Topic: What Do You Think Of The WiiU?

Let's see: Nintendo games in glorious HD. Way better online system than Wii. Comfortable ,light and innovative controller. Backward compatibility with Wii games and accessories. What's not to like about Wii U?

Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

You could say the same of PS4 and Xbox One. Only a few interesting games, with a lot of promising titles around two years after launch. Their heavy hitters like Batman, Uncharted 4, the Order, Halo 5, etc. won't land until 2015, while a lot of the third party games that are being released before that will also get/are getting a PS360 version.

Overall I am very happy with my Wii U, and as can be implied from the previous paragraph, I won't be getting any of the other two until 2015 or even 2016.

I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.

Rayman Legends and Nintendoland are incredible local multiplayer games, but there isn't anything single-player that's justified the gamepad.

Lego City: Undercover, Zombie U, etc?

I really didn't feel like ZombiU was a good game at all, and looking down at the gamepad was just a menu. The Last of Us did the same kind of thing.
Lego City: Undercover's gamepad use didn't exactly have the same "wow" factor Rayman Legends did when it came to its use. It had a "that's neat" feeling. It didn't really invigorate any new life into the Lego games for me.

It's cool if you found their uses refreshing. That's great. But it just didn't do it for me.

Best thread ever

You are right, there isn't actually so many games for the other consoles as well. Well then, I guess it's just that most people prefer the other consoles over the WiiU. I happen to love the WiiU, and the new games coming out for it. I don't plan on getting any of the other consoles for a decent amount of time as well. Because i'm more developed into the WiiU at the moment. But I guess it's just based on preference really to why the WiiU isn't selling as much as it could be. I'm sure there are many other reasons, but I'd rather get into it. Thanks for clarifying some things I forgot and left out.

Awesome system with a bright future ahead of it. Ridiculously fun for those who have played it, easy target of criticism for those who haven't. Definitely a console you need to experience first-hand.

II think it's a great system. I bought mine this year when Amazon dropped the price of the premium pack to £179 mainly to play HD Zelda. By comparison i had also bought a PS4 just after Christmas and it is gathering dust at present, the Wii U is getting used far more with games like MK8 and Donkey Kong TF. The games revealed at E3 look fantastic as well, so I'm glad I bought one.

I just picked up a Wii-U last night after not touching a Nintendo since I switched to PlayStation 5 years ago... I really like it so far... its nice to see Nintendo using HD... Playing Mario in HD is a hoot!

can't wait till more JRPGs come out.

In my country it currently seems very hard to find any Wii U units as well. The Mario Kart bundles seems out of stock just about everywhere. A few places still have NintendoLand bundles and Mario/Luigi bundles.

Sweden. Some mail order stores here still have the Mario bundle, but very few stores. Hopefully that's just an occasional unbalance of the stock in the stores.

Or just people starting to realised that the Wii U is a new console and not just an extra peripheral for the Wii?

I'm loving it so far, and after e3 for the first time I feel like there's going to be more games than I can handle.

everything's good and it'll be that way forever!

I do hope it gives me some more reasons to avoid wanting another console though. Getting Evolve would go a long way for Nintendo...(note Xbox 360's online is paid so even though I think its on that...not paying for online again like that)

Same here. I really like the Wii U. So much fun and easy to use. All we need is better 3rd party support.

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

I was wary of getting a Wii U but I've been pleasantly shocked at how fun it is. I just enjoy playing it a lot more than the XB1. Its an incredibly underrated system that is turning out to be quite a gem for those who do own it. I don't know many unhappy Wii U owners, and those who criticize it generally have never tried it.

Those who are unhappy with it probably bought it for the wrong reasons- you pretty much have to like Nintendo titles, even tho it does have a fair amount of other stuff too, it's just that it's not getting any of the next wave of third party stuff. Or, if you are disappointed in the graphics, then you probably should just go PC. I've had a blast with mine and can honestly say it has improved my quality of life
