It's weird you're writing the review from an adult POV. "They’re decent distractions, but ultimately minigames are games that you’ll likely play once or twice before casting them aside." This game is aimed to kids, not grown ups. Of course you'll be bored in no time, but kids can play and replay it no matter what, just "to exist in this world" as you wrote.

Full price seems too high for the content. Besides it looks like they released the game right on time for Xmas. I planned on buying it for my 7-year-old daughter. I don't know if I will or not.

Instant buy! Sounds awesome, whereas I've never been interested in Digimon or Nexomon. But it looks like this one looks and plays differently.

Finished the game on PS4. Controls are nice, but there are too few characters to play and not enough moves to really enjoy the game. As you play, the game gets boring, redundant, repetitive.
Get your 3DS and an old SK game i.o. wasting your money on this one! Even on sale, there isn't much to enjoy.

@Olmectron, gameplay is simple indeed: you unlock 4 new moves by character at the beginning of the game and then no more.
No other choice than spamming the same moves every time.
There could have been a skill tree or idk.
As it is, it's very simple. And boring.

Looks like you forgot Hoa. I bought it (for my 5-year-old girl) as per your review, which says it's a platformer for beginners.

I'm surprised it has never been published in UK. The Mario-kun Manga has been published in France (in French) and it's not that good...

Finally an accessible shmup to newcomers! (I like shmup but I am not a fan of bullet-hell or games which are too frantic.)

Looks boring! We don't know how many HP are left, nor MP. The guy keeps on using spells to beat the enemies. He uses his sword once or twice for 5 minutes.
Checking the good ol' time great RPG released on Game Boy, could have helped develop something way better than that!
The only good thing is the dragon sprite.

I finally played this game (thanks to your review) and I love it! Looks gorgeous, gameplay and level design are great! Story is interesting, jokes are here. Everything's good! And it was developed by one man only! Congrats on him!
