@Sordid I would actually guess cost cutting. Wolfenstein young blood was digital only and they didn't put wolfenstein 2 fully on a cart. Although young blood was a budget priced title so that might have been the reason for that.
I'm not a huge fan of paying the price they set. You could find a physical copy without the risk of losing your investment if the cloud service go under for about the same price
You can already get it cheap on other consoles and was available with ps plus so I don't think this will change alot of peoples decision on getting the switch version. Most people who are buying this are in it for borderlands on the go. Atleast it should be better than the last portable version I played.
Had a daycare call on us for walking buy even though we were across the street and only went by once. The cop got a bit of a laugh when he figured out what they called us in for, so it was all good.
@Varkster it's all good and as far as I know it's the only consumer grade gpu with raytracing as a hardware feature, but the amd solutions are coming in the form of next gen consoles. It should be a relatively easy transition for them as Nvidia use directx and opengl API for raytracing along with older techniques that were used for raytracing prior to rtx. I don't think amd have introduced a PC gpu with dedicated raytracing hardware though.
@PhilKenSebben If you look around it is possible to get it running on Windows 10, but as you said I'm happy to have a multi threaded version of crysis 1 that isn't on ps3 and 360.
@Varkster raytracing is neither exclusive or created by Nvidia. They however are the first to introduce consumer grade hardware accelerated Ray tracing. It can be done without the rtx hardware, even on older Nvidia gpus, and on the next gen consoles through it's own hardware acceleration.
It seems to be on par with what I thought it would be. I will pick it up, but probably on PC to support the series and get 60 fps. I imagine the developer did the best with the budget they probably had.
When it comes to ports i mostly buy the games I've never played. If more games had cross save I'd be more likely to pick up the switch version if I played the game previously. As for new releases I'll pick up the switch if it's a decent port. Just having the ability have the portable and console in one version is great for me.
Had an amazing time with this game. I bought the switch version and got the pc version for free on epic game store. So I'll play it again on there soon.
@Jaalsky I picked it up for 49.99 at walmart. Walmart has had all their games cheaper than most places for a little while now. Granted it's still $10 more than you wanted to spend, but if you are looking for your games cheaper that might be a good place to look.
@KnightWolf Yeah alot do. People were really looking forward to a new one. The last one didn't sell as good as ubisoft wanted, but I think they also expected way to much because it has never been a best selling game.
@JHDK I don't hold anything against them I feel like almost all the games suffer from lack of polish due to rushed development cycles. Even generations felt like they rushed it in some places imo.
Funny I recall my wii getting more play than my ps3/xbox 360, I've never had a dull period with it between the vc or getting a new retail game. You just had to search for the fun games since noone advertised for their wii games.
@Eien1239 Actually it doesn't need to support the off-tv play as for the 2nd screen, it takes a couple lines of code according to the darksider's team. Nitnendo doesn't require multiplayer or trophy, so right there is a couple lines of code the engine wouldn't need.
We got to look at this as a new console and the wii remote as a seperate accessory (much like the move). It isn't always gonna be supported, even if it would happen to be nice for some games.
I think yoshi's Epic Yarn would have sounded better, since The last yoshi game was yoshi's story, nintendo could have said "yarn an epic story in yoshi's epic yarn" or something cheesy like that.
i don't personally have one, but from what i've seen the kids who play it also use them as toys so for 8 dollars you get the chracter and you can play with it as well. So tbh its more like collecting hot wheels for some kids.
Well i'm definitely picking up bittrip saga as that is insanely cheap. Would pick up piliot wing, but that is so over priced i kinda feel bad for anyone picking it up.
Say what ya will, the ds is probably gonna sale a bit for the next few years it's cheap, the games are cheap and it's durable for kids, might as well give a few more choices.
@JDesensitized it wouldn't change it that mcuh as the control is still digital though it helps in games that require your character to turn in circles ala super mario 64
wow from someone as little as a publisher for casual games, he really has no right to say things like that to a huge hardware company, especially when the other companies lost money for the longest time
Hopefully all the wii u games support the classic controller also, maybe even an updated one with rumble functions and analog triggers then i would be very happy love the classic controller
Here is what i think nintendo should do they should make one game system without the phone part and then have a separate verson without it, it would be good for phones and good for handhelds, but KEEP buttons on it

Re: Nintendo Plugs Skyward Sword HD With "Elements" Later Adopted In Zelda: Breath Of The Wild
@Classic603 I wouldn't be surprised to see nintendo do something different. Its nintendo and they'll do whatever they want tbh.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 13th)
Not exactly nintendo, but I'll be playing cyber punk and if I finish that I'll play saints row 3 remastered.

Re: Interview: "There Would Be No Control On Switch Without The Cloud," Says Remedy
@Slowdive rockstar bought the ip so it's out of remedy's hands. However I could go with a port of alan wake as they got that back from microsoft.

Re: Microsoft Has A "Very Good Relationship With Nintendo" But Isn't Making Any Promises Moving Forward
Personally I'm more than okay with the support they have given nintendo, they didn't have to do any of it.
Re: Soapbox: After Paper Mario: The Origami King, I Want More Comedy On Switch, Please
Depending on your humor the South Park games are pretty funny.

Re: Port Specialist Virtuos Ready To Help Bring Next-Gen PlayStation And Xbox Titles To Nintendo Switch
If they can do it well, I'll be very surprised tbh. The cpu front would be a huge jump let alone the gpu, 4x the memory, and the fast ssd.

Re: Buying BioShock, Borderlands Or XCOM Physically? Expect Huge Download Requirements
The only reason I would go physical for these versions is that Walmart often sells games at a discount now days.
Re: Talking Point: How Often Do You Make The 'Switch Sacrifice'?

Re: Talking Point: What Did You Pick Up On Black Friday And Cyber Monday?
I picked up yooka laylee, Tetris effect, days gone, and borderlands 3.

Re: Australian Rating Could Mean We're Getting GTA III On Switch
@sword_9mm almost all the 3d games ran bad on their original hardware and I've played them all just fine. Id love to have it on the go.
Re: Australian Rating Could Mean We're Getting GTA III On Switch
@BrettAwesome ps2 classics on PS4 run at a higher resolution than the original games. So they kind of do a remaster on the ps2 classics on the ps4.

Re: Assassin's Creed: The Rebel Collection Is A Nintendo Switch Exclusive
I figured this collection was exclusive. The two games are already available on other consoles for a while now.

Re: Early Mortal Kombat 11 Switch Impressions Sound Promising, 60fps Is The Target
I was never really worried about this. The Vita ports were pretty solid in the framerate department so I assumed WB would put this in good hands.

Re: Travellers Tales: LEGO City Undercover "Would Definitely Lose Something On Other Platforms"
@rayword45 for the same reasoning as the wii u, i think it would be hard to replicate the 2nd screen on 1 screen like the vita.
Re: Nintendo Reveals Plans For Wii U Virtual Console
@pntjr You'd be surprised i played them on my wii since i softmodded it and they look no worst than an snes game

Re: Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Races to Over 20 Characters
Miis of course, and i'd assume mario or maybe even donkey kong, if nintendo really wants too

@joco84 as an onlive user i know on some games a 10 minute demo isn't always the best because of length intros
Re: Iwata Asks Sheds Light on Mario Kart 7's Creation
