Re: Poll: So, What Do You Think Of Mario's Movie Voice?

iSmokeWii

@Link_of_Hyrule my ears are clean, it’s just chris Pratt doing what he does in literally every role, being chris Pratt lol jack black and KMK both put some thought and flavor into their characters voices, sadly you cannot say the same for old Crisp Rat. That being said I’ll still go see and love this movie, despite Pratt mailing it in

Re: Poll: One Year Later, How Are You Getting On With Ring Fit Adventure?

iSmokeWii

I just posted my stats in the IGN NVC Facebook group. Just "beat the game" last week, started New Game+. I've lost about 20lbs in the last month or so (I've played it every single day and stopped eating bread lol) so I cannot recommend it enough! I am globally top 10 in the shoulder press, and top 150 in dozens of others. Custom Workouts are also a great way to change it up, have the rhythm game count toward your stats, and are a perfect warm up. This is quietly been maybe my favorite Switch game outside of BoTW. I'd def pay for DLC, and if theres a sequel I will be buying it day 1.

Re: Talking Point: Does Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Rollout Of Event Updates Make It Feel 'Incomplete'?

iSmokeWii

This article seems a little pointless. Animal Crossing has always been about investing in it for months or years, like you said it isn't meant to "end" or be "beat". The people complaining are most likely the ones who put 400 hours in the first month (I have many friends that did) & got burnt out. I think AC becoming mainstream wasn't necessarily great, because now people who were never part of the AC community complain about the rollout of events because they want something different out of the game. I still play New Leaf too so I love that they kinda curbed time travel cheating in ACNH by making events new updates instead of locked into certain dates or programmed in. ACNH has been everything I hoped for & more, even my wife who doesn't game has logged 200 hours! So keep the content rolling out 🤷🏽‍♂️

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Sixth DLC Fighter Is From ARMS

iSmokeWii

@ACNHislit well if the "unwritten rule" changed than besides Shovel Knight can we PLEASE get Waluigi? always wanted a Mario RPG/Paper Mario character (especially if they are going back to the PM roots for the new Switch version), Geno? Mallow? Crash Bandicoot seems like a easy add. Even another sonic character like Dr.Eggman or Knuckles would be a pleasant surprise. ARMS will be fun im sure but if this is the final DLC pack why not get weird with it? another FF7 character. more classic pokemon even. the possibilites are endless lol

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Sixth DLC Fighter Is From ARMS

iSmokeWii

@ACNHislit nah not harsh. And even if Nintendo had more say in who the fighter packs include, my same complaint is still valid. They are giving us fighters literally nobody is asking for, and asking us to pay for them. I get that its optional, and I'm glad the game is still being supported. Just seems like they are doing it for the money at this point, it isnt about giving fans what they want. That being said, if they announce Shovel Knight as a fighter ill buy the dlc pack asap and probably cry lol

Re: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Sixth DLC Fighter Is From ARMS

iSmokeWii

At this point Smash shouldn't keep adding fighter passes if its just for characters nobody wants. How many years do we have to scream about Waluigi, a simple add, but no we get 7 Fire Emblem fighters lol ARMS is a cool concept but literally nobody I know with a switch plays it. They seem to be adding fighters just for the sake of it, it doesn't feel like the fans are getting what they want.

Re: Review: Ring Fit Adventure - Fitness Fun For Everyone

i'm about a week in and i'm really impressed with the actual workouts. if you do them right you work up a nice sweat, and the RPG elements are also pretty engaging. the leg strap has not been a issue for me at all, just have to place it a light high on the leg. i'd recommend for anyone willing to commit 30 mins a day, especially if you do no other type of exercise. this is another sleeper Nintendo hit

Re: Review: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Switch)

iSmokeWii

MK is my all time favorite franchise across any console. i absolutely loved MK8 on wiiU, so i was a little shocked im not as crazy about the little tweaks to MK8 deluxe. the 2nd item slot would be a great addition (double dash was my all time fave) but without a option to switch between items is frustrating. the added drift is a nice touch i just wish i knew about it when i first played. what bothers me most is the tweak to gameplay, which this review didn't touch on. drifting is different, if you drift too early or late it slows you up considerably. also, the lifetime player stats has been altered, removing overall wins/losses and options to display how many times you've placed top 3, or only showing win/losses with friends or people i've met online. this is a real bummer for me as i put in hundreds of hours on MK7/MK8 and i take pride in my overall wins/losses. the game is still great obviously but i feel these minor changes weren't necessary. also i wish i could unlock other things besides karts/parts. i enjoyed unlocking characters and things like that. ill still play mk8d a ton but these little changes are disappointing

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo Switch Learned A Lot From Wii U’s Struggles During Its Own First Year

iSmokeWii

@Crono1973 nah man people really didn't know what the wiiU was, and i use my gamer buddies because they actually are invested in games, but i had family members, friends lookin to buy gifts for their kids, nobody knew exactly what the wiiu was. and if your argument is "once you educate them about it" well then nintendo already behind he 8 ball. if the company can't clearly describe what their new console is, me having to tell people isn't ideal. also what i meant by the wiiu tablet looked (i should have said felt) like a cheap kids toy wasn't about color. the gamepad is clunky, kinda lightweight and just looked childish in comparison to the sleek, somewhat more robust (weight/feel wise) Switch. and yes technically Zelda was a wiiu port, but let's be honest here, it sold substantially better on Switch, and almost nobody bought a wiiu to play it. so regardless of what console it was initially developed for, it was a launch game for Switch & a absolute system seller. wiiu didn't benefit at all from it, it was more of a favor to poor wiiu owners. all that being said i had a ton of fun with the wiiU. i borrowed my buddies for 5-6 months and got to play every great AAA nintendo game, including Zelda. but that was wiius biggest issue. at the very end of it's life cycle it only took my half a year to play everything it had to offer & then some. the Switch is everything the wiiu should have been.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend?

iSmokeWii

i got my Switch about a month ago as a wedding present, & i haven't stopped playing Splatoon 2 since. it's amazing, & addicting. that being said i'm still deep into Monster Hunter:World (ps4) so ill be playing that as well. maybe ill even sprinkle in some Mario Odyssey. but it should be a great weekend for beer & lots of gaming

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo Switch Learned A Lot From Wii U’s Struggles During Its Own First Year

iSmokeWii

@therealgamer i haven't wrote on these message boards in forever but felt compelled to add my 2 cents to your thoughts. the wii u was a commercial failure, there's no way around that. sales were poor but some of the first party games were amazing. marketing wasn't why the wii u failed, but it played a part. nobody knew what the wii u was, even gamer buddies of mine thought it was a tablet accessory to the Wii. mix that with no launch title killer app (nintendoland? please), outdated specs when a new gen of ps/xbox were dropping, HUGE droughts of meaningful games, etc etc. i love indies but wiiU didn't adopt them until after 3rd parties abandoned the wiiu, indies are also on almost all other platforms, & people don't buy consoles for indies. the Switch by contrast has been doing the opposite. Zelda: Botw was a launch game, Splatoon 2, Mario Odyssey, even ports like MK8 are system sellers. plus switch is portable/looks like real hardware where as WiiU wasnt portable & looked like a cheap kids toy. i love wiiU don't get me wrong, same way i loved Gamecube to death, but both commercially were failures. doesn't mean we didn't enjoy their games or have fond memories of each. but WiiU was unequivocally a failure, and they've learned from WiiU's mistakes thankfully
