You would think gamestop had pre-orders for this yesterday (6/12/2013) but nope! Hopefully they will have them tomorrow.....

I expected an open world 3d mario, I'm disappointed..... that's too many side scrollers already.... : (

Surprising to not see MSG 3D Snake Eater. @Happy_Mask I agree, the controls are easy to get used to, is that the reason they did not include it though?.

I would add Metal Gear 3d and Resident Evil Rev. to my list; and wouldn't place Mario 3d that high.

It is highly likely for this to have occurred more than once in the gaming industry. In my opinion, it is okay for them to do so, what happens backstage has no relevance while playing the game, I had a lot of fun with DK64 (Perfect Dark and Conker's bad fur day as well)!

Do they own donkey kong 3d or any part of it ??? If they release a 3d donkey kong that would be a huge blow to us.

Where on earth did he get those percentages? I'm guessing he got them from Xbox users (did the 360 have backwards compatibility?). This tells you how their games do not have any replay value at all. I wouldn't want to have the old console connected all the time to play older games, and we also have to consider the people that do not own the previous console, which is the reason the virtual console was created.

I bet if they did a study with nintendo owners they would find out that a large number of them do use backwards compatibility, because the games have a huge replay value.

Guys it's the same game!! it even has more things than the portable version. I've said it before in my comments, your game reviews would be consistent if you came up with a rubric for all your staff to follow and let us see each item of the rubric, and then comment on each.... this is a clear example of inconsistency.

This doesn't make sense, the 3ds version got a 9 out of 10 and this game offers more things!!

This looks promising, the gameplay seems fun.

I love my 3ds, it has great games and there are more to come, I'm sure it'll get even better

I don't see why we should be surprised, look at how Zelda LTTP has been in development for 2 years without us knowing, I guess a new Mario 3D is likely to come.

Since I always buy physical copies I got a 16GB for the VC games, and I want to have the freedom to download a couple games that require a lot of memory, you know, just in case.

This is totally true, there is no way tablets or smartphones can compete with a gaming handheld device like the 3ds, it's just a unique experience you cannot get from a tablet or phone. I saw a kid in a plane go over 15 different games in his tablet in less than 30 min!, that proves that the quality of the games you find in an App Store is not enough to keep you interested longer than, let's say, 5 min.

I don't think it's the same people either, people that have a 3ds generally do not own more than a couple games in their phone, in my case I only have one, and its a pre-installed game XD.

I suck at singing. I've seen karaoke bars, I guess they could be interested...

I guess we can narrow everything down to two problems: game drought and bad advertising.

You definitely don't want to concentrate on the story of a game, you would basically end up watching a movie, gameplay is the most important part of a game in my opinion, with a story that just makes sense, that's the ideal game for me.

@DESS-M-8, there are lots of people that just want the physical copy and like Thomas mentioned in the article, some people will not spend a lot of money on an external drive just to download a few games.

I'm not liking the idea of forcing people to download games, this stock problem has occurred two times in a row now (I was affected with Fire Emblem Awakening). I think the majority of people still prefer physical copies.

Well good!, I watched reviews for this game and it's just a mess, SEGA made the right move.

I've used game notes plenty of times too! and yes, I got the update.

I think if they come up with an innovative fps they would; not that they should but I think they could.

Does anyone know when they will start selling consoles with the previous update already applied to the console (the one that takes a lot of time)? I remember reading something about it but can't find it.

I only use the 3ds eshop for VC games, and based on the poll it seems that not many people have gone fully digital, I'm just so used to getting the physical copy.

The game has been heavily and negatively criticized, I don't think there are enough people interested in the game anymore.

They're losing money for no reason, they are too desperate to get them off the shelves, can't they just wait until the major first party games come out?
