The 3DS is reminding me of the virtual boy a bit now...
This...
That thing looks absolutely chunky... I'd have to carry around a bag with me to accomodate my 3DS and that hunk of plastic... why can't it just slide on to the right hand side rather than enveloping the whole console? It looks butt ugly! And with the new accesory the touch screen looks absolutely MINISCULE! And where is this suppose to plug into for it to work?!
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
I think that it would be more comfortable than everybody is thinking but I can't get over the fact that I wouldn't be able to use the charging cradle... I'll still buy it though, why? 'Cause I'm a Nintendo fan
that add-on is BS. iif monster hunter relies on it, it can stay on the shelves.
i was on a high knowing MH was coming on 3ds, then it all broke down when i saw this...ugly...huge apparel. i hope it wont be a thing that future games will want to rely on, elseway i will end up selling the 3ds. enough BS already ! next thing we know is that we will have a monthly fee to use games online. like... the 360 did. stupîd 360.
@Samholy By the looks of it the touch screen can be used for camera control although some clarification would be nice.

I think it looks a bit uncomfortable I was hoping that the circle pad could get below the face buttons, instead of having a big side sticking out of it side.
I kinda want to use Pixelman's method of MH on 3DS.
I don't even mind using the d-pad to control the camera (considering you can tap the screen to automatically face the big monsters).
This way, I can use the dual analogue at home (if it's as big as it looks on that scan) and an alternate non-dual analogue option when I'm out and about.
If I remember correctly, some Nintendo execs said that the 3DS is already compact to begin with. Perhaps there was no room for a second analog stick or they got the idea late in development. None of Nintendo's games really need the second analog stick and many games aside from FPSes can perform well without it.
This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen.
Sigh...
The Vita can't get here fast enough
I know.
Suddenly my 3DS looks as if it'll be collecting a lot more dust. I don't even use my iPod Touch nor my PSP anymore as neither of them are as appealing as my Droid 2 Phone (use my phone for CrunchyRoll) and the Sony PSVita.
I'm not saying that I'm trashing my 3DS as I love it quite a lot thanks to Nintendo Show 3D and the upcoming Super Mario 3D Land. It's gonna to still get used for FIRST PARTY games and of course WayForward eShop titles but other than that it won't be getting much else use as I'm going to be looking for a 3DS Lite that won't need a bulky and ugly add-on peripheral boat.
Saying there's no room for stuff isn't just PR speak. Here's a photo of the 3DS' insides.
My guess is they'll release an XL version in late 2012/early 2013 and it will include the extra stick and shoulder buttons simply because they'd have to make a new attachment otherwise. It would be more convenient to include it.

Lets just all hope that Nintendo doesn't have anything to do with this. If its given with Tri:G then that's fine but if its going to be supported by Nintendo I thinking its just a mistake. If we really needed it it would have been in Nintendo's original design. I believe they are listening far to much to third parties on this one. I'm not saying to appeal to your third parties but let them do what they want and don't be influenced by them. Nintendo doesn't obviously like failure and doesn't know how to handle it so now its looking for answers from anywhere and that's a mistake. They took a chance with the launch of the 3ds early and it was rough but just give us the games and it will turn out fine in the end.
@Mastergraveheart I would like to exchange friend codes with you please. I seen you said once you went to a red wings games and I live just south of Detroit and thought it would be cool to add you!

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
If the new version of the 3DS was released in 2013, then I would probably buy it day one, but if they release it like mid 2012 or something and therefore screw me AGAIN (I was a Launch Day Buyer) I would be really frustrated with Nintendo. I think Ninty have forgotten their loyal fans, stop screwing us so much!
