Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is utterly thwarting its competition with nearly 2 million physical copies sold, even with new Sony-system titles being released thick and fast such as the acclaimed The Evil Within. Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS drops down a good number of places, but this is largely due to the fact that those above it are all new releases with the exception of Monster Hunter.
Animal Crossing: New Leaf rears its head once more at number 18, and once again Mario Kart 8 is the only Wii U title on the charts, much in the same way as last week, which is a pity. It's at least encouraging that this amazing title is still in the charts after being released so long ago.

In the hardware department, the 3DS LL (XL in the West) shows continuing signs of stability, although the standard New 3DS dips a little more, but that's to be expected the weeks after a system's release. The other 3DS systems are slowly dropping in number, which is hardly surprising given that there's a new, vastly more advanced system on the market now.
The Wii U drops even further, but thankfully recent figures show that it's not all doom and gloom for Nintendo's latest home console. With Super Smash Bros. for Wii U just around the corner, we'll likely see an increase in sales soon.
See the stats for yourself, last week's sales are in brackets.
1. New 3DS LL – 59,386 (60,348)
2. New 3DS – 21,281 (29,341)
3. PlayStation Vita – 12,230 (8,761)

Love me some MH. Fingers crossed for a bundle with the new 3ds.
Yeah..I don't get why the Wii U's dipping like that, though.
I still prefer MH for Wii U.
The hunt continues!
Though I gotta say I'm shocked how well Tales of the World sells - I expected japanese Tales fans to have higher standards...
Bring the top selling console in Japan is like being named the world's tallest dwarf. It's sad how unimportant that market has become considering how dominant it was for such a long time. The top seller doesn't even break 40k a month, and that's nowhere near enough to support a console. Japanese publishers either have to make their games with the west in mind, or go mobile.
@VolcanoFlamesNL -
Wii U is probably dipping for no reason but if you want to have an optimistic outlook you can hope the consumers are waiting for the MK8 bundle announced a couple of weeks ago that releases Nov 13, same day as Captain Toad.

SSBU isn't out until Dec 6 in Japan so they're in no rush.
@VolcanoFlamesNL Third party support = gaps in the lineup = abridged momentum.
MH4U doesn't seem to be doing so well. Expected it to be at almost 3 million by now.
@AVahne Eh? Nearing 2 million for an original & expansion release?
At least it will get a sequel, while many others won't
@Punished_Boss_84
Eh, Portable 3rd managed to get 4 million sales in its first month, though I guess some people still associate MH with Sony. It'll probably do at least as good as MHFU.
@Blast
Yeah I was hoping it come to Wii U also, just like the last one. It sold decently, and that one was an upgraded re-release. This game hasn't been available outside of Japan yet.
@VolcanoFlamesNL WiiU has been dippin in Japan for a while, buddy. Minus sort-of the PS4. Consoles are down in Japan.
If you add up the sales of all those 3DS systems it's basically obliterating all other systems combined. In fact, at a quick glance, I think the New 3DS LL is doing that all on it's own
The Wii U on the other hand
I dont know if the nintendo fusion is just a pipe dream (it probably is), but if nintendo found a way to merge the portable and home markets they would absolutely clean up
@Morph yeah I think they might just have to make 'fusion' next. Home consoles are just not as popular as they once were.
On a side note, I think Microsoft will be pulling out of Japan after the one, they are shocking numbers for a new system. Would love to see the weekly numbers for Europe and America too. I'm sure ps4 would be at the top but where would WiiU and xbone be each week.
Man that console sales is very depressing.
Mario kart 8? Amazing? Whatttttt
Japan with their high taxes is killing their own economy slowly... Sad
Wow, those are the lowest I have seen Wii U sales, I was liking it when they were averaging 8,000-10,000 a week.
Its Monster Hunter 4g mot ultimate. (Sorry to be that guy)
So yet another week of 'why aren't console games stronger in Japan' when Japan IS showing sales, just not for Nintendo titles.
Which makes perfect sense. Zero new Wii U games since Bayonetta 2.
9 brand new games in the top 20.
The initial sales push is the strongest.
It's just how it happens.
The fact that Yokai Watch, YW2, Smash, MK8 and DQ Online are in this list at all speaks volumes of their lasting appeal.
A pity because no one bought Bayonetta 2 or Hyrule Warriors or that companies like Namco, Konami, Square Enix and Capcom don't support the Wii U and Japanese gamers are simply following suit?
