Re: Poll: Have You Ever Had Problems With Nintendo Hardware?

Trvial

Oh, where do I begin?

NES: Couldn't get those darn carts to read properly. My brother battled to make the thing work!

SNES: For some reason, EVERY SNES controller we bought had shoulder button issues. We played a lot of fighting games, so that might be a contributing factor.

N64: Analog stick. Do I need to say more?

GameCube: The fan died on me after 3+ years of faithful service. The overheat basically killed my console and I had to get another one.

Game Boy: Dead pixels are so annoying in a screen like that, let me tell you.

GBA: The shoulder buttons strike again! I also feel the GBA shoulder buttons were quite flimsy in general.

DS: Both my Phat and Lite DS suffered from a flimsy hinge.

3DS: My (A) and (L) buttons malfunctioned. Curiously, this is the reason I learned to play Smash with the custom configuration I use today.

New 3DS: The (ZR) button decided to malfunction. and that was a doozy because it was constantly pressing down, with meant the menu constantly scrolled to the right, and ANY game that used the ZR button was unplayable. Had to get another N3DS after that.

Switch: I think you all know.

Re: Team Sonic Racing Drops Opening Cutscene On Switch Due To "Cartridge Size Restrictions"

A 1 minute, 50 second video... could not fit in 1.4 GB.

Hell, even if we're being generous with SEGA and the 8GB card only really fits 7.4 GB, We're still talking about 800 MB of free space.

But wait, we can be even MORE generous! What if Nintendo is forcing all current Switch games to have some space reserved for system updates over the card or some other stuff? Honestly, I wouldn't see them hogging more than 200 MB for that. That still leaves SEGA with 600 MB.

less than 2 minutes of 1080p video can cetainly fit within 600 MB. And considering that TSR is probably not 1080p, they could shrink it down further to match the game resolution, making the video file smaller.

In short, no excuse from SEGA here. The only viable explanation would be that they ran out of time and could not put the video in on time, or had to choose between working the video in or doing some bug testing or polish or something like that.

Re: Feature: SNES Classic Edition Vs. PlayStation Classic - Which One Should You Choose?

Trvial

It truly does stink that Sony couldn't be bothered to make a higher quality product. I would've been more than happy to drop $100 on a PS Classic that had quality emulations of many high profile games. Also, what was the deal with not including DualShock controllers? Games like MGS and RR4 would've gotten much use from them.

If (IF!) Sony releases a second PS Classic with DualShock controllers, a better emulator and more games that people actually want (Rainbow Six? Really, guys?), I would consider buying that. This one? Hard pass.

Re: Celeste Creator Teases Work In Progress

Trvial

Yes! Yes! All of my yes! I loved Celeste and I'm seriously considering buying Towerfall (if it had online it would be perfect). I'd buy a Celeste Maker, but if it turns out to be a full-on sequel, I might just froth at the mouth in excitement.

Re: Mighty No. 9 Developer Comcept Remains Tight-Lipped About Handheld Releases

Trvial

I think at this point we can safely assume the handheld versions are cancelled. The game ran poorly on Wii U, they've been silent about these handheld versions for a year, the Vita is all but dead and the 3DS isn't exactly making waves... All that's left is to admit that it's cancelled. I mean, is anyone REALLY waiting anxiously for these releases?
