Limited stock has been a serious problem for Nintendo in recent times. With boss Satoru Iwata yesterday revealing the New Nintendo 3DS hardware was held back from an earlier release in both North America and Europe for this exact reason, this only added to the ongoing troubles fans have had acquiring the popular amiibo figurines since they landed on store shelves late last year.

The production issues today continue with Nintendo Australia notifying its loyal Club Nintendo members via email that the Super Smash Bros. premium double disc soundtrack has had a delay in production and will now not be dispatched until April 2015.

Dear Club Nintendo Member,

Thank you for registering Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS as part of the Super Smash Bros. Club Nintendo Promotion.

Due to a delay in the production of the Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS & Wii U: Premium Sound Selection double CD set, this item will not be dispatched to you as originally planned.

Originally planned for dispatch from the first quarter of 2015, the new dispatch timing for the double CD set is planned for April 2015.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this delay.

Sincerely,

Nintendo Australia

Whether this is related to a wider problem or not, the delay of this anticipated soundtrack which was able to be claimed for free by registering both Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for 3DS on Club Nintendo comes at an unfortunate time.
