Re: FIFA 18 on Switch to Include Ultimate Team, EA Boasts of Most 'Advanced' Portable Version

jancotianno

We are reaching a point where people are complaining for things that they honestly don't care.
If EA released a note saying "YES, it is frostbite!" for the current game, many people would say it's fine. "Oh, it's not drawing a new animation every frame, what a lazy port!!!"... Damn... "What, no Alex Hunter mode? I'm passing this".
The sad thing about this, is everyone ignoring the reality:
Scenario 1: Your only console is Switch, and you like Fifa. This game is good for you, you'll buy it.
Scenario 2: You have a Switch and Xbox One or PS4: You'll choose between a FIFA you can play anywhere with very reasonable downgrades or if you don't care about it, you'll buy the PS4 version. If you are a maniac you'll buy both.
Scenario 3: You don't have a Switch: You'll just act like a hater, still wishing a Switch for great games you can play anywhere, as a home console or portable.
It is annoying reading so many people worried about the engine used, not if the port (or exclusive version) is good.
BTW: I have a Switch, Xbox One S and PS4 (not the pro version), and probably will only get the Switch version, because I like Fifa only for casual matches.
It seems EA did their best job trying to avoid negative effects for PS4 and XB1 sales.

Re: Ultra Street Fighter II Debuts at Third in Japanese Charts as Switch Leads Hardware

jancotianno

Capcom Logic:
"Let's see if we have enough market to invest in great games for switch.
Step 1: Release a Lazy port of Street Fighter HD, with AAA price.
Step 2: If it doesn't sell well: "Nintendo Switch audience doesn't buy our products, we may not spend time doing good things for them".
If it sells a lot: "Well, we don't have to do good games for them, we can always have a great profit with lazy ports. For Nintendo, let's focus only in small budget games (of course, selling it as an AAA game)".
Step 3: Do the same with Monster Hunter games. Honestly, the graphics of the new monster hunter are just like a regular game for PS3. Really, not even "an amazing game for ps3". Another quick cash, which is working a lot, unfortunately.

Re: Video: Capcom TV Shows Off a Whole Lot of Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers

Capcom's Professionals are amateurs. Everyone is complaining about the price. Fine.
Then, they allow the user to change the color (creating that Zombie Ken, Sick Ryu, but anyway, making Mecha Zangief possible). People won't buy the game just for that. But I have to tell you, and it's kinda sad...if they include a breast size slider (just like Xenoblade X in Japan) for chun-li and cammy, the sales would skyrocket 100%

Re: Lego City Undercover Still Has Ridiculous Load Times on Switch

jancotianno

I'm not sure about the range of this kind of article, or the impact in sales, but anyway, I wouldn't say this is a lazy port. Is just a port like they did for PS4... I mean... now it takes 50 seconds...but even if it was 30 seconds we would be complaining. Unless the developers have a secret, I don't think it's gonna be like 15 seconds (probably it could be only starting the game from scratch).

Re: Ubisoft Wants Your Input On Future Nintendo Switch Software Support

jancotianno

People...to be Honest, Ubisoft supported Wii U a lot. Really. It became a great joke regarding all "Just Dance" releases, but when EA (and others departed), even after releasing AC3, AC4, Ravin Rabbids, Splinter Cell.... they at least kept they word releasing Watch Dogs.. (also, Child of Light)... also a game that initially was Wii U exclusive (Rayman Legends),. Just like all the other companies, was all about money, but in some cases (like watch dogs) was really a matter of business honor. Totally different from EA.
But sure, price will be a factor (for WD2...)

Re: Ultra Street Fighter II Is Punching Its Way Onto Switch On 26th May Worldwide

jancotianno

Ok... Now we are facing the truth, and we can't handle it. Nobody was really - REALLY - hyped with this SF. Everyone thought it would be priced like the hd remix for ps3/x360. Then it would be something cool as a launch title. But that was not capcom's plan. And people are not sad only because of this price, but also it won't be a million seller success, and most of the people here are fed up of seeing crappy ports not selling well and reading that "nintendo customers don't buy our games".

Re: Chris Prangar, Nintendo Treehouse Staffer Who Recently Spoke About His Work, Confirms He's Been Fired

jancotianno

That's why we have obvious trainnings of privacy policies... "Please, do not talk to your family about our methods, do not post pictures of your desk without permission, please, do not explain how we are developing our future products"... But then the guy thinks "well, the truth is not harmful", and exposes things like "voice actors are random Nintendo Employees to save money, people complaining about localization don't understand they are not worth the money spent, oh, I'm working on project X,Y,Z and the boss is getting crazy!!!".... You know, these things are not a big deal, but they are part of privacy policy, and well...I'm not sure, but I think that at some point someone warned him about that.

Re: Nintendo Stock Value Rises Following Better Than Expected Sales, Amid Calls For A Speedy Leadership Decision

jancotianno

I'm pretty sure that Nintendo is not gonna be like Sega releasing smartphone games. They know very well the value of their IPs and will not release games that will avoid users from buying NX. (Eg.: if they release a great Zelda game for Android, it may be a success, but at the same time it will be the cannibalization of home consoles... "Well, I have a PS5, if I want a new Zelda game I can play on my smartphone". But games that are NOT system sellers would be great, like Dr. Mario, Yoshi's Cookie, Kirby's Avalanche (being a new candy crush, who knows?)...

Re: Nintendo Download: 30th July (Europe)

jancotianno

Meanwhile....

Microsoft-Rare will release a package with 30 games.
http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Rare-Replay-for-Xbox-One/productID.319791300

It's going to include Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Perfect Dark, Battletoads, RC Pro Am...
well... 30 games for 30 dollars...

And then we have Nintendo charging 10 dollars for a N64 game, 7 dollars for Snes, 5 dollars for NES...

Ok, the Virtual Console in PS4 and Xbox One was always a mess, but soon Nintendo is going to lose MORE market if they decide do keep the same format on NX.

Re: Orders Open For Xbox One in China as Nintendo Looks On

jancotianno

"We'd expect that Microsoft will face challenges delivering games that pass the stringent regulations and attract sales, though there's naturally a concern that Nintendo's plans for the country — potentially due to begin in earnest next year — "

"A very large number of video games are banned in the People's Republic of China. Games that contain drugs, sexual themes, blood, depictions of organized crime or the defaming of the Chinese government are almost always banned from sale. Because of the large size of the Chinese video game market, many studios will edit the content of their games to conform to the government's standards."

So, you can't release your console in China expecting that people will play GTA V, Sniper Elite III, Wolfenstein, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed....... Even Batman. The government needs to approve that. Anything can be a problem for them. EA can try to release Fifa 15 for Wii/PS4 and then the chinese government will complain it doesn't have the Chinese League, and to be approved it is needed to include their local teams. - it means work, time and money - .
If you release a game like Mortal Kombat, you'll have to remove blood from the game (remembering the first MK for Snes)...
If the theme of a game is "Freedom", probably it will be considered a protest.

Releasing a "different" hardware would be a way to make sure that this kind of games won't be played by the chinese people. Well, they could be releasing a different version of Wii Mini, and porting games like Wii Sports and Mario Kart (Wii) for them.
