Re: Bridgestone Responds to Sony's "Kevin Butler" Lawsuit

WesCash

@jkshaz, @Geonjaha and @The_Other_M are right.
@WhiteKnight: If you want to make a point and be taken seriously, you can't be talking down to the people you are addressing. That's not how you present a persuasive argument. Intelligence alone does not command respect.
And just because people aren't experts on a subject, that shouldn't prevent the discussion of it. Everyone's entitled to have their say. That's one of the best things about posting and reading comments on NL and elsewhere.

Re: Kevin Butler Actor Seen Near Wii Console... Sony Takes Him to Court

WesCash

Cry some more, Sony. You don't own Mr. Lambert and he has been doing Bridgestone Tire commercials (as well as many other things) for a long time. He wasn't portraying Kevin Butler and it wasn't even a commercial specifically for Nintendo.

Charles Martinet has done a ton of voices for games on all systems. Look it up. It would be different if he was using his "Mario" voice and misrepresenting the character of Mario (owned by Nintendo). But Mr. Lambert was doing no such misrepresentation of the Kevin Butler character.

Re: First Impressions: Wii U Blockbuster Ports

@Poketune
Yeah you are probably right about that, unfortunately. Most people who want to play ME3 have likely done so already or own a PS3, 360, or PC and can buy the game without spending upwards of $300 on a new console.

Re: The Binding of Isaac Creator Still Thinks the Game Could Come to 3DS

WesCash

I have nearly 100 hours on the PC version and love it!
However, I don't think a release on the eshop would get the attention and success it deserves.
It is not a game suited for young gamers. The difficulty and skill ceiling are very high, and I suppose it does contain some "controversial" subject matter.
I highly recommend picking it up on PC for those who are interested.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Digital Pricing

WesCash

These digital downloads aren't cheaper or more convenient than buying the retail version; that's the problem. I can order a game on Amazon or FutureShop and it will arrive in a few days with no extra shipping cost.

Plus I get a nice shiny box, manual, and cartridge. All of which I can lend to a friend or family member when I'm finished.

Re: Super Smash Bros. 3DS and Wii U Powers Up with Namco

WesCash

This does have me a little concerned. New characters, stages, and items related to Namco franchises would definitely be cool, but I don't want Nintendo giving away control of Smash Bros to a 3rd Party.

Smash Bros. is arguably Nintendo's most important modern franchise. They cannot afford to screw it up in the slightest.

Re: Reaction: On First Glance, Nintendo Land is No Wii Sports

WesCash

Wii Sports is vastly overrated. It was shallow and the fun did not last very long. It wasn't really even a game, more like a demo. This seems far more interesting and at least I could see it being bundled with a controller for $20-$30 (assuming it isn't included with the console). I wouldn't even pay $5 for the original Wii Sports.

Re: Pledge to Cloudberry Kingdom, Get It Free on Wii U

WesCash

I understand what Mercury9 is going on about and I do agree to an extent. I don't really care for the Kickstarter idea and would never pay to help developers make a game. There are enough quality games released that don't require me to help pay to develop them. I don't have money to throw around at every opportunity. I am not going to help a company make their game and I shouldn't have to; that's their job.

In this case, I like that people who contribute on Kickstarter will get a free copy upon release. However, for most Kickstarter projects, you WILL have to pay money again to purchase the game on release. Not my cup of tea.

Re: Club Nintendo Offers Mystery Boxes

WesCash

I'm definitely tempted. I have 700 coins right now. But I would like to know what I'm getting into. We need some guinea pigs to find out what each of the 6 varieties contain.
