Yeah, the game still crashed on me (just after killing a boss so I thought I’d just wasted a run- thankfully it still counted) but then the lag is still crazy at times- I lost my first attempt on the 3rd boss because the lag meant there was no way I could avoid his bullet hell attack.
It’s a fun game but the Switch version has problems
Just get an older year version for the Switch. I bought FIFA 19 for a fiver for the Switch and it's the exact same game- just different names and faces
@GoldenSunRM In the other console versions there are story modes with cutscenes and stuff. Like in FIFA 20 there's Volta Football where you play 3-a-side and 5-a-side and play in different types of pitches- some with walls around them and tiny little goals- and you can play those separate to the story mode as well. It means you can play 5-a-side with the international teams and that's quite fun.
Anyway each proper release has something different like that, as well as the graphical/gameplay changes and the Switch version just has the standard manager/player career modes.
When NMH2 came out everyone complained that they had taken the (pointless, desolate, empty) open world out and replaced it with the map screen. Now they've put it back and everyone's complaining it's desolate and empty. Pretty funny.
Steamworld Quest was disappointing. It looked great but compared to Slay The Spire there just weren't that many interesting deck building options. I think the limit on deck size really hurt what could have been an amazing game. I'd love a new Steamworld Heist though
I got a split pad pro last week and while you do miss the motion controls and rumble for some games if you just want to play Binding Of Isaac or something for hours without your hands going numb, it's really nice. Nice thumbsticks, feels really good in your hands. If you know going in that you're just going to be using it them in handheld for longer gaming sessions then they're pretty good. Also the version I got was like 40 bucks, this is just more expensive because of the paint job.
I completed Ring Fit last year but New Game Plus wasn't a draw for me. Hoping they announce some DLC in the Direct because getting to the end was what was keeping me going and once I saw credits I was like "Cool, done with that" and didn't go back.
I finally accepted Persona 5 won't be coming to Switch so I started playing Royal on PS4 this week. It's so good! I'm about 10 hours in- just finished the first palace. I'd have preferred to have it handheld because of how long the game is but oh well.
The thing with Dead Cells is once I'd beat the hand of the king I didn't feel much incentive to play any more. I've defeated Hades five times and I still have so many weapons and options that I've not unlocked that make me want to play again- also the investment in the characters is so much greater than any other roguelike I've played - so that issue isn't here. Also a complete run take about 45 minutes generally. While I enjoyed RAD it took ages to upgrade in that game and a run would take about 2-3 hours. Way too long. And I love Binding Of Isaac but that game isn't for everyone- Hades is much more generous with giving you info- the codex explains everything regarding the upgrade system after a whole- so you don't need to check wikis to figure out whether to take a power up or not.
And it just plays wonderfully. I think the 10 is deserved.
I'm pretty sure the only people who like it were children when it came out so played it a lot and have nostalgia for it. I don't know anyone who likes it who was an adult when it came out.
I've done 21 runs now and so far the furthest I've got is to the final boss of the third area. That was with the grenade launcher- I am absolutely loving it. I've been in this position before though with Dead Cells, which I was really enjoying but as soon as I beat it once I was done, didn't want to do it again. Hoping that doesn't happen here and that completing a run is just the start.
@Alucard83 The motivation for exploring each area of the map is to rescue all the toads, get all the trophy things in the treasure chests and cover up all the holes. A lot of that stuff you need to do the fights in order to get to the thing you want. There's your reward. (Also you get coins)
@Moonlessky I think it does have a boss rush- it's in the battle training shop in Toad Town. Pretty sure you can re-fight the bosses in there and get those trophy things for doing it.
Having now played most of the game I don't miss the XP. Grinding is never fun so it's not actually a problem- the fun of the game is enjoying the story and the puzzles - having a number go up arbitrarily to give the illusion of getting stronger while the enemies all get stronger in line doesn't seem necessary.
Just being able to put furniture outside is a huge game changer. Might be fun to make the area around my house like an opulent mansion and put all the animals into a hellish skid row area, using piles of tyres and barrels to make the place look awful. Then I will lord it up over them.
The Tomb Raider stamps are separate to the classic British gaming ones. So that's why there's four Tomb Raider ones and one of them isn't British and whatever other questions were going on. Search for the actual stamps, it's a lot clearer.

So back to waiting...

I got the first place on my third try and haven't played it since. Didn't really appeal to me like Tetris 99 did.

My play time is 45 hours. I'm going to take a day off it, I was seeing Zag dashing about in my sleep last night.
