@Joekun Nintendo is the seller. You are the buyer. It's an economic relationship. You absolutely are consuming their product. Defintion - Economics - a person or organization that uses a commodity or service.
You may not like being called a consumer, you may feel insulted by that (which makes no sense to me at all) but you can't change facts.
@-wc- Silly argument. Chessmaster for the NES had a rewind function.
The idea that you don't have the discipline to not use a rewind function is an indication of a lack of self control in you, not an issue with the game.
@Captain-N @Captain-N my apologies I’m in my mid 40s and sometimes forget things. I do remember getting Mario 64 when it came out, but upon looking it up it was August of 2000.
I really don't understand all the hemming and hawing about this. Games have been sold at $60 for almost thirty years now - I remember picking up Mario Tennis for the 64 at that price point back in the '90s. $70 today is still cheaper, when factoring in inflation, are still cheaper than what they were sold for in the '80s and '90s.
Honestly sounds like entitlement from a lot of you.
@Vil @Simon97 Blu Ray discs are more expensive and for me, I can't tell a difference in the picture, so why would I bother spending an extra $5 to $10? Must be enough people like me still as DVD only or DVD/Blu Ray combos are readily available.
Also - if you don't won an Xbox or PS system, you don't have that blu ray built in to anything.
@Tasuki The movie landscape is far different than it was 30 years ago. PCS almost always set up the movie for a sequel. That wasn't the case during the original Mario Bros. movie. Further, this movie mad $500 million in 10 days. Of course there's going to be a sequel.
@JGruns Walmart and Target in the States do the same thing - ask if you want to buy protection for video games. It's something that's automatically flagged in their system.
@Heavyarms55 sounds more like an issue with your cousin and her mother saying no than an actual Fortnight issue.
You can progress in Fortnight without spending money fairly easily. It’s not an excuse anymore than any rationale for any question of why is. I don’t spend money on Fortnight and don’t allow my kids to, and they do just fine.
@soapmonkey - I got to say, your apology was a nice surprise. I come into any conversation about Fortnight on a defensive footing just because of how much my kids love the game. I can't stand it personally, but they love it.
I'm sorry for my taking offense when none was clearly warranted. Have a good day.
Honestly, I don't know why so many people have such a hard time with reading comprehension. Amazon didn't say they were "preventing" anything. Even in your article you quote them as saying they are prioritizing essential items.
@Nintyfan It certainly is a port. Just because it was released simultaneously doesn't mean it wasn't planned for and designed for the Wii U first and then ported to the Switch. I can't post links here, but just do a cursory search and you'll that's the case.
I don't care if it was the best selling game of all time. It's tedious and the fighting mechanics in the game are terrible. I'm glad you like it. I'm glad you use popularity as a measure of quality (even though you went out of your way to say you don't), but that's not what moves me. And quite honestly, BOTW feels more like the game you derided, GTA, than a real Zelda game.
Finally, the point was never discussed. Why do some people feel the need to rub something they have in others faces? That was the whole point of the op that I referred to.
@Zeldafan79 I understand your argument. I just can't get behind it. Theft is theft, no matter the context. Now, as mentioned above, there could be mitigating circumstances behind the theft, but wanting to play a video game that you otherwise couldn't is not one of those.
@Zeldafan79 Drastic times calls for drastic measures describes stealing bread to feed your family. The situation you described is of a petulant child who wants what he can't get so he takes it anyway. You may have justified it to yourself, but you're no different than the guy who shoplifts to most people.
@Donutman our Wii U is also an entertainment hub. In the back of my mind though, I worry a little bit about when Netflix or YouTube decide to turn off their apps on the device, like they did with the Wii. I'll enjoy it until it goes off the air though.
@CupidStunt you do your argument a disservice when you resort to name calling. Just because someone agrees with a company doesn't mean they're a "raging fan-boy." That's really bad logic.
@Zeldafan79 a tiny fraction of the population destroying a tiny fraction of material goods in no way represents a “sinking” of the world. Heck, one could easily make the argument that the massive amount of money spent on entertainment is an indication of how this would has sunk.
@Yoshinator people spend a lot more than that on essentially cosmetics in the real world, and I’m certain you have spent something to make you look “cool” as well. What’s the difference?
I will never understand the bashing of things that other people find entertainment with simply because it doesn’t entertain you.
@Mykillvee I mean this in the most polite way possible... but who are you to say what something should be priced at? Amiibos have always had the $12.99 msrp here in the States.

You are a consumer.
Re: 'Super Mario Party Jamboree' Rolls Onto Switch This October
@Peteykins Doesn't seem fair to call a game a ripoff when you placed expectations on it that it never promised.
Re: Pikmin 4 Will Let You Erase Your Mistakes With A Handy New Rewind Mechanic
@its_luke_c @its_luke_c why do you need to turn them off?
Why can’t you simply not use them?
I really don’t get this argument. What’s so hard about not rewinding if you don’t want to?
Re: Pikmin 4 Will Let You Erase Your Mistakes With A Handy New Rewind Mechanic
@-wc- your premise makes no sense.
Why can’t you simply not use the feature? Who’s holding a gun to your head forcing your hand?
There’s nothing in your post to indicate you were joking about chess.
And you don’t get to define chess. Simply rewinding or taking back a move doesn’t mean you’re not playing chess. That’s a silly argument.
Re: Pikmin 4 Will Let You Erase Your Mistakes With A Handy New Rewind Mechanic
@Aurumonado if using rewind cheapens then game for you (which makes no sense to me) then simply don’t use it. What’s so hard about this concept?

Re: Pikmin 4 Will Let You Erase Your Mistakes With A Handy New Rewind Mechanic
@Aurumonado why? Who is forcing you to use it?
Couldn't you just have the self discipline not to use?

@twztid13 you're going to have to cite your source on that one. That'd be a pretty easy thing to call out.
