Nintendo really dropped the ball when it came to effectively communicating the core appeal of the Wii U, and the result was consumer apathy. Thankfully the company hasn't repeated this mistake with the Switch, which has received more effective promotion and bumper sales.

However, while Nintendo's marketing efforts have vastly improved this time around, this short clip by YouTube channel Юзя is perhaps the best advertisement for the console yet seen.

Running at just under three minutes, "Banana Switch" takes a first-person perspective on using the system, with the action beginning in an apartment but soon moving to more outlandish locations; towards the end, the player is shown sky-diving while his character in Zelda: Breath of the Wild does the same.

As well as being a remarkable feat of filmmaking, the footage perfectly illustrates the key appeal of the console: you really can play anywhere, with anyone.
