Re: Review: Cave Story 3D (3DS)

moosa

Don't complain that the game is short... I had to play through it at least 3 times. I think it was 4. I don't do that often. Have you actually seen everything in the game? Gotten all the weapons? Beat the REAL final boss? Seen the best ending? Found all the easter eggs?

Re: Review: Kirby Mass Attack (DS)

moosa

The Kirby series is ridiculously creative. I haven't played this, but I can say with some certainty that if you want to play something not quite like anything you've played before, this will do it for you.

Re: Activision Comes Out in Support of Circle Pad Expansion

moosa

Eh, third parties just suck in general when it comes to Nintendo consoles. Either they won't even try to do something interesting and do the same old generic controls and game features or they'll find some lousy way to use gyro controls that unnecessarily fudges up the gameplay and make that the main selling point.

Re: Iwata Resists Calls for Smartphone Games

moosa

As long as Nintendo remains in the hardware business it's just such a ridiculously BAD idea to put ANY resources into development for hardware they aren't making themselves. I can't express how stupid that would be. I was pretty annoyed when that story popped up about the investor encouraging everyone to sell their Nintendo stock because Nintendo wasn't making a stupid move like that.

Re: Iwata Resists Calls for Smartphone Games

moosa

I know there are some good games on smartphone platforms, and if I happened to own one I would buy and play some of them, but I hate the way the iPhone and similar devices have effected the industry. I'm not a purest and I'm all for new experiences, but the gameplay standard set by these devices is largely a very clear step back for gaming.

Nintendo brought casuals and non-gamers further into the "core" market with the DS and Wii consoles, and now it seems almost as if smartphones are taking the core gamers out into the casual market.

@Koops3: I think you missed this line...
"However, I believe my responsibility is not to short term profits, but to Nintendo's mid and long term competitive strength."

Re: Take a Look at Square Enix's Upcoming 3DS JRPG

moosa

@Neram: JRPG means Japanese style RPG. There's a distinctive difference between Japanese and Western style RPGs, and a western developer could make a JRPG (although certain people might make a big deal about it). What you're saying is almost exactly like saying that "anime" shouldn't be called "anime," it should just be called "cartoons."

Re: More Titles Announced at 3DS Conference

moosa

The best thing about this whole drama thing going on here is that it's all about exactly one thing, whether it's stated or not: realistic-style games with guns in them.

Heaven forbid you enjoy a game that's a little bit different.

Re: Kid Icarus: Uprising Suffers Worldwide Delay

moosa

@17 I wouldn't say it's not good. Getting it right is a lot better than getting it early. And yet it's still early in the console's overall life. I was definitely excited about this game since they announced it but I didn't want them to mess it up either. This delay again renews my hope that they're doing what's necessary to make this a great game.

Re: Round Table: The Ambassador NES Games

moosa

@Ren: "I'm a little dissapointed in the lack of outrage from NL"

Argh. Seriously? Just no.
Nintendo Life staffers, your words are refreshing after putting up with the incredible amount of complaining over this.

Re: Talking Point: The Second Circle Pad and the 3DS Evolution

moosa

I just put down my 3DS after playing a bit. I have average-sized adult hands, and the thing is too small and rectangular...

Also, it's not really Nintendo's fault that there aren't many games. What have third parties released since the end of the launch window? RE Mercenaries. That's it.

Re: You're Not Alone in Finding the First Zelda So Hard

moosa

Jeeze what the heck... I've played, enjoyed and beaten some of the hardest games out there. It's been quite a while since I played it last but I could never get past like the fourth dungeon or something in the first game. The second game I didn't get very far at all. I didn't just give up after a few minutes. I died so many times. How can you guys act like these games are child's play?

Re: Analogue Stick Add-On for 3DS Revealed

moosa

@crazyj2312: You decided $250 was worth it to you; nobody made you buy it. I paid the same price. Everyone knows that a revised 3DS will come out someday, as it has been with every Nintendo portable ever released. Nintendo continues to improve upon their products and you guys continue to complain.

Re: Analogue Stick Add-On for 3DS Revealed

moosa

Hahaha you guys are all SOOO DRAMATIC. It does look a bit weird and bulky (there is a good chance it's not a final design). But come on, why is an extra pad and buttons a bad thing? Nintendo augments their design with new features and all I hear is WHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE.

"They should have had this in the first place." Perhaps so, but this is the next best thing. If Nintendo didn't do this, you would all still be whining about the lack of a second stick and extra shoulder buttons. #neversatisfied

Re: Max Factory to Unleash New Metroid: Other M Figures

moosa

You dislike Other: M because Samus looks slightly different? Okay.

Human females tend to have wider hips than shoulders after puberty, and about 99.5% of these Asian figurines of female characters are obviously sexualized. It's really not anything to talk about regarding this specific figure.
