Re: Review: PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure (Wii)

Bulbasaurus Rex: Perhaps the term 'battle' is over-playing it slightly. The fights can last between five and twenty five seconds. Opponents' health bars aren't substantial and you can typically beat them in 2-5 attacks; especially when you start upgrading your stats. Players can repeat these as many times as they like.

Re: Sega Pondering Bringing Adult Titles to 3DS

TrevorTheChan

A House of the Dead game for the 3DS might be cool. I'd like to see a seperate lightgun the size of a grape which I can point towards the inner camera.

On a serious note, a MadWorld game on the 3DS could be a compelling experience. Imagine running around and slicing people to chunks by sliding the stylus about which acts as a chainsaw. As the body (or what's left of it) stands there wobbling away the final seconds of life, a casual blow into the mic sends the body crashing down like a sack of spuds.

Re: Great Scott! Telltale Bringing Back to the Future to WiiWare

TrevorTheChan

Sounds good to me. If these episodic games try to follow the films' narrative, it'll have too much to live up to and could even feel cheap and lazy. By setting these games in an 'alternate' world, and with Telltale Games behind the wheel, we could be in for a real treat. I wonder what genre these releases will be in.

@Prosody: Marty's "What!?" that follows that line is perhaps the greatest reaction in any film.

Re: Complete Your Living Room: My Fireplace Stoking up WiiWare

TrevorTheChan

I hope the follow-up will be "My Window", where you can choose a variety of views to look out on. Such idyllic environments like a dirty field, or an empty carpark can be yours. Or if you prefer to look out of a real window instead; and see the neighbour you hate turn their nose up at your untidy front garden... you can do that as well.

Re: Monster Hunter 3 a Roaring Sales Success in UK

@Kirk I agree it's safer to be cautious and not get ahead of ourselves, but I think the majority of us are very pleased just to see the game enter at #5. If the majority of people bought the game at launch, then it's logical for the placement of the game to hover where it is in the charts for a bit and then possibly drop by one every now and again. To see this stay in the top ten for more than a few weeks will be an excellent result.

Re: DJ Shadow Sheds a Little Light on DJ Hero 2

TrevorTheChan

@grenworthshero It's in the gamers' interest that there should be more games that utilise the mixer-turntable controller; since the whole package isn't exactly cheap. I also don't see why games like DJ Hero can't enjoy both DLC updates, and on-disc sequels. Why must it be one or the other? Are you saying that you'd prefer to download tracks to be played from your SD card, over a disc that can possibly contain 100 tracks?

Re: Turn Your DSi Into a Virtual Instrument With the 'Music On' Series

TrevorTheChan

@Adam & @Kimiko
Since it features an integrated sequencer, users will be able to 'sequence' their own verses and choruses etc. - allowing you to tinker and tweak your compositions, although these applications almost always features real time play as well. It's not designed to be 'played' with fingers, but more of a way to build compositions bit by bit, layer by layer using the stylus.

Re: Review: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (GameCube)

TrevorTheChan

I thought about scoring it a 9 but in all honesty, I think that would have been too generous. The game does have some new ideas but overall, there's too many minor flaws. Repitition is one of them. Despite these forgivable blemishes, you can't ignore the fact that they exist. On my original save file (back in 2004), I racked up over 90 hours of gameplay and you don't do that unless you want to! Let's not forget that 8/10 is still a very good score and I reiterate what I said in the review, even if you own the first and/or third instalment, this is well worth picking up. I see it as one of the gems in the Gamecube era.

Re: Dreambox Games Unveils its Debut Title

TrevorTheChan

The Art Direction does look like a beaut, doesn't it? The visuals have a little bit of Earthworm Jim in there, it sounds like it plays similar to Pikmin. And you got the whole side-scrolling platform thing going on. [twiddles fingers] Oooo...

Re: Australia Gets Black Wii & New Remote Colours

TrevorTheChan

As I understand, there are currently no plans to release the Wii in black in the US.

As cool as I think things look in glossy black (especially with blue LEDs but that's a whole other fetish), I like many of you already own a Wii. Still good news for those who haven't bought one yet, though. Atleast if my rather "standard" white Wii dies on me, I can take comfort in the fact that I just shrug my shoulders and say "I can get that one, now".

Re: Upcoming Media Summit Promises Surprises, Hype

TrevorTheChan

I agree that some Wii Vitality Sensor related news is likely. Maybe this business with the Rogue Squadron Wii game on the GAME website might even get confirmed. Oh, and the most likely that everybody's missed... the fact that Mario and Luigi have a half-brother called Giuseppe who is evil, mentally unstable, and just so happens to have a horde of suggestible minions at his disposal. Own spin-off game, naturally.

Re: The Nintendo DS in Breakfast Form

@Chibi Link
I have the same problem. I already have a copy of Strawberry Jam for the normal DS Bread, which thankfully can be played because of the DS Toast's backwards compatibility. Waiting for the collector's edition of Peanut Butter that comes in a ice glass jar.
