I'm having a really hard time understanding why Wii Fit U isn't 'actual exercise'. Some of the balance games aren't exercise but that's because they are BALANCE games. We sem to forget that Wii Fit's real aim was oriented around posture and lifestyle not getting slim, fit and sexy. It's about activity and doing somethi8ng over nothing. Athletes aren't going to get the same effects by switching from their grueling track and gym exercises,. but the average person using Wii Fit U for an hour a day is going to find some great life changes! It's helped me, many of my friends and many I've met via the internet.
@Unit_DTH Yeah, that looked positively pathetic. I mean, you're right, PS1 quality. Why would we pay for that? Super Monkey Ball and others do the same thing but in so many ways better :/
Daytona USA was an excellent racing game which I would love to revisit in some form. This looks like a day one purchase for me as if it even vaguely resembles the adrenaline of those games, it will be a delightful experience!
People REALLY misinterpret tge market. If Nintendis doing poorly obviously its because xbox and playstation are doing better right? No, the other target a completsly different market. If ninty doesnt have tge family/younger/slash new audience no one does and that means no "hardcore" gamers in the future. without any new people getting hooked on games the more mature systems don't have a sustainable future
@rjejr amazon uk and amazon are obviously part if one umbrella but the uk us not operated byvtge sane managerial decisions. This isnt hypocricy isnt geographical differences
So I know my comments are going to get dwarfed in the grand scheme but it's worth noting still that Nintendo ha the opportunity to move into the 'way of life' if not only quality of life. For example, much like an iPad can be used to look up recipes while in the kitchen or a host of other things, so too can Nintendo do something (and i'm not specifically talking about Wii U or the Gamepad). Make a nutrition program in Wii FIt, combine the fun and feel of Cooking Mama with the use of actual cooking. Make life easier, in other words, or at least make it more fun!
I remember using the gameboy player on my Gamecube (SNES too!) and I just love playing on the TV. It's true the resolution wouldn't be the same but that doesn't mean it's not fun! I remember playing Metroid Fusion on the big screen... that was great
Super Mario DX was a fantastic game! I remember hunting for red coins and yoshi coins/eggs very fondly, however just like Super Mario All Stars or even the Kirby anniversary edition, there are things Nintendo can do to improve on the formula. Look at Luigi Bros, the bonus unlockable in New Super Luigi U. You can't even exit the game without shutting down the software because NIntendo was too lazy to include a quit game function. For the previous two examples, a little updating goes a long way, even if in just functionality.
Herein is the problem with Western mentality. No one individual is allowed to make a mistake. President Iwata with the flagging Wii U, Denis Dyack with Too Human. One mistake and burn them at the stake. Mistakes are obviously evidence, that their aoul has no more value. Mistakes, people are the method by which we grow and it is through mistakes that we see the path to greatness. What else has led to more achievement in this entire world and its vast histkry more than trial and error ans yet we ceaselessly punish those whonsee to try. Its of no wonder we sit and perish bedore attempting to succeed the way our peers sacrifice us for the thought of attempting. .
@Tender_Cutlet umm... yeah the local player thing ismt a problem woth the lack of kids. Especially simce most chinese keep theor circle of friends extremely close in terms of geographic distance. Itll be about brimging friemds over to play. As for Xbox. They are so clueless to the asian marketnits funny. They MAY attempt the 360 there but i doubt theyll see much presence at all. Look at Japan, very different yes but nonetheless a better indicator then nothing
I agree this would be far more interesting in terms of a podcast or even twitch tv. It's a bit chaotic to sit here and read everything, knowing some answers were to questions from a while ago.
@ricklongo amen brotha. Remember the days of 4+ rideable animals. I wish i remembered all their namess bit the rhino the ostrich tje spider and the sword fish! Comon!
@Peach64 Nintendobdoeant make the decision onwhich comoanies release which games. Ninty is doing the best theu can to attract a wide variety and have bit if the company who made the games chooses not to what is Nintendo to say?
@unrandomsam mostly because the vast majority of indoe games released thusfar have not had he unity benefit. Also many standard platformers dont require unity and are best used in the Nintendo Web framework. In 2014 early and late well see better unity support
@datamonkey Well that's the thing, Nintendo games don't generally have a lag. When they do however, it's part of a much larger strategy Nintendo uses. Similar to Iwata's statement on paying 3rd parties to include their games, discounting games offers the same pattern. Once you start, you just can't stop. Once a game is discounted due to low demand, we expect it. How many of us 'expect' Nintendo games to go on sale and wait to buy them at a lower price instead of top dollar? I'm willing to wager less than if we KNEW it was to drop price.
@CureDolly i havemt played the pushmo/crashmo series but ismt that true? Nintendo is almost incapable of releasing the same material twice. In most cases this is good with most sequels being a new take and keeping the series alive but in other cases Id like a true [Title] 2. A yrue seauel in other words. Same gameplay, new levels
@ikki5 Haha, good system selection! I have two Wii U's as well, and 3 3DS's all the same colors/styles as you! Coincidence? I think not, those are pretty awesome styles... As for the biggest Wii U fans? I have to agree. There isn't a NIntendo game I don't own and those only account for half of what I have. So if it really is about biggest fans, I think it's lacking, but these things are typically left to chance so don't be too offended.
@rjejr there are ALOT of differences between applr and nintendo including the very market itself. What foes apple stamfld to lose by putting safati and itunes on Windows? Im not exavtly rushing to get an Apple device forneither of those two half bit pieces of software. Why do people buy apple products? Its not simple programs like those... thats like buying a wii i for google street U. People buy apple hardware for the hardware and operating system, people buy Nimtemdo hardware for Nintendo software (most, i biy ninty hardware because i like emersive experiences). If I no longer need to buy Ninty hardware fr software what happens to that division?
@HyperSonicEXE this is something I wamted to mention. I feel Nintendo needs to emter the smartphone market. The smartphonr market meaning smartphones and not mobile games. A Nintendo made gaming smartphone would be great! Sony attempted something like ot bit it just wasnt up to par. We need something simple and classy. Nintendo could do that
