Re: Poll: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Is Getting A Huge Update In Early 2026, What Are You Most Excited For?

shred5

Why Slumber island? Why not just another island? Take a boat or plane. You could set it up like you did with the original. Invite new villager's? Could be a new story line where Tom got some new property. I am not really into decorating homes or rooms. I like the core island of building a island, finding Villager's, crafting. Was not mentioned so I doubt it is coming but why not any new fish or bugs.. Decorating a hotel and stuff really not my thing. Was not a huge fan of the expansion either even though some of it was cool. I was really hoping for a new Animal crossings but I would guess now that is off in the distance. I was hoping New Leaf would be remade or remastered or at least be added to Nintendo online. I never got to play it and always wanted to try it.

Re: Nintendo Indie World Showcase August 2025 - Every Announcement, Game Reveal & Trailer

shred5

@Filthy
Same, nothing for me either. I am at the point where both of us have barely touched our Switch 2's. The wife booted up animal crossings to see if it worked and that was it. I wish I would have bought a PC Handheld and just waited on a Switch 2 and kept my Switch 1. I have seen nothing that makes this system look next gen. Most stuff is still using cartoon graphics. For me this is the first system I have really been disappointed in and had the highest hopes for. I have only tried Mario Kart and Breath of the Wild. There really is a game drought all over though. I might go back and do another Elden Ring run or maybe play Tekken 5. I was hoping stellar blade would come to the Switch 2 but I think I will get it for the PS5 because it certainly does not seem like it is coming to the Switch 2 and if it is, has to be no where near close. I am usually excited about new systems but I see nothing till next year yet. I wonder how many others are starting to feel like they should have waited?

Re: Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase July 2025: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer

shred5

@Punisher67

Yea a PC handheld may have been the way to go and just held on to my Switch. I really like portables.

I dumped my Xbox because all their top games were supposed to be coming to the Switch 2, PC and PS5. So why have a Xbox anymore.

For someone like me that has all 3 or had all 3 these ports do not do it for me either. I played most of what I wanted to.

I should have just kept my Switch One and got rid of both my Xbox and PS5 because Sony is also bringing there games to the PC.

Maybe I should also dump my PS5 and still get a Steam deck.

To late on the Switch 2 now i have one.

That said there really is a game drought lately all the way around on all systems. The last game I really got into was Elden Ring, I also liked Tales of Arise but that was sitting on my shelf for years because I got it really cheap and didn't think I would like it but it was fun.

Re: Switch 2 Games Cost A Bit More Than You're Probably Expecting

shred5

@Uncle_Franklin

I think you are right. I always could support the higher prices of games because for the amount of time for example Elden ring I had over 100 hours into finishing it. Price of a movie is 10 bucks so a game was a good investment. 80.00 there is allot I can do with it other than play games..

Same as concerts. I have seen hundreds of concerts. I paid over 250.00 for Guns N roses and it was not great. I wont spend that much again. They priced me out and a person who goes to so many.

Problem is there are too many terrible games and if they cost 80.00 you are screwed especially if you can not sell them if they suck. Back in the day there was playable demos for almost all games so you could at least try them. That seems to have dried up on most games. So 80.00 makes a game a risk. Also most games are way to short.

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct?

shred5

All this time they had and that was it.

80.00 for a game is bull.
Where are the new games? Mostly enhanced games, ports or already played games.
Mario Kart is beat to death.
Where is animal crossings? They have not touched that game in how long.
Hardware is ok didn't expect something as powerful or more powerful than the PS5.

Honestly for me no reason to buy it now. Only thing that interested me was the Exclusive FromSoft game.

Very disappointing Direct.

honestly Gaming in General is getting Meehhh.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Launches 5th June 2025, Mario Kart World Bundle Confirmed

shred5

I am pretty disappointed for the launch. Mario Kart who cares it is beaten to death. Most of the games are enhanced version ( I finished both Breath and Tears) or older games like Elden ring ( I already beat it on the PS5). No Animal crossings or mention of one? All this time to get ready and this is it?
I sure hope they show some more launch titles or at least something this year.
Then 80 buck for Mario kart a game beaten to death and main reason it did so well was it was a bundle.
I am starting to feel Nintendo is as bad a Sony.

Re: Nintendo Has Confirmed It Won't Be At Gamescom This Year

shred5

With Nintendo it is simple. Nvidia said in their quarterly conference call that they could not provide all the chips to everyone because they are all in on AI. Look at crypto mining on how Nvidia shafted gamers for more profitable chips. They turned their backs on gamers who got them where they are. Well I would bet it is happening again and Nintendo stated they wanted enough system so they did not have the issues like Sony had. Well they probably are waiting for more chips from Nvidia or they are switching to Samsung which has been speculated about before. I think the delay is 100 percent Nvidia fault.

Re: Rumour: New Report From Nikkei Corroborates 'Switch 2' Delay Into 2025

shred5

@BiscuitCrumbsInMyBed

Sorry I missed this and reply late. You would think so but there is no release date. Notice how dead it got on Switch 2 rumors all of a sudden. Nvidia said they can not supply chips to everyone because they are all in on AI just at the same time. They turned their backs on gamers before with Crypto mining. They do not care about gamers who got them where they are now and care more about following the big bucks. I am going to guess Nintendo is working with Samsung on chips. Again pure speculation but crickets means something has changed and reading Nvidia quarterly conference call makes me wonder if they could produce enough chips for Nintendo. Now they maybe using the tech and looking for someone to make the chips too which also could be Samsung. Maybe because of the shortage by NVidia it will take longer to get enough chips too launch with. Again pure speculation but crickets means something has changed.

Re: Rumour: New Report From Nikkei Corroborates 'Switch 2' Delay Into 2025

shred5

I bet this is Nvidia problem. They are so focused on AI chips where the money is they do not want to make this chip. They have already said they do not know how to supply everyone chips. When Cryto mining was big they turned their back on gamers before and created a shortage of pc graphics chips..

I also have to wonder if that guy who said they might go a different way with a processor might actually be happening.

I just hope by the time the system comes out due to all the pushbacks this system is not outdated and does not have to take to much of a performance hit for cross platform titles again.

Re: Rumour: Xbox's Hi-Fi Rush Will Reportedly Launch On 'Switch 2'

shred5

@RareFan

I hear you.. It was rumored before that it was delayed due to chip shortages and Nintendo wanted enough system so what happened to Sony does not happen to them. Now another rumored delay. Lets hope this means Nintendo has upped the specs and they system does not launch and be behind the times again. I really hoped multiplatform titles do not take such a hit.

I wonder if this has to do with Nvidia and their AI chips. I mean Nvidia pretty much turned their backs on gamers when crypto mining was huge. Now they got a huge 765 percent earning increase year over year because of AI chips. Why do they want to make these cheaper chips for Nintendo. It could be Nintendo is having a hard time securing chips.
There was a Youtuber that talked about Nintendo maybe moving to Samsung Chips I think and he got bashed. Maybe he is not far off.

I mean the Nvidia spec leak for the switch was like over 2 years ago now maybe thing have changed.

Re: Talking Point: If 'Switch 2' Isn't Coming Until 2025, What's Nintendo Got Up Its Sleeve This Year?

shred5

Honestly nothing I have seen coming up interests me much. After I finished Tears of the kingdom I have barely touched my switch other than occasionally popping in on animal crossings.. Kind of hyped on a new system now. I just worry that it is delayed so far that it ends up being underpowered again for cross platform games. Rumor was it was supposed to launch much sooner but the chip shortage pushed it back because Nintendo wanted enough systems at launch and didn't want what happened to Sony.

Girlfriend too. She picked up a Xbox to play Disney dream light valley and that Harry Potter game.
She just wants a new animal crossings now. I doubt she picks up anymore switch games.

Its time..

Me I will probably go back to FFXI on the computer for a bit. Maybe I will redo a Animal Crossings island.

Gamings pretty so so for me right now. I have played pretty much what I wanted to on the PS5 too. A little drought over there.

Re: Nintendo Shares Drop Following Latest Reports Of Switch 2 'Delay'

shred5

Another worry is this. Supposedly this was already delayed because of the chip shortage and Nintendo wanted to have enough units at launch. Now if it is delayed till next year. Also rumored it was going to be as powerful as Xbox one. If Nintendo does not increase specs it could be a outdated system again by he time it launches. I mean it worked out this last round.

Re: Nintendo Shares Drop Following Latest Reports Of Switch 2 'Delay'

shred5

@rjejr

While you are probably right, nothing in there says anything other than making it easier to move accounts. Account could mean nothing more than username and PW, it could also mean user info like address or billing info maybe even Friends list.

I mean I think the switch 2 is coming. Might not be called that but everything is rumors so far. Really nothing is confirmed. Nintendo could deny any Switch 2 rumor simply because it might not be called Switch 2 because it does not exist. Like I said too, I would not put it past Nintendo to do something completely different and go a different direction all together.. I hope not but they could and have so many times before..

Re: Nintendo Shares Drop Following Latest Reports Of Switch 2 'Delay'

shred5

@rjejr

How do you know there is a switch 2?
Rumors?

Nintendo usually goes another way all the time with next gen consoles.. Maybe they are not with all these other handhelds out there. Maybe they will come out with some weird thing like virtual boy again.

Stocks move on earnings and if there is nothing new this year earnings will fall.

Honestly if there is not a switch 2 I am not sure I would want to be a investor. I think Switch 2 would be a logical choice and would sell well but what if they go another direction. If they go another direction it maybe the biggest let down in gaming history. I know it would be for me since I like my switch and maybe my favorite of all time. I really was not into Nintendo games till the switch.. The only other system I had was the NES.

Re: Nintendo Shares Drop Following Latest Reports Of Switch 2 'Delay'

shred5

@LEGEND_MARIOID

Here is the thing investors have insiders and if stock reacts like this there may be some truth in it. If the system was expected this year and it is not happening the stock will have worse quarters and then you buy back cheaper. There are now allot of short term traders in the market especially in gaming.

If it comes out next year that may mean it is not on Nintendo's books for this year. could mean a bad year for them financially with low hardware sales. Low hardware sales can also leads to low software sales.

Could this rumor be baseless maybe, maybe not.

Also Nintendo has a write to its share holders. They are a publicly held company with a board of directors and there goal is to make money for stock holders. It is not a privately held company. They need to tell the stock holders about the future.

Look at it from a investors standpoint not a gamers.

Re: Nintendo Shares Drop Following Latest Reports Of Switch 2 'Delay'

shred5

Never announced so how could it be delayed.
Anyway it is to the point where Nintendo does need to say something. I think what may be going on is Nintendo wants to break the record for consoles sold. If they announce a new system it hurts sales of existing system. As a investor Nintendo needs a new system and if it is not coming out till next year it hurts Nintendo and it hurts investors. I can see why investors are concerned. Honestly they need to say something soon. At least to stop these rumors.. I rarely play my switch anymore even though it has been my favorite system. The issue is the media and influencers are driving all this. Every week there is a rumored direct next week and no direct. Honestly with the conference coming up I doubt there will be one this month. But every week there is a site say next week new direct. So much click bait. I never seen a console so full of rumors than the switch. How long has a pro been rumored and how many times.

Re: Shuntaro Furukawa Claims Recent 'Switch 2' Rumours Are Not Accurate

shred5

@rjejr

That is exactly right. They are not lying because it wont be called the switch 2. Probably has a different name. They have done this exact thing before.

Still I wonder what is actually true.
At this point everyone knows something is coming so why not just say what it is.
The problem is as the rumors get larger if they do not announce soon people will be more disappointed.

Re: Nintendo Switch Successor Chip Rumours Are Doing The Rounds Again

shred5

If it is anything other than a new switch I think it will be a massive disappointment to allot of people. I probably won’t buy it if it is not a switch 2. I have never been a huge Nintendo fan but I like the portability with decent power of the switch. I now think the Switch is one of my favorite systems ever and really enjoyed allot of the games. I am ready to move on at this point and rarely touch the Switch anymore. I might get Tears of the kingdom but also might wait to see if a new switch launches with a remastered version of Tears of the kingdom.

Also will depend on what it launches with. Certainly will launch with Tears of the kingdom remastered. Tears of the kingdom is probably almost done anyway and was done along side the current switch version. Wife would get a new system only once animal crossing comes out. No way she would miss it.

Re: Nintendo's Investor Q&A Promises Switch Isn't Dead After Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom

shred5

@roboshort
Me too I have not touched my Switch other than check on my Villagers from time to time in Animal crossings. I have been mostly using my PS5 and also barely touched my Xbox (massive drought of games).

I may even skip this Zelda with the price increase. I would bet money they are making a of version of Zelda for next gen remastered and probably did it along side this one already. I would buy it for a new system. You know they are trying to double dip on this game and probably why they have not announced next gen. Most would buy it twice.

Re: Yes, Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Costs $70, Collector's Edition Announced

shred5

Yea and they will remaster it for their next gen system and double dip because everyone will buy it again. I would not doubt it was made beside this version. Very disappointed in Nintendo. My favorite system is going out with a whimper and a bad taste in my mouth. Other than a little animal crossing nostalgia and check on my villagers I rarely pick it up anymore.

Re: Round Up: Everything Announced In The February 2023 Nintendo Direct - Every Game Reveal And Trailer

shred5

I really was not impressed. There was allot of stuff but mostly remasters, ports and DLC. I know people will be excited about Metroid. We all knew Zelda would be there but I thought it might get its own direct which it probably still will. Most new stuff looks like moldy oldies like we are back at the 8 bit days or just some goofy stuff. Other than Zelda I see no reason to pick up my switch. I will probably wait on Zelda at that price. I was hoping for maybe some info in a offshoot to Animal crossing announcement. I really have been playing my Switch less and less. I am thinking there is allot of actual new content is being held back because of a new platform. I think Zelda is released because they can double dip, they will release a new console with a updated/remastered version of Zelda. They know people will buy it again.

Re: Nintendo Says Switch Chip Shortages Are "Largely Resolved" As It Cuts Forecasts

shred5

@IronMan30

Agreed Sales of consoles were bound to fall. Not sure a price cut would make too much difference unless it is a decent one. I think most who want a switch have one. It is mostly replacements. I think a price cut will have to be decent at this point to entice a significant amount of people. I think also too many people are starting to think a new console is around the corner so may wait. I just think Nintendo is eying that sales record and me be part of their decision not to announce.

I honestly do not play my switch much anymore. I really think something new needs to come out or people may loose interest, I know I am. My wife too she picked up a Xbox S just because of how bad Disney Dream light valley was on the switch. She is also eyeing up the Hogwarts legacy because I can not even imagine how bad it will be on the switch or how many corners will be cut.

I use my Xbox almost not at all. I play my PS5 the most.

Re: Nintendo Once Again Reassures It Has No Plans To Increase Switch Prices

shred5

@UltraZelda64

Not really then if you use that example then when they brought out the Switch lite they lowered the price. You can also get the Original Switch for the same price. Oled Displays are more expensive so it make sense in this case. Sony made no changed other than some small revisions to make it cheaper to manufacture. Sony didn't raise the price and give people a better system. Problem is who ever is making the decisions at Sony right now is not very smart. Release a model that at least is a LE or a bundle or more storage do not just raise prices on the exact same model.

Re: PSA: Experiencing Switch OLED Blackouts In Docked Mode? Swap Your HDMI Cable

shred5

@johnvboy

It is as issue and not just with OLED model it seems to be newer consoles came packed with bad HDMI cables.

My older switch no issues. My girlfriends switch has issues with the HDMI cable. I had to switch it out because of lack of picture. It is nothing to do with the actual switch or dock it is the cables they come with now.

Re: Round Up: Everything Announced In The February 2022 Nintendo Direct - Every Game Reveal And Trailer

shred5

Didn't like it, thought it was the worst yet and actually made me a little more nervous than happy.

Only game I was interested in was Xenoblade 3.

I was more hyped for Kirby before now, It looks ok and it might be a buy once it drops a little in price.

No Botw 2 which means it probably wont be out this year. This stinks because it was my most anticipated game. Not even a scrap of info.

No Bayonetta news either.

I am getting sick of remasters of old games on all systems. Some of it is laziness and some of it is not being able to come up with new ideas.

The system is starting to feel older to me now. Switch has been one of my favorite systems of all time but I play it less and less and saw nothing here to change that.

Re: Nintendo President Reiterates That Switch Is "Just In The Middle Of Its Lifecycle"

shred5

Remember most newer systems are out before the end of the life cycle of the older system and sometimes years. The newer system would most likely be out before this current generation is over. Look at PS5 and PS4. PS5 has been out over a year now and Sony said they would still produce the PS4 for another year. So if they still think the switch is mid cycle. We will probably see a new system late next year. I am sure they wanted sooner but with the chip shortage they probably pushed it out some which is smart. You do not want a issue like Sony has. not only that I do not see a huge jump in this current generation in either my PlayStation or Xbox. Hell the PS5 was launched without 1440, free sync, Bluetooth audio etc.

Re: Limited Run Games Announces More Physical Releases For Switch, Pre-Orders Now Open

shred5

@GannonBanned I get it but also is a reason. They have no Idea what demand is and since they are small they can order a bunch of carts and end up sitting on them if they do not sell. Most games we purchase are already made and released to a retailer. Limited Run take orders and then go to have them published after they find out what the demand is. I am also guessing Nintendo still makes the carts in Japan and shipping is a issue right now with everything. It stinks but it is what it is, I bet they wish it could be different too because it would be better for them. I am involved in a project that took for ever to release because we could not get boxes made. the item was manufactured but we could not get boxes.
