So just becuase YOU think a child of 8 isn't mature enough to play GTA that is reason enough to break up another family if they let their kid play the game? Even if the kid is extremely well behaved? Even if otherwise the parents are great parents and good, upstanding citizens? Utterly ridiculous.

@rjejr
As a Halo fan, I actually wouldn't mind if of those 3 Halo was the one to get pushed back. I'd still have Tomb Raider, I'd still have Forza and then MS does have other games it can plug in to fill the space left by Halo. 5 is the most important launch in the Halo series since 2, imo. Mainly because of how badly 343 screwed up with the Master Chief Collection. Still, though, even if you take that game out, or Forza or Tomb Raider, the lineup is better than PS4's or Wii U's. Factor in another likely price drop and sales will be big this holiday for the X1.

@sinalefa
The PS4 is selling well but if Sony could actually get quality games out in a timely manner it'd be doing even better. I can't believe that for the second Christmas season in a row (I'm going to give them a pass for 2013 since it was the year of the PS4's launch) Sony is not going to have a major game like Uncharted or God of War available. Just dumb, especially since the Uncharted 4 delay was avoidable if Naughty Dog hadn't messed around with remasters and forced out the original Uncharted team. We've got Bloodborne now which is great, but it is a niche game and after a month or so hype will die down, maybe even sooner. Sony's going to need a sizeable price drop to compete with MS during the latter part of this year. With Nintendo, if it gets Star Fox out and it's awesome, that at least gives Wii U one major release but it would've been great if Zelda U could've made it as well.

It hasn't officially been said that the game won't come out in 2015 so I'm going to hold out hope that it still makes this year. If not that's two of top 5 anticipated games delayed into 2016. Why don't Sony and MS just hand North America back to MS on a silver platter? Neither company has a damn thing for the holidays. MS meanwhile has Tomb Raider, Halo and Forza still with a possibility of Quantum Break or Scalebound to join them.

@Shyguyanonymous

I don't know if it's that alarming. I was surprised at first too but several friends have told me there's actually a decent fanbase for Battlefield in Japan considering it's an FPS and when you look at DQ's overall sales they're not terrible, especially since as you mentioned it's just a spinoff. The next main DQ will probably be a big-time seller.

@Ichiban
Yeah, Japan's had a really nice stretch here for PS4. Even in the U.S. the last few weeks have been probably the best stretch the console has had with DmC Definitive, RE Revelations 2, FF Type-O, Borderlands, the killer exclusive that is Bloodborne and next week, Toukiden: Kiwami. I wish there was more in the way of new stuff but Revelations 2 and Bloodborne are great and should get me through to Mortal Kombat X and The Witcher 3.

All due respect to your opinion, I couldn't possibly disagree with you more about Super Mario 3D World. It sucks? I'd admit I liked the Galaxy games better but of the three current gen consoles, at least imo, Super Mario 3D World is the best game. It's an absolute joy to play. And somebody like you, Nintendo's games have been a bit hit and miss for me and I don't feel the same about the company as I did back in the NES, SNES and N64 days when it seemed like everything it released hit all the right notes. But 3D World is fantastic and I'm sure the next Legend of Zelda will be excellent as well.

As somebody who owns the PS4 and X1 but not a Wii U, I don't think it looks like you guys are missing out on anything great. Never been a huge fan of Game Freak's games anyway (I do respect the company though) but I'd think it could do more than this with the home consoles. Maybe it's cooking up something different for Wii U only that is actually worthy of the studio's name and reputation.

F'ing stupid that it doesn't come with a charger. What about people who may not have a 3DS at all and this is their first one? I'm still going to get the New 3DS XL and it's still an exciting product but this is a scumbag move.

Gamer83 commented on Research Firm's Black Friday Data Shows Wii U ...:

@Gorlokk

Lots of factors but the biggest is price. There were also some great exclusives. Forza Horizon 2 (it's a completely different, more full game on X1 than it is on 360) and Sunset Overdrive are easily 2 of the 5 best games released this fall along with Far Cry 4, Smash Bros. U and Bayonetta 2. The impending releases of FH 2 and SO along with the price cut to $400 made me spring for an X1 back in August and I don't regret that decision at all. Over the next year it looks like things are only going to get better. Quantum Break, Scalebound, Tomb Raider, Halo 5, possibly Crackdown and pretty much any third party game. Expect the surge to continue as long as MS stays focused and doesn't get off track like it did with 360 midway through that console's run. Before the shift to Kinect and other bs in 2010, the 360 was easily the best console of last gen.

Gamer83 commented on Sony: PS Vita Is Better Than 3DS And The Wii B...:

Wow... I'm a PlayStation guy but I'm definitely not one of those corporate nut-hugging wh*res and quite frankly if I were somebody working in the PlayStation division with the way this year has played out, I'd shut the hell up. If it weren't MS' own idiocy things would be going much differently. With the exceptions of inFamous: Second Son and the very niche MLB 14 The Show, none of its exclusives were great, the best one was actually a re-release of a PS3 game. Now, MS has the re-release problem as well but at least we got Forza Horizon 2 and Sunset Overdrive for X1 this year. DriveClub was a fail, people were jumping off the ship left and right earlier in the year and the company as a whole is still bleeding money. The PS4 did have some games worth playing this year but they were all third party multiplats. This isn't the PS2 days anymore, PS4 may be front running now but there are a lot of variables that could reverse this situation next year. What these corporate clowns need to do is zip it, enjoy the success and try to work on ways to maintain it. The exclusive lineup for next year isn't exactly impressive with only Uncharted 4 and Bloodborne seeming worth it. Complacency appears to have set in, and that's never a good thing.

The whole comment about Vita being the best handheld is just too stupid for words. Say you're proud of your product, understandable, business PR, and leave it at that. I like the Vita as well but it doesn't even come close to the 3DS.

Gamer83 commented on Poll: Should Nintendo Follow Microsoft's Lead ...:

The Wii U is still the cheapest so Nintendo doesn't need to do a price drop, but it would be great. I'm a PlayStation guy but Sony has been doing f*** all this entire first year, the only thing that will wake that company the heck up is a big-time butt whipping this holiday from MS and Nintendo. I hope it happens but the hype train for PS4 has so far been able to steamroll the other two and give the PS4 undeserved sales. I bought into it as well, which will never happen again, I waited nearly a year on the PS3 and probably should've done the same or gone longer waiting for PS4.

I'm baffled by the PS4's success at this point and I'm a PlayStation guy. The system has literally nothing going for it though. Both the Wii U and X1 have better exclusives and the price advantage is gone, PS4 has the best hardware but why would somebody in the new market give a f*ck about that when there's nothing to play that can't be found on other consoles? MS shot itself in the foot with stupidity before this gen started so there's that but there's no reason Wii U shouldn't be outpacing PS4.

@JaxonH

I've limited my pre-orders this gen, much more so than last, that's for sure. I still have a lot but it's not out of hand, last gen I was doing what you said you were doing recently, games on 360, PS3, Wii, DS, PSP I'd pre-order anything even if I was only semi-interested. That's not happening anymore. Big first party games like Halo, Uncharted, Zelda, MLB The Show, Forza, Gears or Mario? Those are instant pre-orders, third party games I'm getting more picky. I want to play GTA V on PS4 so I'm getting that, Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain is a no-brainer and this year's CoD actually seems interesting so I've got that. I also have Far Cry 4 pre-ordered because 3 was excellent but after that, I'm a$$hurt enough about what has just happened with the PS4 version of AC Unity, and the way they're crapping on Nintendo fans, that I won't buy another Ubisoft game after that unless I start seeing some big changes from that company. A new leader that isn't a complete corporate tool would be a nice step in the right direction, but that won't happen.

@JaxonH

I'm starting to see stuff from Ubi, just like I saw from EA and Capcom and recently Square, that I just don't like. At this point, the only games I think I can get behind anymore are the first party published ones. You know Bloodborne won't be held back by corporate people accepting MS' $$$ because it's Sony that's funding the project. For a game like Scalebound, Platinum only has to worry about making it for the Xbox One so even if it can't hit 1080p or 60 frames per second, at least we know the game is going to be optimized to the best of the development team's ability. Almost any game Nintendo publishes I don't worry about. But these third party multiplat games, I'm seeing a lot of stuff that bothers me. And MS' idiotic and irresponsible spending on certain things, and silly corporate jerks' willingness to accept that money is getting way out of hand. What really bugs me is it's getting to a point where I'm taking a stand but it's going to mean missing some games I really want to play. I wish these imbeciles would wake up but they won't and they don't have to as long as there are millions of idiots who will lineup outside Gamestop or Walmart for the next Assassin's Creed just because it says Assassin's Creed on the box.

@JaxonH

'Cheating the fans' instantly became a crock when that one dumba$$ admitted they held back the PS4 version to avoid debates that have always taken place throughout the history of this industry (again we all know the real reason but it what it is I guess). Ubiscum doesn't give a flying f**k about the fans, least of all on Nintendo consoles, that for sure. A few months ago the company announced Watch_Dogs was the last mature rated game it would publish on Wii U. Discussion from Ubiscum regarding the Wii U should've stopped there. Lame quotes like the ones given in this article don't help matters. The company-wide gag order needs to be issued today.

@MrGawain

Yes, after the news that the PS4 version of AC Unity has been scaled back to 'avoid debates and stuff,' (we all know MS slipped 'em some $$$) I'd say stop talking is the best advice that could be given out to everybody at Ubisum right now. In fact, if anybody working there has a single functioning brain cell, a company wide gag order would be enforced today. Regardless, between this bs, and the bs going on with the PS4 version, there's really no reason to hope for any success for Ubiscum unless you're an Xbox fanboy. Since that isn't me, I can say I'd have no problem seeing this game fail. It won't of course, but I've cancelled my pre-order, I'll put the money saved towards a game from a company that cares about delivering quality.

Exactly my thoughts. It's a nice little promotion for the fans, yet you get some clowns who of course have to go and try to ruin things. Yup, I completely understand this view point because as much as I want to play it, I'm doing the same thing in regards to Rise of the Tomb Raider. I have an X1 and think it's a great console and I don't blame MS for trying to get exclusives or timed-exclusives but for SquareEnix to shaft the fanbase that bought more copies of the TR reboot on both PS3 and then PS4? That's bullcrap. Here, Revelations started and sold best on 3DS, so there is literally no justification for Nintendo gamers to miss out.

If Capcom is in as deep sh*t as everybody says then they probably need help with funding bigger projects (like MS helped with Dead Rising 3). If that's the case, I don't care which of the big 3 funds the project as long as Resident Evil Revelations 2 turns out to be legit because I loved the first and would love a sequel. But if MS is funding it and it turns out to be 360 but not Xbox One that will be an incredibly infuriating decision. The 360 has a huge userbase so fine, put it on that and I have a 360, I could buy it, but it would seem utterly pointless to leave out the new console.

The Halo Collection is a little different because even with Halo 3 and 4 in there, 3 is already close to 7 years old and 4 adds value to an already nice collection. To me if Sony really wants to 'welcome back' people who skipped PS3, I'd say an Uncharted Collection with all 3 games remastered would be a better way of doing that. Much more value there and the third Uncharted came out in 2011 so while recent it's not like it was just one summer ago either.

Gamer83 commented on Sony: PS4 Is "Welcoming Back" Wii Owners Who S...:

I honestly believe the people in charge of the PlayStation Division have completely lost their damn minds. First you have this clown Yoshida constantly kissing Nintendo's a$$ (which is fine if he likes Nintendo but you work for Sony, how about providing people who bought your console games rather than constantly praising the competition?), saying he doesn't understand people who want to play AAA games on their $400 machine rather than indies and remakes and you have Andrew House and others saying Xbox 360 owners, and now apparently Wii owners, are coming back to PS? Unless they want to show their research that proves these statements (and they won't show it) than I look at this as nothing more than justify the constant remakes because there is nothing else. Nintendo's entire first year of Wii U pissed me off as well but at least Nintendo didn't bs the hell out of people, Iwata admitted that it was tougher to make the transition to HD than the company anticipated. Still a weak excuse if you ask me because after 2010 the Wii had nothing worth of note from first parties besides Skyward Sword, but at least it seems a legit reason. Right now though, the only company with a guy in charge that I have respect for and that I think is doing a good job, is MS, which made a brilliant decision putting Phil Spencer in charge. Ironically I have the PS4 and the U, not the X1. That's going to have to be fixed soon because the X1, at least for what I like, seems to have the most on the way from now until 2015 ends. It's a good thing for Sony that third parties seem to be putting their best efforts into PS4 versions of games right now. That will change at some point though, just like things eventually evened out with X360 and PS3, and once that advantage is gone, Sony better have its first party act together. No more 'remasters' not more main focus on indies. Those can still be released but they can not continue to be positioned as THE reason to buy the console.

I'm 31, I've been gaming for a while and grew up on Nintendo consoles, I also know plenty about the company's history. That doesn't change what I stated. The majority of PS4 sucks comments, that I've seen, come from the Nintendo fanboys, a few come from the MS crowd. Fans on all sides are equally close minded dbags. The last time I remember things being tolerable was the 8-bit era and honestly I was too young to really make a call on how bad things were then, but I imagine not bad since NES was really the only game in town. The 16-bit era it was a friendly rivalry, my friends and I all had our preferences but we could play games on SNES, Genesis, even TG16 and be happy as long as the game was good. Things got bad around the 32-bit era. Nintendo fans are pissed Sony came in and stomped all over their turf and still haven't gotten over the butthurt even though Wii outsold the PS3 easily last generation. It is absolutely pathetic. And so no mistake is made here, I think it is equally pathetic when the Sony and MS slaves say Nintendo provide nothing but kiddie games. All 3 groups are a joke, none is better than the other and the gaming industry would be better off if they'd all learn to shut up and just enjoy what they have. But that will never happen. People would rather argue over nonsense.

Just saying I wouldn't be counting on MS to go away. Also, it's an unfair generalization to say all Xbox has is 'violent' games, but I'm not going to get into that because here at NLife, if it isn't Nintendo it's trash.

Aside from 3DS... horrible. And if Mario Kart 8 can't get Wii U selling into the 25K-30K range consistently what will? And Sony can forget about it in regards to PS4, it's a Western-focused console with minimal games over the next year, maybe longer for that audience. Sony would be better off, if it has the money, to consider going toe-to-toe with MS in China than focusing on Japan because clearly it isn't going to sell there. And in regards to MS, the Xbox One pre-orders have actually been really good in Japan, and I expect a nice debut, but like PS4, with a Western-heavy lineup what happens after that? I'd like to think things turn around there but man, the console market seems pretty much dead in Japan.
