Square Enix is charging 20$ more then other consoles for this game on WiiU. I will grant them that the graphic have been upgraded for the WiiU version and maximized for the gamepad but here are the reason why we should not support this game:

First - This game was schedule to be release on WiiU in May 2013, but we had to suffer a 6 months delay for them to work on the Xbox 360 and PS3 version.
Second - The WiiU version cost $20 more then other console version.
Finally - As a remake with Gamepad control exclusive to WiiU this game was worth $50, but now it's simply a multi-console port of a 2 year old game.

3rd party always complain that Nintendo console owner don't support their product but sadly for them we're just informed customer that won't stand for lack in quality and price gauging.

you're kidding right? Do me a favor. Sell your console, walk out of whatever dungeon you're in and get a life. Console owners like you make me want to quit playing games.

Yeah screw this. I owned the original and bought this today and its amazing. It is the definitive version of this game. The gamepad is what makes it great

You only hurt yourself by not buying and supporting the developer. Play the games you want to play, buy what you want to buy. Odd that no one really raised a stink over Wind Waker HD being $50, but "gosh darnit, a publisher made the game cheaper on other platforms, that I may or may not own, and that I need to own an expensive second system (vita) or overpriced tablet(surface) to get the same experience I will get right out of the box on the Wii U."

Yeah I don't get people like that. I will get the game when I am ready to play it, which will benefit me because it will probably be cheaper by then.

I say if you never played it and they have a demo and you like the demo, support it.

I think the main gripe people have is that everyone is looking forward to new stuff. I've already had plenty of chances to buy this on Xbox 360 or PS3. I realize it's the definitive version, but I just can't justify buying this over basically anything else coming out that's new. Maybe people that only had Wii(very few) or huge fans of the game will still make this port a success.

I'm not sure about you guys, but I don't have that much money anymore, so I prioritize which games I buy to the maximum. Even COD Ghosts has my money over this, which I'll PROBABLY be buying. I can hardly even buy games I want anymore, because my funds are almost depleted and I'm unemployed.

It's not even about being supportive. The people that don't care about this game aren't going to be convinced by the "be supportive" proposition. It doesn't work that way. The OP thinks no one should buy it. I personally don't care. I would buy it if I could(in otherwords, having more money), but I'll be buying another game instead.

If you aren't interested in the game then don't buy it. The "be supportive" stance is for those interested but feel they are being ripped-off. You aren't being ripped-off the company wants you to play their games but needs to justify the risks. That could mean a higher price, a cheap port, or even a later release date. The point is if you want a game but don't want to be "ripped-off" in the future then support the companies you want more games from.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I see. Sometimes it just seems like people are giving suggestions to buy certain things even if the person they're suggesting to doesn't care. It's just like the "no soliciting" sign.

I don't want to hear about stuff I don't care about, and people don't like to hear that either. Hopefully this makes sense. In a way, this thread is just as pointless to suggest otherwise.

What's with this new trend with boycotting games just to get back at the devs. To me its really a useless approach to a problem. If some people stop buying certain games and only a small few do buy it, to a Dev, they think its just poor sales and therefore they stop producing games. C'mon and think of a better way then boycotting when all its gonna do is hurt us in the end...

That being said Square Enix not supporting Wii U is no loss because they won't be here by 2016.

If the directors cut wasn't out on other consoles, would people still moan about it being $50? That's the price it originally launched on other consoles too. You shouldn't have a problem paying that because its a great game. Why should they charge less? They decide to put it on other consoles, but they can't launch at full price. The target audience already bought it, and anyone who didn't buy it has already decided it wasn't worth their money, so they have to make the re-release cheaper or there will be no market for it. They're aiming for people that only have a Wii U, because if people already have a 360 or PS3 then they'd probably buy it on those consoles regardless of price.

Wii U owners are getting a new game.

PS360 owners are getting DLC and a major patch.

If you can watch this...

and tell me it's not worth the asking price, there is something wrong with you.

I'd even go so far as to say it's the best use of the gamepad to date, with being able to notate maps, and leave audio logs for friends, among other things. I was floored by that video, I'm buying this game A.S.A.P.

I bought the original game when it was $60. It was one of my favorite games of that year.

Now, the game is coming to Wii U for $10 less, and it's an even better version.

If you're a Wii U owner who hasn't bought this game yet, go get it. It's fantastic.
