Re: Western Localisation Of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Features Costume And Age Changes

@Uzuki I still don't believe the West is still as "well-groomed" as you make it out to be--But it still doesn't really matter in this case because we've already established that they are 18 now so what's the remaining issue?

I can see the over-saturation thing. Lived in Japan for three months last spring/summer and LoveLive/iDOLM@STER was all the rage. Granted, I thought it was hype at the time but I guess if it's in your face every day.

@Uzuki "Too risque in Western views"? Who says? Other companies seem to release much more sexual content over here and no one seems to have a problem. We have games with strippers and blatant sex scenes over here, so what should some bikinis have to do with anything? I hope you're right on the DLC and it's just a rumor. But if bikinis are a no-no then I don't see how they'll do the hot springs. They gonna put them all in one-pieces and diapers? Also, what @BulbasaurusRex and @Tsusasi said about American comics and Degrassi is spot-on.

@BulbasaurusRex Lol. The game didn't even sell well in Japan, it's not going to sell well here anyway. The T-rating won't make any difference, they would have been better off not censoring anything and attracting as many niche J-gamers as possible instead of pissing them all off with the BS.

Re: Western Localisation Of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Features Costume And Age Changes

@BulbasaurusRex The whole point is that the photographer is taking lewd photos. And from how the rumors sound, it looks like they're actually going to cut that concept and dub in a whole new setting. Also, who cares if the DLC doesn't have "meaningful story content"? Fun content is still fun content. Again, this is an M-rated game, what the heck would you cut it for?

@mike_intv Who cares about stupid right-wing local stations doing a BS story? Ever looked at the sales of the DS? How badly did that report affect them lol.

Plus, you couldn't even make a case like that with this game even if you wanted to--Because the game is marketed to ages 18 and up per the M-rating. It's not marketed to children in the first place!

Re: Western Localisation Of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Features Costume And Age Changes

@BulbasaurusRex Seeing as they're changing the story of a whole dungeon and that it's now rumored they'll be cutting an entire DLC dungeon--Yeah I'd say this is pretty significant.

But yeah as you said, I love the age thing because of how ironic it is. Up them from 17 to 18 (which is completely understandable), but then completely de-sexualize them even though they now are legal and the game is getting an M-rating anyway.

@Aneira As someone who consumes an un-holy amount of J-pop, I don't think you know what J-pop is. J-pop (in a very broad sense) would be artists such as Kyarypamyupamyu or bands such as Perfume. If you don't like the vocal anthems in X, that's your own perfectly valid opinion--But those songs aren't "J-pop." They're vocal anthems blended with elements of rock, orchestral, and even rap--But that's not what J-pop is.

Re: Music: Let This Musical Tribute To Xenoblade Chronicles X Gently Massage Your Eardrums

@Aneira Most of the vocal tracks are fantastic. Yeah there a couple annoying ones, but most of them are great. If I were to tell someone about all the great songs in the soundtrack, leaving out the vocal anthems would be a crime--But just to humor you, here's a playlist of 10 amazing non-vocal tracks I slapped together in about 10 minutes.

@abbyhitter Mira is a beautiful world, to be sure, but that's about it. I felt like the battle system in the original actually took timing and strategy--X's system is just like, "Climb in the most powerful Skell and spam the best attacks." A lot of the weapon customization is just overcomplicated fluff as well that doesn't have much of a real effect on anything. I beat the whole game--Definitely gave it more than a fair chance.

Re: Review: Hatsune Miku: Project MIRAI DX (3DS)

@late There are sound effects when you hit a note and help you keep time — @manu0 is wrong. Also don't know why someone would even bother playing the demo and whining about it if they don't even like Vocaloid music in the first place. Kind of a prerequisite for liking the game.

Anyway, great review, super excited--My LE is ready and waiting.

American here--Been playing Burst, and it's a lot of fun. I like the heavy emphasis on the visual novel portion of the game...Though that does make it kind of a niche title. Anyway, I hope when/if the second game gets localized, they give it a physical release here in the states. When retail games get localized as download-only, I'm not a happy camper.

Good deal. Still disappointed GTAV won GoTY. I'm not saying that SM3DLand 100% deserves it unquestionably, but I'm tired of seeing people drool over GTA games every darn time they're released. I mean what about The Last of Us? Or Bioshock Infinite? Is GTAV really a greater achievement? Or is it just...GTA?

Re: Review: Turok: Dinosaur Hunter (Nintendo 64)

I own the original Turok, Seeds of Evil, and Rage Wars. I can definitely attest to the fact that they haven't aged well at all. With the exception of Rage Wars, the games give you little to no direction on where to go. I'm definitely not a proponent of hand-holding, but not many are going to find the prospect of wading through a large world of muddy textures trying to get a clue very entertaining.

Re: Review: Mario Bros. (Wii U eShop / NES)

Perhaps the NES version doesn't hold up as well (I can't say as I've spent little time with it) but like @Pichuka97 I have very fond memories of spending hours trying to survive just one more round of the GBA version that came with Super Mario Advance 3&4.
