Final Fantasy VII

After the greatness that was Final Fantasy VI (III) FF VII just didn't impress me. I didn't like Cloud he was way to whinny for my tastes I didn't like Sephioroth or however it was spelled he was just the stereotypical villain IMO. The story was to drawn out and boring yeah. IMO they were other RPGs that gen like Suikoden and Legend of Dragoon that were far better but sadly only FFVII gets all the hype.

I was profoundly disappointed by Skyrim, which is surprising because I already expected it to be not much good after playing Oblivion. They made even less worthwhile quests (They are so boring. All of them. Side quests. Main quests. Fetch quests. Why is there nothing fun to do?), the leveling still feels super borked, whether it's the level scaling or making sure you don't use the "wrong" skills and level accidentally. Magic has less variety than before, combat lacks any sort of depth, most dungeons are really similar and really linear, the economy is made so that merchants either sell nothing you want or have no money to pay you for stuff, and the inventory system continues to be a way to annoy you during exploration. Also, the towns are too small and filled with weird uncanny valley people.

And somehow, people think it's the greatest thing ever.

Final Fantasy VI

I find it hard to find much to like about this game. The story doesn't feel particularly unique or well-done like so many say it does. I'll admit it was impressive for its time, but at it's time stories were at their bare minimum. Plus I'd argue that FF4 and FF5 had better stories overall, and don't even get me started on how much Chrono Trigger outshines it.

I don't like the graphical style, but I'll contend that it comes down to taste and there were areas that were technical achievements for its time.

I guess the only thing I liked was the music. Everything else sucked. The gameplay was scattershot, frot with glitches, excessive mechanics, exploits, and pointless minigames that often felt shoehorned in so Squaresoft could show off. In fact, that's probably my biggest poblem with the game: It feels less like a cohesive game and more like a tech demo meant to show off. I suppose you could say that about FF7 as well, but it wasn't nearly as blatant or haphazard-feeling.

Pretty much all the Wii U games. Still haven't found a game worth buying the system for.

not a one eh? what do you play?

I play 3DS games, PS3 games, and PC indies.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

If I didn't offend you with at least one of those games I'll need to dig deeper into my list of games I don't like.

A couple more:
Final Fantasy 7
Super Mario 3D Land (Like this one more than the others, but wasn't a favorite)
Super Mario Galaxy (Maybe I was just burned out from the first one, but the first didn't catch me like the second did)
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (Liked it, but again, didn't really catch me)

I'll come back with more later. I want to see how big this list gets. I hope not to offend anyone too badly, but if I don't offend anyone I'll be a little disappointed.

Wait a minute...haven't we already had plenty of threads like this?
Why does Nintendo Life keep these? It only brings negativity, and meaningless arguments that are mostly supported by opinions only.

Ooh, I forgot, any Sonic game. I just never saw the appeal of a game where you have to race to the finish as fast as possible within a platformer.

Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F

Justlink

Phantom Hourglass (Lots of hatred, but people who started Zelda with it loved it)
Links Awakening
Super Mario 3d World 3ds
Most Mario games in general
Most Need for Speeds
I've never really liked Mario, and the irony of that is my parents usually buy me a console with a Mario game

Do you like videogames? If so, you must know
It's dangerous to go Alone.

Red_XIII

Phantom Hourglass
Gone Home
Shadow of The Collosus (The original, the ps3 version is amazing)
Half Life (Love 2)
Dark Souls 2 (1 is my all-time favourite game)

Have you ever considered...you know, ignoring these threads and not reading them because you don't have to read them. Mindblowing idea i know

That is the only point of a platformer. If you are not playing it as fast as possible you are not playing it right. (Anything that interferes with that like collectables shouldn't be in at all).

SMASH BROS (64 and Melee)

I only posted this to get my avatar as the forum's thumbnail.

A Link to the Past
Skyward Sword
Smash Bros 64
Smash Bros Melee
Mario Kart Double Dash

I didn't own a GameCube, so after playing the Wii iterations of Smash Bros and Mario Kart, it felt incredibly lacking to go back to Melee and Double Dash. I also didn't play SSB64 until the VC release, and disliked it for the same reason. Skyward Sword I tried to love, but I never got into it and found it really disappointing. Link to the Past I bought because of the hype, and I'm sorry but I just hated it.

Final Fantasy 7 - I fell for the hype and was shocked that so many people were buying it. I was a geeky enough gamer to tackle a JRPG but most of the people buying it were more into FIFA, ISS and Actua Soccer than proper games. Everyone I knew bought it and nobody played it beyond the first disc. Not sure where the love for it comes from. I'd rather play any of the other SNES Square RPGs than FF7. The FMV loading made the game unplayable to me.

I've never been interested in that aspect of a platformer. For me I go to platformers for the combination of platforming challenge, exploration, and occasionally combat. That's part of why I consider 3D Platformers infinitely better than 2D ones (with the exception of Kirby, who is all about the combat).

And really, it just never looked interesting to me.
