Re: Review: My Time At Sandrock - A Farm Sim Sequel That Plays It Too Safe

Been playing early access on PC and I think overall this game is a big step up then Portia but obviously there I run everything on ultra and get 140fps average. Based off reviews I will probably not get this on switch and will see if it runs better on steam deck. I did experience garbage performance when i tried on my deck in July. I agree with @Astral-Grain the review rating seems a tad bit low. They added better combat and so much more content with maybe too much tutorials than the past game. I guess it just another bad switch port unfortunately.

@Anti-Matter You got me interested in this game and now I'm addicted LOL. Never thought YTL2 would have got it hooks in me! Its my guilty pleasure at the moment. Thanks for always having a unique taste in games @Anti-Matter. Its my go to after a break from God of War on PS5 at the moment.

What it looks like to me is they put out Arceus to judge the feel and response of the new systems from the fans. Almost like a Beta. Obviously they had this in the work ready to go but were waiting on what system of game play they were going to go with. The great reaction to Arceus allows them to go ahead with this new project. If arceus had flopped I'm sure this game would of been pushed to the next year with maybe a different style of game play but more closely linked to Sword&shield.

enjoyed the 2 previous game but man oh man they get pretty hard. The art style actually doesn't bother me too much just not sure the game play is enough for me to triple dip. The price for this in Canada is quite hefty for a indie style game though $39.99 before 13% tax in my province so yeah, would prob wait for sale on this bad boy anyways.

@gcunit Personally I would say for a switch RPG farm sim game Stardew is #1. If I was talking farm sim in general speaking I play FS19 on PC with mods with a strong multiplayer community and I Prefer the realistic gameplay aspect. I also grew up playing the original Harvest moon so Stardew always holds that nostalgia for me and I also I can play co-op with my kids.

Dived into Undermine as it was on my backlog, really enjoying it as well, bouncing between that and Children of Zodiarcs which also has been sitting dormant in my backlog for awhile. Trying to not purchase any new games from a sale until I get my backlog down a bit. Will allow myself to pay for a new game if its something I want at regular price it makes you think a little before you buy lol.

@Bl4ckb100d Felt the same way as you and IM a big JRPG fan. Had so many rave reviews and I just can't enjoy it. Not sure if its the fighting or the back and forth through the island. The visual performance hurt my eyes. The other system I play on is PC on a 144hz monitor and I found this game on The switch was terrible to look at. the crafting system was meh. Really wanted to love it
