@SwitchplayerJohn @Xenoblade-Fan With that logic, Call of Duty and Fifa/FC should be winning the game awards every year. Maybe also throw in some mobile games filled to the brim with microtransactions.
Game popularity and sales does not equal quality. Also, only one of the Nintendo games in the top 10 even came out this year.
This is why you have to do due diligence before adding anyone from your community into the game.
It's probably why games like Fortnite or Minecraft Story mode despite having popular people like youtubers, celebrities, competitive players, etc. either rarely or never have issues like this.
@AstroTheGamosian taking feedback from players can be great... But sometimes what the players want is either too much work, not feasible or wouldn't be very good in the game.
@AstroTheGamosian I agree that Splatoon 3 does a terrible job at low level play, the amount of times I've seen new players in my turf lobbies as an S rank level 80 players is way too much. Even ranked mode apparently can be whacky at times, it's why they hide levels and ranks.
The main problem isn't splatting, it's that the game does not really have a space for low level players, even compared to Splatoon 1 and 2 which I've noticed are way less sweaty than 3.
I think it's a mixture of bad matchmaking and the game not really having anything to stand out for casuals to buy the game if they already have Splatoon 2 so the game is mostly filled with the core fan base.
@AstroTheGamosian a no splat turf mode would be quite awkward to play.
People would just be forming trains behind people just trying to reink what some has already inked as there is no way to move or deposition people without splatting. Also an entire subset of weapons would be useless in this mode.
It sounds alright on paper but in practice, it would be awkward.
These quality of life changes are surprising, usually they gatekeep these for the next game or after the next game.
I like to see that they are making more major changes to the games within updates instead of having to wait for the next game to come out. Seriously having to go through 3 different Splatoons to be able to skip the news was not fun.
I don't care how many units they sell, just as long it's enough for them to keep making consoles in the future.
If the Switch 2 wants to meet or surpass the Switch in sales, I think all they need to do is nail the name, marketing, have some unobtrusive gimmick and be more powerful.
Many people would probably love a handheld with the power of the Steam Deck but without janky software. The handheld space right now is really similar to home gaming, we have PC gaming/Handheld PCs and then we have the consoles/Switch. The PCs have more power and can do more but the consoles are just plug and play and simple to set up. Depends on what you want.
The best way to combat the longer development cycles is to stop focusing on hyper realistic, physics and graphically intensive games. Games like Red Dead Redemption 2 is the worst for this, making snow physics that is so well made that they never clip with any model is kinda unnecessary. I guess PlayStation fans do expect this though, they get angry if Sony dares to reuse one asset, or if physics for a random barrel of apples is too unrealistic.
Thankfully Nintendo has not fallen into this trap, they don't care if physics slightly clip with models, and they don't usually go for hyper realistic art styles and graphics. They focus on gameplay which is the most important part and it decreases dev time instead of trying to make snow hyper realistic.
I am shocked that repairs for the Wii U has lasted this long, but to be fair, there are not that many Wii U's out there and they are built to last using the classic Nintendium. They probably barley had to use a lot of the parts.
Nintendo fans are so oppsed to this but if Apple actually manages to hit this out of the park, Nintendo would actually start trying to improve the Nintendo Switch in many ways

Re: Surprise! New Splatoon 3 amiibo Are On The Way
I don't care too much for amiibos but the grand festival looks genuinely amazing.
I think Splatoon JP mentioned that this was the final fest or it could be Google translate being wrong again.
Re: Splatoon 3 Fresh New Update Now Live (Version 8.1.0), Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@CaleBoi25 The only thing I can think of is maybe a way to fling people away? But either then that is almost the exact same as splatting.

@TheFox strange, I've never had any problems with my Wii U compared to something like the Switch.

Re: Mediatonic Accidentally Leaked The Fall Guys Source Code
@ItsATM yeah, as soon as the game got big they started hiring people but that takes time, so they had to do Season 2 with the orignal 20 people.
Re: Mediatonic Accidentally Leaked The Fall Guys Source Code
@ItsATM thats because they were only a team of 20 people when Season 2 came out but now they are a team of 150+ people
