Re: Feature: Thank You, Mum, For The Last Ocarina Of Time

As so many, many others OoT was my main christmas present in 1998. Funny thing is, i already had a NES and SNES in my posession but somehow never bothered with the top-down Zelda games for it. It just didn't capture my imagination the way that Zelda OoT managed to do by reading the many previews that got published in all these gaming magazines, they were of great importance to a gamer in a pre-internet world back then. I remember studying the sparse screenshots and concluded that this had to be something truly special. The scope of it all and graphics were unseen for any console at the time, it felt really cutting-edge for someone who didn't have access to a decent PC and Nintendo was basically the equivalent of videogaming itself for 18 year old me(actually, i sort of did have a PC, but my dad used it for work and didn't want these copied games on it because of virusses and stuff, and a PC was for serious adult office stuff, not a toy for teens to play around with) Anyway, my parents got me OoT a couple of weeks before christmas but being a present, all wrapped up, meant for the first day of christmas there was no way i could try it. I remember knowing where they hid the presents, and hyped as i was i almost went nuts by the knowledge i'd still had to wait for almost two weeks. I prematurely opened the package one afernoon when they were out, carefully removing the sticky tape and keeping the folds in the wrapping paper as much as possible in the same place. I ran around in Kokiri Village, made it to the Great Deku Tree and then a feeling of guilt got over me and i tried the best i could to hide any traces of opening it. Luckily they never found out about it so i did a decent enough job but then i wasn't so sure while putting it back.. Still love Zelda to this day, i recently got a Switch 2 mainly to finish Totk which i kind of neglected, i left it unattended for a year and a half or so knowing that a better version would be heading to Switch 2 eventually. Currently i'm back into Hyrule again and i'm enjoying the -pretty much-significant upgrade it had!🙃✌️Tnx mum and dad for buying me Nintendo consoles back in the day so i had the chance to discover the mighty OoT, and all the wonderful adventures that came after it!

Re: World Of Goo 2 Brings Gooey Mayhem To The Switch In May

Trousersnake

Hey that's a nice surprise! I had no clue this was coming! I loved the first game on the Wii, such an amazing puzzle game! The artstyle, physics-based gameplay, clever humour with a melancholic undertone and the beautiful music went all so well together! I'm not exactly a fan of the puzzle genre but once in a while i come across something that i really dig and World of Goo was one of them! Looking forward to WoG 2!

Hitman 3 for PSVR on a PS5, and The Outer Worlds dlc 1 also on a PS5. It has been in my library way too long, I enjoyed the main game some time ago and got the dlc's too, but i only had one save right before the ending battle. Not possible to start the dlc from there, so i had to restart and make my way to a certain point to get access. It meant playing through half of the game again, so i did a while ago and it pissed me off.. Forgot all about it, but now is the time to finally check what i missed the first time around..

Re: Digital Foundry Weighs In With First Impressions Of Crysis 3 On Switch

@anoyonmus I own C3 on the PS3 and clearly remember how choppy it felt, and at times refused to load huge chunks of background scenery. Crysis 1&2 did a better job at rendering the open, expansive environments in that regard.. I remember the first steps in Crysis 2 when entering the streets of New York, it was jaw-dropping and felt truly next gen for a PS3 at the time. Funny how a mobile system wipes the floor with it now..

Re: The Outer Worlds On Switch Has Been Updated To Version 1.2

Trousersnake

I initially wanted this for Switch, but the delay made me reconsider. Bought it for PS4 and really enjoyed it! Got the dlc too but i didn't have the time yet to check it out. If the update fixes the most urgent problems on Switch i wholeheartedly recommend it! If you like Fallout and Mass Effect this game is for you! Lots of little references to these titles!

Re: Australian Rating For Immortals Fenyx Rising Reveals "In-Game Purchases"

@Yanina Green blood, any remote resemblence or coincidential similarities with war-era symbolism on flags and structures is replaced with rainbows and flowers.. The npc's use oneliners such as 'nach unteren', 'ich komme wieder' and 'schnell, nach die heli'(o)s... (Sounded more legit 'greek mythology'-ish lol..) 'Developed by a multicultural team with different faiths and beliefs' bla bla 😇🤣

Micro transactions: 50 different outfits and victory dances to celebrate your successes.. In case of a female protagonist, it is rumored changing clothes shows briefly two dots that might represent a pair of nipples... Voila, mature rating explained! Jokes aside, this game gets me more excited than WatchDogs 3 and AC 28...😊 Aiming for the Switch version, it probably holds its own next to PS4 i hope..
