' team so that's good, should at the very least be up to par with the other versions but given that the Wii U has the gamepad and a bit more powerful hardware than the PS3 and 360, I expect Wii U to get the definitive version.

Gamer83 commented on Wii U Owners Shunned Again As Warner Refuses T...:

If Nintendo had a competent online service years ago like it should've, this would be a non-issue. Factor in the poor sales for Wii U right now and developers aren't going to be killing themselves to get DLC up for the system. Once sales go up this will change.

Gamer83 commented on Madden NFL Is Skipping Nintendo Systems For Th...:

The game wouldn't have sold well but Madden has never performed particularly well on Nintendo systems. Still a dumb move by EA because even just 100k sales is much better than zero. Honestly, I think MS mght have something big in the works to announce, like a next-gen exclusive on Madden 25, that would explain this.

Gamer83 commented on Rumour: GTA V Has Been Tested On Wii U Dev Kit...:

It would be huge for Nintendo to get this on Wii U, especially because I believe it won't show up on PS4 or the next Xbox. I'm still going with the PS3 version but the more people who get to enjoy this, the better.

Gamer83 commented on Expect Batman To Sound Different In Arkham Ori...:

It's another reason to not care about this pathetic cash-in but hardly the worst thing about the game. Batman has been played by many different people over the years anyway. This isn't changing Sam Fisher's voice actor from Michael Ironside or, worse, having anybody other than David Hayter voice Snake.

Gamer83 commented on Review: Injustice: Gods Among Us (Wii U):

Bought the PS3 version. It's an awesome game, especially story mode, NetherRealm does that better than any other developer in the genre. I still think MK is the better overall game but this one is a nice compliment.

Gamer83 commented on Rumour: Batman: Arkham Origins to Include Mult...:

Lets be real, we all know this isn't a rumor. Another game that doesn't need multiplayer is getting it eventhough nobody was asking for it. The game may still be passable if we're lucky but frankly that is not acceptable after what Rocksteady accomplished with Asylum and City. This will tarnish the franchise possibly beyond repair. Good job WB.

@Tasuki

I don't like to see anybody lose their job but Reggie should've had his role reduced a while ago after some of the stupid decisions the last few years. He's been one of the biggest problems for Nintendo but for some reason the fanboys still love him.

Gamer83 commented on Satoru Iwata Taking Over CEO Role of Nintendo ...:

Good, NoA has been a complete joke lately. This should help massively, unlike others at NoA Iwata is likeable and seems like a hard worker. If nothing else this gives the company a more friendly image (Reggie is an arrogant jerk), hopefully it leads to more and better game releases as well.

Gamer83 commented on Review: LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins...:

@koopakid

Well, I don't have a Wii U but I do own a 3DS and have been looking for a good open world game for it and I've found this one more than able to fill that void. It does have its flaws but it's still a lot of fun to play, I've been enjoying the story and I like having a decent size game world to explore. I'm sure the Wii U version is much better but that's to be expected since it's on a home console.

Gamer83 commented on Injustice: Gods Among Us Release Pushed Back T...:

It's averaging an 85 (360 version) right now on metacritic so I don't know if it has anything to do with game quality and it's arriving on time here in North America so I really don't get this but hopefully they use it as a chance to hype up the Wii U version a bit more.

Gamer83 commented on NetherRealm Had A Tough Time Building The Rost...:

When I played the demo on PS3 I wasn't as hooked by the gameplay as I was hoping. MK 9 is my favorite fighting game since the 16-bit days and I was hoping for a play style closer to that. Still really looking forward to the game though, if nothing else I expect the story to be great.

Gamer83 commented on Rocksteady Confident in Batman: Arkham Origins...:

Like @Peach64 posted, there's no way Rocksteady would bash WB Montreal in the media, especially if it wants to continue working on DC based games, so this does nothing to change my mind. I want to be hyped for this game but I'm just not. This studio is unproven and chances of the game being anywhere near as good as Asylum and City are slim to none. I'm hoping the handheld game shocks me and ends up being good. I like the idea behind it but 3DS/Vita multiplats are always a disaster.

Gamer83 commented on Batman: Arkham Origins Confirmed for Wii U:

I'm interested in the handheld game but I expect it to be very average at best and it disappoints me that it's on the way to Vita as well because I can't think of a multiplatform release for those two systems that hasn't sucked and neither system is going to be used to its potential for this, it's a total waste of the Vita's hardware power. The console game isn't being done by Rocksteady so I couldn't be less interested, which is too bad because Asylum and City are awesome. This is just a weak, shameless cash in. I'm starting to dislike WB quite a bit.

Watch_Dogs and DuckTales are the two I'm looking forward to most. But I plan on getting DuckTales for 360 and Watch_Dogs will be a PS4 or next Xbox purchase. Of the Wii U exclusives, Yarn Yoshi seems pretty cool.

Can one of the Nintendo fanboys here crying conspiracy provide solid proof that Sony is pulling any strings? If not, just stop it. Amazon is recommending video game products to people browsing video games. Stop the damn presses they're against Nintendo!

Gamer83 commented on Square Enix CEO Resigns Ahead of Financial Losses:

SE's best games this gen have come from the Eidos acquistion. Tomb Raider, Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Hitman: Absolution are all fantastic games. Sleeping Dogs is as well. It's a shame their main franchises aren't near as good as they used to be though and even with this restructuring it will probably be a while before it's even considered close to one of the top JRPG developers again.

Gears of War: Judgment
MLB 13 The Show

If I can find a copy, Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon will be added to the list, but I didn't pre-order so I may be out of luck on that one, for some reason stores around where I live get very low shipments of 3DS first party games.

Wasn't a big fan of the GC game but it had its moments. This one seems like a definite purchase when I can put the money together. Already bought 3 other games this month so tapped out on game spending for now.

Gamer83 commented on EA CEO John Riccitiello Resigns:

I never like to see anybody lose their job so I won't be joining those who celebrate this or laugh at it like a bunch of idiots. That said, this guy did make some really bad decisions, it'll be interesting to see if whoever takes over learned anything or if he/she will continue down the same wrong path. The worst idea ever were those in-game microtransactions, that needs to be the first thing to go. If not, then this change is entirely pointless.

Gamer83 commented on Dead Island: Riptide Is Skipping Wii U:

Another high profile game not coming to the Wii U, go ahead and act like it's not a big deal fanboys, but it is. This on top of the lack of DmC, Metal Gear Rising, Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite. But it's ok, all those games are crap and insignificant, they can't stand up to the magic that is a port of a 3 year old game and Lego City.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if he's right about this being the last generation of home consoles in a traditional sense. This industry is changing big time (in some ways for the better, in many for the worst) and Sony, MS and Nintendo will need to change with it.

Gamer83 commented on Feature: Series Reboots That Have Divided Gamers:

@brandonbwii

Splinter Cell: Conviction is a game that gets some criticism but it's not nearly as loathed in the gaming community as RE 6, FF XIII, DmC, Mass Effect 3, Ninja Gaiden 3 and I'm sure several others. I don't know if it's because people just don't give a crap about Splinter Cell or if it's because they actually enjoyed Conviction taken for what it is but the negativity towards that game went away after a month. People are still crying about FF XIII three years later. I agree with @sketchturner, there is a problem and the problem is gamers not knowing what they want. If a game keeps a formula the same we get this reaction 'this is the same thing played 10 years ago, wah wah wah.' If the delveopers change the formula but still deliver a fantastic game such as the new DmC the response is 'this isn't (name of franchise), wah, wah, wah.' It's a no win situation for developers these days and while I agree that many of them make poor decisions, these 'gamers' need to grow the hell up as well and get a clue.

There will be a price drop for sure this Fall, in the meantime hopefully something compelling comes out for the system soon. Lego City looks great but I don't see it pulling me away from Tomb Raider, Bioshock, God of War or Gears Judgement.

Gamer83 commented on Crytek: Crysis 3 Was "Very Close To Launching"...:

It's not the best FPS but it is a good improvement over Crysis 2 and while the game probably wouldn't have sold that well, the Wii U could use any decent game it can get right now. Too bad the companies couldn't make it happen but maybe next time around.
