I kid you not: the original sequel to Mike Tyson's Punch Out is called "Power Punch II" or "Mike Tyson's Intergalactic Power Punch." You play Mike Tyson and beat up space aliens in the ring. Seriously--google it!
The "Ogre Battle" title's quite clever, From an old Queen album it can't sever. But a song from a band For entertainment grand? Well of course, who wants to live for ever?
We are glad C64 didn't expire So we might play again and perspire To those old great games Like racers with slow frames Now give us BC's Quest For Tires!
In this game when you want to kick left You'll find yourself thus quite bereft. With controls as amusing as this game you'll be losing, Instead give this game a good heft.
Not content with just stealing it's look This game took each page from Zelda's book. A sword that looks mean A hidden cave on each screen Must play to see all the thief took!
I remember Glass Joe quicklly fell. I was glad hearing thricely the bell But I let loose a scream When I saw Mr. Dream Thinking, "This ain't Mike Tyson: I can tell!"
Yes I played on this island before but I found it to be quite a bore. Without eating fruit Your little guy's in death's suit. Thus I enjoyed its return to the store!
Here's what I would like to see: multiple ratings based on multiple reviewers, the same way EGM and other magazines used to do--it provides a different perspective on the same release.
Also, consider having a post-review, another reviewer who later comes back to review a previously-reviewed title with a second look.
One thing VC needs for classic games? ONLINE CO-OPERATIVE PLAY. How much fun would we have playing Secret of Mana with one player as the boy in the USA, one as the sprite in London, and another as the girl in Sidney?
Kirby's Dreamland 1 was a fun game with little challenge (Except in the expert mode!). Kirby's Adventure was a little more challenging, but felt like drudgery to get through when I came back to play it later in life. Never played Kirby's Dreamland 2 or 3.
Ah, Mega Man 3. Nintendo's current release strategy seems to remind me of fasting with a small snack after the sun sets. Of course, the snack is pretty decent.
Here's a hint: don't forget to EQUIP YOUR ARMOR. A friend once played this game quite far without realizing this truth--not bad, actually, for a challenge!
Ah, now this is a great title. I have the compilation disc as well as a working NES copy. Nevertheless, if you have Wii-points burning a hole in your Wii-pocket, this would be a good investment. Perhaps Nintendo will release each title before number nine? That would be funny.
Nintendo should be careful about building up hopes just to dash them. Nevertheless, I'm already hardened into not expecting anything great for a year or two until the service is about dead. Then, they might release the good stuff en masse in addition to the good stuff that's already on tap.
I have an idea for Nintendo: release ALL the potential VC titles at once. Then, feature two or three games per week to hilight what's already available. Any takers?
I intend to non-politely pass. Actually, I've gotten into playing actual classic console games instead of VC--why wait for them to appear on VC when I can just get them in pawn shops and ebay?
Shining Force 1 was great: But, why wasn't Jack Nicholson an unlock-able character? But really, all you have to do is replay the first fight 100 times and you're ready to beat the game with the levels you've built up!
Twilight Princes was the best Zelda, IMO. However, it had some silly parts that took forever to get through--such as escorting the wagon through the plains, fighting off beasts while the wagon just circles round and round for no reason. There were a few places where you had to dust the cobwebs off every stone in a room in order to find out what on earth you're supposed to tug or push to get to the next room (I'm looking at you, final stage before the castle!).
But, TP had one of the most exciting fight scenes I've ever played in a game, where you have to rescue the kid from the band of orcs. I spent so much time attacking the underlings before I realized all I had to do was focus on knocking the leader's armor off. But, what fun trying to survive fighting the posse--I think I lasted 10 minutes at one point before I realized that the orcs re-appeared from nothing! What a game!

So which would you say is better: 93 or 94 Bomberman?

Re: USA VC Update: Commodore 64 Launches With Three Games
I would love to see them put up the BASIC interface from the C64 so VCers can write and execute programs.

Re: Hands on with SnakeByte's XS Starter Pack
They should just release adaptors to allow us to use old SNES, Genesis, and NES pads with the Wii.
Re: Sonic the Hedgehog 2
I believe I have this on my Sega comp collection. (PS2) But thanks anyways, NOA.
Re: USA VC Update: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Master System)
It could be worse. It could be the Game Gear version. Wait a tic, the Master System version was most like the Game Gear version. Oh well.
Tony, don't be like AVGN--he's got a potty mouth. Maybe he'll outgrow it when he has kids to raise who imitate him.

Re: USA VC Update: Space Harrier
I think I figured out what's happening. NOA is paying the Mega Man Naming Committee (TM) to pick the release titles.
This week's release: "Mediocre Man!"

There is no suspend state in MM9, sadly. There should be, though! I've kept my Wii up with MM9 up for about two weeks now.

Wouldn't this be great to play through the Wii-network with each other multiplayer?
Re: Bionic Commando Not Approved For Virtual Console
Nintendo should have negotiated with the third parties MUCH BEFORE it ever released the Wii.
Re: Publishers Remain Tight-Lipped On Black Monday Debacle
The best way to enjoy classic gaming? Put the Wii in the rubbish and buy an old console with games on eBay.
