Hope this comes to pal regions soon, an old favorite that I would love to play through again.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Update & DLC Scheduled for 27th August

Nice for the fixes but the disgusting blatant product placement is poor form esp from nintendo really thought they were better than that, guess they have to keep investors happy. Cars look really out of place too and dont fit with the aesthetic of the game at all.

Re: Hacker Claims to Demonstrate an Exploit to Mod a Wii U System and Mario Kart 8

mozie

As someone who recently put the original wii to rest I use devolution on my wii u to allow me to play my legit gamecube collection, least the developers added anti piracy measures to ensure a copy of the game was required. It's silly nintendo hasent enabled this feature yet while homebrewers have made it possible, There are benefits and gamecube games look great on the gamepad too!!

Re: Feature: Our Top 10 Wii U Retail Games - Summer 2014

If third party titles are included as rayman is, you could easily drop lego, wario & nintendoland and substitute, deus ex, mass effect 3 and assassins creed black flag. Otherwise seems ok although as others have said i would have swapped no.1&2 around.

Re: Matters of Import: Bahamut Lagoon Roars Onto The Japanese Wii U eShop

mozie

@Alucard83 Off the top of my head, Tales of Vesperia, Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Resonance of Fate, Star Ocean: The Last Hope,
Record of Agarest War, Magna Carta 2, Enchanted Arms, Infinite Undiscovery, The Last Remnant and NEIR were some good jrpg times I had on my xbox last gen, sure action/shooters get all the press but there all titles there if your willing to look, suprising we got these considering the Japenese gamers bias towards Microsoft, which was also the best shmup platform last gen.

Re: Sega Has No Plans To Bring Alien: Isolation To The Wii U

mozie

Idont know looking forward to playing this although I feel one of the main issues is that the wii u is seen as a second console rather than a main one, all my friends that own a wii u also have a 360 or ps3 and I think developers who are very firmiliar with the architecture of these consoles at this point are hedging their bets that most will pick it up on one of the other formats so why invest in a wii u port. unfortunately this is what ya get for bringing out a comparable console technically while there are two others that have been well established in the market for years. First party titles is what will sell nintendo hardware as always.

Re: Review: EarthBound (Wii U eShop)

It's certainly strange that the same reviewer's opinion of the game seems to have changed fairly significantly since that review in which he claims the game "is just way too plain when it comes to graphics, music, and even gameplay" and this review in which he describes the visuals and soundtrack as "captivating". I know peoples opinions can change but this drastically? or a softer scoring policy here on nl? would appreciate an explanation.

Re: Poll: Do You Follow and Watch Rival Console Reveals?

mozie

Don't really regard any systems as rival's, prolly eventually get the nextbox and maybe ps4 depending on software/exclusives, was'nt impressed at all with ps4 reveal and not expecting the xbox one to excite me either. Either way ill probably wait until theres a few decent titles out, wont jump in at launch like i did with the u .

Re: Talking Point: Wii U's Graphical Grunt is Laid Bare - Shall We Play Games Now?

mozie

I dont know, I had alot of fun across all formats this gen as I'am sure I will with the next including wii u of course but still I have to say far more of those great experiences came from 360 & ps3 than the wii, there were some great titles for sure but the waggle factor because boring quickly and the majority of titles I enjoed the most were those which placed little emphasis on wiicentric features and for the most part would have been better without them at all. I'll probably invest in all next gen hardware and hopefully wii u wont get left behind in a couple of years like the wii did. Dont think anyone thats played all three can honestly disagree that both xbox and ps3 had far greater catalogue overall than the wii which missed out on a load of great multiplatform titles. I really couldent see myself getting by with just one console whichever one it may be.

From Businesswire:
Publishing giant Electronic Arts has issued its financial results for the fourth fiscal quarter of 2012 and fiscal 2012 as a whole and, wouldn't you know it, a year with a new Mass Effect game results in revenue totals that are much higher than years without Mass Effect games.

Looking at just the fourth quarter of 2012, EA's total net revenue stacked up at $1.36 billion, a 24 percent increase over the $1.09 billion reported at the end of this same period last year. Net revenue generated from digital sales nearly doubled year-over-year, $419 million in Q4 2012 as opposed to $211 million in Q4 2011 – a 98 percent increase.

Packaged goods still made up the majority of the publisher's revenue, however, at $949 million, up from $879 in Q4 2011. Net income for the period was also up year-over-year, $400 million for the period ending on March 31, 2012 as compared with $151 million for the same period in 2011. Naturally, EA contributes its successful fourth quarter to the release of Mass Effect 3 and the continued popularity of FIFA 12.

Fiscal 2012 as a whole presents a slightly different story. While net revenue was up 15 percent year-over-year ($4.14 billion in fiscal 2012 vs. $3.58 billion in fiscal 2011), net income fell 263 percent, from $276 million in fiscal 2011 to just $76 million in fiscal 2012.
Looking forward to fiscal 2013, EA expects an approximate net revenue of $4.07 billion, $950 million of which it expects to earn during the first fiscal quarter of 2013, which ends on June 30, 2012.

Re: Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2 Will Be Download-Only In Europe

Understandable given the size of the current Wii u userbase, ill prolly pick this up on one of the other platforms now. Surprising no one has mentioned the bandwidth issues associated with digital downloads, many potential customers could be lost due to speed/size limitations. Dont think physical media is going away too soon, someday maybe but not for a while, regarding the pricing it's a moot point since the economic value of $50 is different for everybody, it may be alot for some people and nothing for others.

Re: Review: Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2013 (Wii U)

mozie

I seriosly doubt anyone commenting is actually going to play this either way, the game is awful, should have received a 2 or 3 max. The narrative (which is written by Andrew Kreisberg, who's penned Fringe & Arrow episodes) is dissapointing as is the awful voice acting and the visuals are low budget to say the least. The game reeks of a forced, rushed out title that no one should have to endure. Play every other Wii U release before this one! (and yes that includes tank tank tank!)

Re: Zero Escape Director Craves Mainstream Recognition

mozie

It'll certainly never reach mainstream when it's almost impossible to locate in highstreet retailers, I've searched high & low for a copy and it couldent be found anywhere, apparently its a GAME exclusive in uk/ireland & with GAME closing down here last year a physical copy cant be got anywherem, increidble as it sounds in 2013. Managed to snag a copy on Amazon for €30, a tenner cheaper than its eshop price, which is also a fiver more expensive than the ps stores version. Nintendo's pricing strategy is truely baffling at times.
