@tyranny_life ok after watching the video I'll probably pass. The racing aspect looks like it would be fun for about 2 minutes maximum, or I was a kid again and had never played anything else.
For $2 I might give it a shot. One thing most antigrav racers do wrong is the tight controls and expansive but interesting tracks f-zero had. Does anybody remember Xtreme-G ? Those were a blast. There was also some racing game on playstation I think where the characters basically had rollerblades on all 4 limbs and we're themselves the vehicle... I can't recall what it was.
I enjoy this game. One of the Best aspects, that I wish more games would embrace, is that there is no time limit or number of crashes allowed. But there are challenges. I think that's the perfect way to do things. You can go into a course completely blind and just mess around, explore, have fun or take it slow or anything you want. Or you can really learn the routes and shortcuts and aim for best times or zero crashes etc and hit those challenges.
@WoomyNNYes they didn't axe the dislike showing because of "trolls" they axed it because people stopped swallowing the utter BS being posted by official media and government. people started waking up, so big tech is taking more measures to control the narrative. that is 100% what it's about, no matter what lame excuse they use.
Always wanted to like Sonic games... Never did. I enjoy Mario for the good level designs, exploration, tight controls, and slower pace. Sonic has none of that from what I can tell.
@Marioman2022 wasn't noticing our own mortality and vulnerabilities, and thus donning clothes, the rsult of our first straying from God?
Therefore, a game like this actually brings us back toward the divine.
@Would_you_kindly I remember I was having a lot of fun with PUBG way back in the day, but my laptop could barely run it. Then fortnight showed up, and I thought it would basically be a less graphically demanding version of PUBG that my computer could actually run... Yea, it was not fun. The building mechanic is incredibly stupid and poorly done too. I don't know how that game ever blew up like it did.
Darn it all! I thought this article was going to say that New Horizons the game, would be getting a second soundtrack! That would be enough to get me to try it again. As it is, New Horizons has BY FAR(!!!) the worst music of any AC game. I dislike it so much I stopped playing altogether, and went back to New Leaf.
@Boogaloo_Jenkins A Short Hike I loved the graphics and nice music and scenery. But didn't care for the dialogue. It's like they tried too hard to make it "cool" or "interesting" and it didn't seem sincere.
@EarthboundBenjy I think it was the disconnect between the d-pad oriented cardinally, and the games on a 45* axis for 3d effect. Just my guess though. Still GBA games are pretty damn impressive.
@Dr_Corndog the Japanese says "hoshi no ka-bii" which is kind of like his full name in Japan. Hoshi means star, or maybe even dot. So it's like, Kirby of the stars!
Part of the reason I like JP. Versions is because they are unfamiliar and new to my eyes. I actually like this jp version more in general, but for box art purposes I have to go with the eu/USA. It at least gives a sense of the game and what to look forward to. Definitely more appealing to young kids.
@Pandy-the-Panda It is strange. America and Japan have always been the two largest console gaming markets. But America never gets any of the extras, or special things, or bonuses, or physical releases... etc.
@Hck I wonder as well. This game is beautiful and I'd like to pick it up. Either an update on switch or on my laptop (though graphically weaker than my switch, it might perform better)
NICE! Not a fan of soda in general, but I'll buy almost any mario special items. I'm in Japan so definitely picking one up. I'll ship to anybody for an exorbitant fee
@AndyC_MK111 subscription isn't the ONLY way to play these games... considering many of us (likely older folks) have already purchased many of these games, and some of them multiple times, I wholeheartedly choose to play on phone or pc. IF Nintendo gave the option for one time purchases, I might consider buying them once again just to have on my Switch. But I will NOT support the subscription model.
@Anachronism plenty of people/companies etc take inspiration from good things and put out garbage. don't feel any obligation to it just because some of the people behind it like similar things as you. @Rhaoulos It's a very strange thing. This movie is using a foreign and novel culture (to majority of americans and europeans) to push some weird ideological agenda that said culture would never be accepting of. Maybe next they'll make a middle eastern girl power movie lol. It looks soulless because Disney is soulless. They're nothing more than rich radical company trying to sway culture down the slope and off a cliff.
Man I certainly hope they have a better design than the rectangle or box. Get creative Nintendo! Higher a creative architecture firm! Please make a decent, even Japanese inspired design. Not some concrete eyesore.
Wow, all those words and exactly 1 picture... I'd need to see a ton of different game comparisons to even consider this. And as others have said, it's probably not any better than built-in upscalers many newer tv's have. what we were really hoping for in the latest Switch was a new Nvidia chip that has their upscaling tech, as it's actually incredible.
@Greatluigi it's perfectly acceptable to live with parents! especially before you've gotten married yourself. In fact, more people should stay at home longer to save money for big purchases (car, house) and have less debt.
They are super cool and good on the seller for coming up with them. But as others have mentioned, considering they are just laser cut or machined, they need to be about 1/5 the price for me to buy one. If they were hand-carved they'd likely be more expensive than they are.
Kirby is funny in this way. Even the tree was just hanging out. Sure, maybe a bad guy showed up, but that doesn't mean you go on a murdering spree of all the innocents woodland creatures and wreak havok on your way to said bad guy. Still a blast for kids though.
@iLikeUrAttitude that's true. Crash is not in the same league as Mario 64. Crash is almost like those 2.5D games. You're essentially running through corridors.
@Jayenkai I think it's probably the opposite... That is, easier to copy a great, than to make your own. Not only that, but this gives them name recognition, which is tremendous help if they do go on to make an original.
I never understand the “R2 and L2 aren’t analogue” critique. I’ve been feathering throttling with rapid pressing of the button since f-zero on the snes, and I haven’t come across a racing game yet where that doesn’t work just fine. I’m also not one to invest in fancy wheels, peddles, and go for all out sim experience, but neither are 90+% of people playing racing games.
@Matty1988 slippery slopes aren't fallacies. Societies continually slip down slopes until they fall of the cliff. The survivors realize the errors of their ways. Then the next generation start pushing toward that slope again. That's literally the story of mankind.
Not a fan of Mario Kart 8. It's too chaotic, too loud and annoying. I prefer any other previous Mario Kart. Also annoyed that Big N has been milking the worst entry in the series for ... 8 years already. I'm much more willing to give Chocobo GP a chance.
I have Japanese New 2ds LL animal crossing edition. With CFW of course. I wish I still had my USA 3ds xl AC, but sold it years ago for profit. I have been eyeballing getting another system since they're getting harder to find and more expensive unfortunately.
@Ear_wiG I think the art actually looks pretty good. If you've ever tried to make games or do any sprite work, it's much harder than it seems. sure there is better and more original, but i've seen by far a lot more that are worse and more generic.
@ModdedInkling well the steam deck is viewed as a switch competitor, not a playstation or Xbox competitor. It's handheld, roughly same form factor, dockable, and not crazy expensive either.
My preorder says after Q2 2022. So still a ways off. Putting windows on it will probably tank it's performance. Microsoft sucks and that's why they went with a lightweight Linux. I'd want to do more with it than just play games though. Docked it could be your main PC.
Pocket Camp is souless. New Horizons has by far the worst music of the entire series. I've gone back to playing New Leaf! though I wish I could play it on the TV.
Unfortunately they STILL have not even acknowledged the terrible input lag in the Switch version. I've put more hours into RL than any other game in my life. It's the perfect sports game. But the input lag in unbearable unless perhaps you just play super casually with bots or friends.
@JustMonika perhaps the art or character models are your cup of tea? I'm also old. When I was young playing super nintendo and watching sailor moon on tv, I would have jumped at the opportunity to play a game like this. Not anymore. and not after having seen much better for many years already.
