what are games that you don't like, but other people do?

Mine has to be this Untitled This was probably my least favorite Dreamcast game. Sonic to me felt like he was always slipping on ice, and the less said about Big and Amy the better.

Untitled This isn't that much better. i hated treasure hunting, go-kart racing and i didn't care for Tails and Eggman's levels. Plus it has a stupid plot.

Chun Li is a cute character for an interpol officer.

I like the movie Independance Day because of Will Smith.

Titanic was a pretty sad movie.

Mario Kart Double Dash. If you ask me, it's one of the worst games Nintendo EAD has ever designed. The concept was really interesting, and it's what got me to buy the game at full price, but it was executed TERRIBLY. Giving each character a special item pretty much strips the item diversity away. This is made even worse by the fact that items like the triple shell, which were accessible to every character in MK64, were made exclusive. It also meant you may have to choose characters you didn't particularly like to get decent items.

The Double Character system is also done poorly, in single player it has almost no profound impact on the gameplay, and in competitive multiplayer, it makes what seems like a large roster incredibly small, as every player must select 2 characters, making the race to pick characters annoying. This is made even worse by the fact that you could be stuck with a character that had a crummy item.

The Co-op is awful. One player pretty much does everything, and the other player is given the small role of throwing out items.

The only saving grace of the game is that it had the best Battle mode in the franchise.

Currently Playing: Okami, Paper Mario 2
Currently Watching: Arrow, Batman Beyond, The Flash, Gotham, Star Wars: Rebels

Haha and I love Sonic Adventure. I think it's probably the best Sonic game (although I've yet to unbox Generations). But I'd agree it has many flaws.

I'd second Double Dash as well, that was probably my least favourite Mario Kart. On top of that:

-Chrono Trigger. Just don't understand!!! Really basic characters and really basic plot. As I've said in another thread, I think Chrono Cross is better in every possible way. Living in Europe, part of the problem was that we never got a proper release until the DS. But we didn't get FF6 either. And I think that's incredible.

-Minecraft. I really appreciate it's existence and I admire that it kind of started a new genre of games. But I really don't see why it's that fun. I could happily play for an hour or so but some people play it every day of their lives! It feels a bit like gambling to me, I'm just too aware of how it's manipulating me into constantly continuing.

-Bravely Default. I felt that the reviews for this were far too generous. Granted, it's aesthetically pleasing, has a beautiful soundtrack and nearly perfect battle system. But it's a JRPG. For me, the most important parts of an RPG are the characters, the story and the world. Bravely Default is set in a completely lifeless world that tricks you into thinking it's epic. It's not, there are probably less than 100 people in the entire game and there's absolutely nothing to explore.

Converted from Sony to Nintendo during 7th gen and never looked back.

Haven't played chrono cross yet, but Trigger is easily one of my top games, if not my favorite game ever. The combat works, the story is good, with some twists, but nothing that complex. I'm almost done (finished the sidequests) and the best part of the story is the subtlety of it at times. Like, for example, when you get to the dark ages for the first time, you have no clue what is going on. But as you talk to people, you gradually figure out what is going on and have a few guesses as to who the "prophet" might be. It just has so many nice touches for a game that old, like what happens at the trial. You would never expect a SNES game to be that complex. Did you do the sidequests at the end? They added a lot to the story.

And while the story of BD was a little lacking, the battle system was one of my favorites and made the last 3rd of the game fun, despite the repetition. And, while your characters might not have been that complex, the villains got more and more complex as you moved from world to world near the end. Not to mention that it actually makes grinding fun. And I agree, the soundtrack was superb. But you are right there, it could have used a lot more exploration.

You should have said "any popular game that isn't 1080p 60fps." It's practically your catchphrase. :P

The whole damn Assassin's Creed franchise. I probably hate that more than the COD franchise, because at the end of the day Call of Duty is mindless fun, and well designed games that don't pretend to be anything else, despite the few die hard apologists claiming it's "hardcore". Assassin's Creed tries to trick you into thinking it's this epic storyline, when in reality it's incredibly lazy writing, that suffers from tropes and stupid plot twists. Combat is boring, you don't care about the characters, and the climbing/parkour controls are super annoying to deal with. It's monotonous and I didn't enjoy the games until AC IV. I barely enjoyed that one.

What I couldn't get over with Super Mario Galaxy 2 is how they were inspired by Super Mario Galaxy, but not the full polish of the entire package that is that masterpiece. The absence of a story, similar to the library where we learned about Rosalina, is a huge letdown in my opinion and prevented the game from really developing itself apart from Galaxy aside from being stripped down. The presentation in the game is borderline lazy. I don't know why they decided to go with bland world maps with random space backgrounds to replace Galaxy's presentation of stages on varying orbit paths that resulted in a visual not too unlike a solar system. The title intro for Super Mario Galaxy 2 really annoys me too, "Super Mario Galaxy woohoo." I felt like the criticisms of SMG2 being just a Galaxy expansion, SMG 1.5, had been completely validated in the first few seconds. Call the sequel by it's actual name in the game not what it failed to be. Overall, I thought Galaxy 2 made a clear case for why gameplay isn't all that matters in a Mario platformer, but then came all the praise. Galaxy 2 is the reason why I don't want a Super Mario Galaxy 3 unless it goes back in the direction of Super Mario Galaxy, where presentation and story have more value.

You are so right. It just lacked the originality of the first and didn't have any fresh feel. People asked for another expecting the same amount of innovation, but it came up lacking

Pretty much all the Wii U games. Still haven't found a game worth buying the system for.

There are no stupid questions, except for the ones that are.
Bergmite, Piloswine and Snover safari.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.
