Re: Talking Point: Review Scores and Unwinnable Arguments

ivanmata

I guess a better approach would be to have multiple reviewers for every game (I think you guys do one game one reviewer) and then have those multiple reviewers discuss based a specific rubric, a standard list of criteria. You mention how the reviewer needs to assess the quality of the game even if it's not his/her type of game, I agree with that, but that I think is really hard, I recall reading your review (which received a low score compared to other websites) on f1 2011 for 3ds where a low score was given just because the reviewer did not like a single component in the game, I would agree that you can give a low score based on a single criterion if that lowers the overall game experience, so, going back to my comment I would say you wouldn't have this variability in people's opinion regarding your scores if you define and abide by a standard rubric.

Re: Does The JXD GamePad 2 Remind You Of Anything?

Looks like it would break with a couple of falls, the reason the wii U gamepad is kind of chunky is because it was designed to withstand multiple falls without breaking, they've already tested the wii U gamepad against falls and it passed the tests (gizmoslip). I agree it's a "shameless copy".

Re: EA: Excited About New Generation Which Is "Yet to Come"

It is a little disappointing, because let's face it, microsoft and sony's new consoles will be way more powerful than the wii u, which means we will not get many third party games, but on the other side, we have plenty first party games (the really fun ones with excellent gameplay), that will definitely keep the console alive

Re: Talking Point: The Future Role of High Street Games Retailers

I buy all my games at Gamestop, I don't think they will be running out of business any time soon, let's remember they not only focus on gaming, they also sell phones, tablets and its accessories, I even know a Gamestop that besides selling games sells just tablets and its accessories. So I guess they'll stick around a lot more than we think.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's New Year Resolutions

I'm worried that the wii U will have problems running next generation games, will developers take the time to downgrade their games for the wii U? Of course, I'm assuming microsoft and sony consoles will be more powerful, but this is almost guaranteed given the fact that the wii U's CPU is inferior compared to the current consoles.

I hope the console remains alive with first party titles. We wont have big third party games unless Nintendo releases a more powerful version of the wii U. Doesn't this worry you guys?

Re: Rumour: Wii Mini Console Outed By Retailer Release Schedule

Christmas gifts..... it would make a pretty good Christmas gift for the people that don't have one, I know a lot of people already have a wii console, but think of the people that have families overseas, they travel, and if it's cheap enough you'll see a lot of people buying them as gifts.

Re: Review: New Super Mario Bros. 2 (3DS)

I've played it for 3 days now, great game, fun, and the new features are great, my only critique is that the boss in the mini castle at the middle of each stage is always the same, way too easy to beat, they only increase the number of those rhinos, but it is still way to easy, I think they should have put more effort on those mini bosses. Other than that, the game is fun, I like coin rush a lot.

Re: Mobile Publisher Believes Nintendo Ecosystem May 'Fall Apart'

ivanmata

I just do not understand how mobile publishers can compare a phone with a 3ds, sure you can play crappy games in your phone, and if you call that gaming you should not call yourself a gamer, angry birds? doodle jump?......please (I know there's more to that....but still), phones are just not designed to give you a full gaming experience, the phone would have to be huge compared to the current average cell phone size, until there are cell phones big enough (which is not what anyone wants...), then and only then mobile publishers can start saying things like this, right now it's just nonsense.

Re: Review: F1 2011 (3DS)

I've played the game for two months now, I don't think it deserves a 4, it's more like a 7, due to the same AI problem, perhaps I'm giving it a higher score because I'm an f1 fan, I enjoy it.
