Those that were lucky enough to attend PAX East 2013 this year were given the chance to play The Wonderful 101, Platinum Games' upcoming Wii U exclusive.
The footage below features our heroes battling it out against one of the giant robots, with plenty of action and fantastic visuals on show.

Was it looking good with a release date? Seriously I wished they would tell us already. T.T
I hope they'll announce that release date during the next Nintendo Direct. I'm quite afraid that's the same demo I played at Paris Games Week last November.
Battlefield 4 has already been forgotton... Now it's time for a real original game to focus on
I am expecting great things from this game.
Was no-one from Nintendolife able to attend PAX?
It looks interesting, but it hasn't really been on my watchlist. I'll have to watch some more videos before I can commit to it.
I really want this game, but it's frustrating that what we see in the video is basically what we saw last year at E3. I would like to see some other levels and bosses instead of seeing the same old demo pop up at events.
This is only a 1 player game? I thought it was along the lines of When Vikings Attack? I didn't know companies still made 1 player games. Why make a 1 player game exclusively for a system that promotes asynchronous gameplay and has a 2nd screen built into the controller?
I still want it though. And a date. And a price. And if its disc or DL or both.
The Wonderful 101 is the reason I bought a Wii U!
I'll definitely be getting The Wonderful 101!
@rjejr Because we need our own "gaming alone" time? Thank you but I don't want every game to be multiplayer just because of it having a "feature" that can be used or not depending on the dev's point of view of their own concept of the game Yes, I do want things to play with my bro, but I don't want another Wii where it lacked such games and had more of the same party games... -_- I mean, how many of those do we need?
Whichever comes out first, this or Pikmin 3 will be the first Wii U game I'm actually excited about. I really hope it doesn't suck.
I wanted to try it out, but the crowd was impenetrable. At least I got some time with Game & Wario.
I played this at the SXSW Gaming Expo, and it was awesome.
But I liked Pikmin 3 a bit better.
@rjejr That's why devs are intimidated but wii u it has to have off tv play, multiplayer and instantly do stuff with the gamepad.
I love Platinum Games!
Madworld, Bayonetta and Vanquish are wonderful!!!
I'm cautiously interested. I hope they let you be creative with the different "forms", not just use them for some specific key moments.
@hiptanaka Highly doubt it. It's a quirky action game not trine 2(better examples I know).
One player games are the best. This game will be worth it for anybody with a brain.
@Eien1239
I don't mean like that. Action games can allow for creative use of abilities without being puzzle games. I just mean I hope the abilities aren't just replacable with "red keycard", "blue keycard".
Edit: Oh, maybe you meant the other way around,
@Beta I'm with you. I'm looking forward to this game but I also think that as much as games need a good multiplayer I hate to see single player skimped on. I enjoy playing games alone as much as I like playing others if not more so. Wii U needs a good balance of single player and multiplayer.
@th3r3ds0x Couldn't have said it better myself ^_^
I'm extremely pumped for this game Very high on my wishlist since I first saw it a while back, one of the games which convinced me to get a Wii U
I still don't really get why everyone thinks this game looks so good :-/ I don't even understand what's going on when I see footage like this. That's not to say I think it looks bad, I just haven't been able to get excited about it.
Yeah, I'm not that excited about it either.
I played it. IT'SA ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. It's a must buy for me.
I am looking forward to hearing more about it. Looks brilliant!
@Eien1239 Actually it doesn't need to support the off-tv play as for the 2nd screen, it takes a couple lines of code according to the darksider's team. Nitnendo doesn't require multiplayer or trophy, so right there is a couple lines of code the engine wouldn't need.
Is it me or do the graphics keep getting better? I didn't have much interest in this game in the beginning, but I think I may have to get this one. It looks like the movie The Incredibles.
So many games I want and yet so little money..
Really digging this.
I was watching the IGN off screen vid....and the guy was terrible....almost made the game look bad.
Literally every other vid from PAX shows off just how awesome this game will be. Super pumped for it.
Considering the Wii U eShop has it listed as "Coming Soon", I would expect a release date announcement pretty soon. We all know how Nintendo likes to keep secrets....and how good they are about keeping them....
This is the same W101 demo that was doing the rounds during the Wii U tours in the UK recently. I should know, I worked demoing it (and watching many, many playthroughs) at several tours
release date?
It looks so fun! Although I'm really starting to wonder why Nintendo has been so tight-lipped about this and Game & Wario. Wasn't this supposed to be launch-window? It'd be nice if they actually gave us a release date by now.
The Wonderful 101 is #2 on my Wii U must have list.
yeah we really need a release date on this game already jeez just look at the assassins creed game it already had trailers and a game release date in the first 2 months -.-
This and pikmin 3 are the only other games in the hopefully near future that can tear me away from MH3U right now .
