Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's Next Update To Be Distributed By The End Of April

Joe Merrick, the webmaster of Serebii, has this to say on Twitter about the save corruption glitch.
"Right so obviously people are wondering about the save data glitch, and rightfully so.
TPC are aware. That I can guarantee as last week I messaged them myself about it. It's very, VERY, rare. We do not know the cause. It's not GO, or buying the DLC.
I, and many others including friends who are far more skilled than I at this sort of thing, have been trying everything to replicate it to no avail. With us being unable to, I imagine Nintendo and GF would also be working to narrow it down.
Patience is needed.
So often with a new patch or a new game, we get reports about something causing save corruption. We had it with SV, SWSH, Smash and so many other games and they went away or were explained away by things (SD cards etc.).
We just need to be patient and hopefully an answer comes."

Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Version 1.2.0 Bug Supposedly Corrupting Save Files

misterflipnote

I don't know, something about this seems suspicious. The issue doesn't seem to be that widespread, and it's possible that the affected cases could be hacked games/saves or the game being run on an emulator or other non-Nintendo hardware, something that the Reddit thread neglects to ask. If that's the case, every outlet reporting on this supposed bug, including NintendoLife, should prepare to issue an apology and a retraction.

Re: Metacritic Implements 36-Hour Delay On User Reviews, To Ensure "Gamers Have Time To Play"

misterflipnote

I feel like this is not going to do enough to curtail the problem of review-bombing. Metacritic should take it a step further and require that users upload a valid proof of purchase (i.e. store receipt, e-mail from Amazon or Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft's digital storefronts) before they can leave a user review.
And if they upload a fraudulent proof of purchase, then the user could be permanently banned and ALL of their reviews could be deleted.

Re: Nintendo Will Reportedly Fix Joy-Con Drift For Free And Refund Customers Who Paid

misterflipnote

Weirdly enough, I have not yet experienced Joy-Con drift. Not sure if mine were a fluke or if the build quality is a little higher.

Only time I've ever had to send in a Joy-Con to be repaired so far was when I was having connection issues with my right one. They were able to look at it for free because I mentioned I didn't have money, even though I said REPEATEDLY that I would be willing to pay for the repair when I have the money.

Re: Talking Point: How Do You Feel About The Metroid Prime 4 Delay?

misterflipnote

Honestly, I'm a little disappointed, but I think that this is for the best. Either we could get a terrible game, or we could get something really great. I'm glad Nintendo decided to turn to Retro Studios to bring the game to their quality standards.

Hopefully, we'll get a Switch port of an existing Metroid game (Prime Trilogy?) to tide us over until Prime 4 releases.
