I don't get why casual mode was controversial. It's not like they took away permadeath. They just made it easier for new players to jump in, which clearly worked based on those sales numbers. Now there will be more games in the series and they'll have more resources to make them. All of those things should make fans happy.
@NandN3ds They should absolutely make a game that's built around using them. I'd love to see Nintendo's take on a toys-to-life game. They'd need to fix their supply chains first though.
Amiibo aren't really that useful in game so I'm not surprised kids aren't playing with them. It's not like Skylanders or Disney Infinity where the figures are an integral part of the experience. There's also the issue of scarcity and only adults are really capable of getting the rare ones. Kids won't be able to walk into TRU after school to get a Greninja. They'll be sold out.
Twilight Princess REALLY needs an HD remake. It's aged worse than the N64 games. The textures, environments and characters look terrible. On top of that they color scheme is dark and full of browns and oranges which makes everything worse. They went for a style that was so complex that the hardware simply wasn't there yet. Just look at the concept art in Hyrule Historia and imagine how amazing it would look on Wii U.
I really hope one of those characters is Snake and one of the stages is Shadow Moses. That was my favorite stage in Brawl. The codec calls were amazing. They even acknowledged it in the 50 facts video. Please give me Snake. Snake?! SNAAAAAAKE?!!!
If you're looking to play GBA games do yourself a favor and get an AGS 101 model SP instead. They'll run the games better and the backlit screen is excellent.
I'd definitely play it. There's no doubt it's trying to be like Zelda but is that a bad thing? There aren't many other companies making Zelda clones and theirs seems to be one of the better ones.
You could buy a stand alone battery for a fraction of that price. It would be able to charge things other than the 3DS too. That seems like a much better option.
I've got 19 of the little buggers on the table next to my computer desk. They're horrible. Not horrible as in I don't like them but horrible in that I've spent more than $300 on little plastic Nintendo toys and I'm planning on getting more. I don't know why I like them so much but Meta Knight got delivered yesterday and he's pretty cool.
I'm getting a cartridge so it doesn't matter to me. Part of the gaming experience is having physical boxes on my shelf I look at and hold. Amazon had a 32GB Sandisk micro SD card with an adapter for $12 during their Black Friday sale and I couldn't pass that up. I'm going to pick up a New 3DS XL as soon as my housemate pays me for his half of the bills. If I can find one that is.
I'm hoping it's got a large DLC plan like what they're doing with Hyrule Warriors. They could release level packs and remakes of levels from past games in glorious HD.
No More Heroes, MadWorld and Rhythm Heaven Fever were my choices. Silent Hill and Red Steel 2 were probably my next choices.
Okami is amazing but I got stuck on the Wii version when it wouldn't register a bomb. I'd love the HD version on Wii U with Gamepad support. It's superb on the PS3.
I'll stick with the one I got for with the Limited Edition. The quality of that thing is superb especially for $10 more than the normal version. If the Skull Kid figure is half as nice I'll be happy. Still can't believe I managed to snag one of those.
My Top 5 for 2015 (in no particular order): Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Zelda Wii U Persona 5 Quantum Break (Remedy's Xbox One exclusive) Uncharted 4
Majora's Mask is coming sooner so I'm more excited for it. That hype is nothing compared to what the Wii U Zelda will have. If they deliver on what they've been describing, it's shaping up to be my dream Zelda. It's like they took everything I hated about Skyward Sword and did the opposite.
I already have one of those 3DS game cases but it's all banged up and horrible looking. I've got 510 coins but I want to save them in case they release something like that Luigi statue again. I hate decisions...
I always have a hard time with these lists. 2D and 3D Zelda games are pretty different so I personally rank them in separate lists. I'll give my top three for both then combine them as best I can.
2D: 1. A Link Between Worlds 2. Minish Cap 3. A Link to the Past
3D 1. Wind Waker 2. Ocarina of Time 3. Twilight Princess (GC version)
Tentative Top 5: 1. Wind Waker 2. A Link Between Worlds 3. Minish Cap 4. Ocarina of Time 5. A Link to the Past
A Link Between Worlds came out of nowhere last year and blew me away. It not only surpasses ALTTP but is the best Zelda game since Wind Waker. Also it should be noted that I prefer the games where you're given freedom to ignore the main quest and just enjoy yourself in the world. Wind Waker, A Link Between Worlds and Minish Cap both do this really well. I can play Wind Waker for hours just sailing around seeing what adventures I can find.
That's also part of why I hated Skyward Sword. It leads you by the hand the whole way through and Fi treats you like you have the IQ of a goldfish. I like it when the game puts a mark on the map and leaves me to figure it out the rest.

I think Nintendo should have brought that blue XL in the US instead of the red one. That thing is sexy.
