@DStanton I didn't create the art, so it's not my decision to make. But quite honestly, it wouldn't bother me one way or the other. There's plenty of current art out there for current fans and future fans to enjoy.
Just because you don't see something as a win for Nintendo doesn't mean that they don't. You don't speak for them, after all.
I will just never understand yours, and pretty much everyone else arguing the point that it's okay to steal something because you want it and you can't have it. I can't get behind that argument.
@DStanton Books go out of print all the time. There are tons of movies, mostly from the beginning of film, that you simply can't see anymore. Art is lost. It happens. But it doesn't give you, the consumer, the right to steal it simply because you want it, however noble your motivation may be.
@nocdaes I actually don't think he does speak for the "core Nintendo fan," whatever that means. People like you or me posting on sites like this are so insulated from what the casual Nintendo fan likes and enjoys. I'm guessing the vast majority of people are okay with the $20 price tag for Nintendo online. And that's who Nintendo is trying to please. You guys threatening to not renew over really petty things are a drop in the bucket for Nintendo.
@sanderev Why wouldn't there be tons of article on this? If there's one place on the internet you'd find them, they'd be here. What does it bother you for anyway - just don't read them if you don't like them.
@Greenmanalishi Robin Williams' character had one film. The four characters in this movie / video game have two films, if you count the one set to release this year. Just because Williams' film is older doesn't make it better. And for what it's worth, Welcome to the Jungle is objectively better than the original Jumanji.
@Charlie_Girl with that being said anything that even one person used as a portable device could be deemed portable. For instance, if you have an electric source, you could bring a small tv with you and plug in a console. Or a toaster could be deemed as portable. So it doesn't really matter to me what thousands of people do. The Switch is great, another iteration for Nintendo. But for me, because the portability is simply not there for reasons I brought up earlier, it's not a portable device.
@Charlie_Girl I just can't consider the Switch to be a portable device, what with how big it is, how tenuous the joy-cons seem to be when attached, and how bad the battery life is. It is used exclusively as a home console in our house.
@andrew124 Yes, I can complain, anytime I want. It doesn't make me a "hater" (which again, considering you use the word to define someone who doesn't like something you like, indicates that you have no clue what it means).
And quite honestly, you don't really know what you're talking about. I didn't expect Nintendo to drop Pikmin 4; I was simply hopeful. Because my hopes were dashed, the direct didn't produce for me. Literally every single person in the entire world could be thrilled for Mario Maker 2 and it wouldn't make a difference to how the direct fared for me. That's something that you don't seem to understand - people like different things. And couple that with the fact that Nintendo hinted a completed Pikmin 4 nearly three years ago, yes, this direct was a disappointment for me. Not to mention the fact that I don't care for rpgs and anime based games, there wasn't much there for me. Doesn't make me a hater, and certainly doesn't validate your desire to have me not comment when my opinion differs from you.
At the end of the day, I guess all I can say is grow up.
I'm a "hater" because I was disappointed by the direct? I honestly don't think you know what that word means. And your stance is don't comment unless you agree with everyone. Is that really what you want to be saying?
@Denoloco Plenty of people need traditional 2d Mario games made by the masters. Too many people are not creative. Couple that with the fact that laying one off levels that don't theme with each other is very different than playing through a 2d Mario with levels within worlds that mesh together. Very different styles of game.
@MrBlacky Literally no one is calling this a port, anywhere. Post #13 specifically said it seemed like a sequel, not a port. It's even got a 2 in it's name. You're seeing ghosts.
@BulkSlash either. If you the one game you've been wanting still hasn't even been confirmed to be in the pipeline, it's pretty easy to call this direct a failure. For me, that game is Pikmin 4. I never cared much for Zelda games, FF, or rpgs in general. The only decent game announced was Mario Maker 2, and even that game alone doesn't "win" a direct. Big fail for me.
@nintendobynature Glad to know it's fairly easy. Currently the only downloaded games I have on our Wii are from the Virtual Console shop - old NES and SNES games. Would you recommend doing the transfer? We currently have two Wii U's. One I suppose could become our Wii machine. And the old Wii can just be the Gamecube machine. I miss Nintendo's backwards compatibility.
@liljmoore What you mean is you won't buy it. I am planning on buying it. Looks awesome, and quite honestly, how you can call this a time waster and any other video game not is beyond me.
@Carnictis It's not an awesome reply. Quite honestly, it's petulant and childish to insult others who are feeling slighted by Nintendo. Wii U owners supported Nintendo through a real down period in it's history, and Nintendo basically spits in their face about it. Although from a business point of view it makes sense, for those who feel slighted or salty about it, it makes sense. Then you have guys come out and complain about that?
@JackEatsSparrows Just as easily could be "Waa, I want every game I purposely avoided for five years because I was too dumb to realize the Wii U was a different, better system, than the Wii."
@SuperCharlie78 See, I'm not a fan of that way of thinking. "17 million people didn't have the chance to buy this game on Wii U." That's simply not true. Anyone who wanted to could have bought a Wii U and any game they wanted. Those 17 million people you discuss chose not to. Big difference.
@nhSnork That is an awesome comment. I used to play both sides in Axis and Allies, imagining it more as an unfolding of events than as a game between two separate players. My parents loved that I could entertain myself when no one else was around. My wife just looks at me with a touch of concern...

@DStanton who says there has to be logic?

Re: Nintendo Files Lawsuit Against ROM Website Offering Nearly 300,000 Switch Downloads
@ComposedJam "I already have my collection I need to play."
That right there is your main problem. These are video games. This is not a need. You're thinking about this from a flawed perspective.

@DStanton Yes. You, as a player, don't have the right to play something simply because you want to.

@CerberusAzdin you should probably speak for yourself, because "no one" and "all online subscribers" is inaccurate.
Re: DuckTales: Remastered Is Leaving The Wii U eShop On 9th August
@BlueBlur101 kind of a patronizing way to reply to someone, especially as the answer's been given several times already.

@nintendolie Luigi's Mansion 3 is releasing on Halloween, not before.

@Amrulez anytime! No more a waste of time commenting to you than you replying.

@Amrulez I highly doubt God cares that you got a $20 online subscription for free.
Re: Soapbox: The Nintendo Switch Lite Has The One Thing I've Been Waiting For All This Time
@Airsqueeble why does everyone think the stick will start to float? This isn't a detachable piece like original joy-cons.
Re: Soapbox: The Nintendo Switch Lite Has The One Thing I've Been Waiting For All This Time
@Raw_Dawg Funny, I feel that way about the Switch right now, whereas between the DS and 3DS lines there were hundreds of games I'd want.

@dugan It's a video game console. It is a toy. Just like every other video game console.

@Patron Dude - this is a Nintendo fan site. If you want to bring up politics, go somewhere else.

@GravyThief horrible use of logic there. Just terrible.

Re: Review: Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn - A Timeless Classic That Feels Right At Home On 3DS
@Charlie_Girl well clearly. Not sure what the point is.
Re: Review: Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn - A Timeless Classic That Feels Right At Home On 3DS
I don’t get why everyone is so bothered by a lack of 3D for this title. I haven’t used the 3D function since the 3ds released 8 years ago.
Re: Review: Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn - A Timeless Classic That Feels Right At Home On 3DS
@molliolli182 what do you mean by too easy and too difficult?

@LoriLoud The direct was composed of ports, sequels and remakes, but not having 3DS games is refreshing to you? That doesn't make a lot of sense.
