Re: Editorial: Nintendo is a Toy Company, and That Will Be Vital in a New Era

TheGoof

I disagree a lot with this article.
Nintendo needs to also make sure their console is both powerful AND has an edge.. AND has tech inside that developers will want to bother with.
One big complaint about the Wii U is that they CPU inside is a pain in the ass to port games to.
So the NX supposedly will have an X86 inside.
Despite what people say.. gameplay alone does not matter... it's a relationship of sorts between gameplay, visuals and sound and architecture.. if one falls short of another.. then hardware is not as likely to succeed.

Re: Freedom Planet Wii U Fix Making Progress, GalaxyTrail Aiming to Reveal Release Date Soon

Looks like Sonic if Sega had made a 32 bit 2D sega saturn Sonic game.
In other words, the colors and effects and such scream sega saturn, while looking like a sonic game.
Shame sega never actually MADE a 2D sonic game on the sega saturn.. they just ported a sonic collection to sega saturn in the form of Sonic Jam.
I wish Sega would just make more new 2D sonic games and stop trying to thrust sonic into 3D.

Re: First Impressions: Trying to Believe in Devil's Third

I watched the gameplay footage, and it looks like a hell of a fun time to me.
I plan to buy it.
It's pretty much what i expected it to be.
Feels kinda like batman mixed with some streets of rage, and plenty of blood splattering and gore.
I can't f*cking wait to buy it!

Re: Talking Point: Raw Power Isn't Vital to Nintendo's NX, But It Does Matter

TheGoof

My assumption is that it could mean power consumption.
Nintendo is constantly worried about having a console that needs too much juice to run.
For many reasons, but one aspect is keeping it cool.
But if my theory is correct. the NX will be a handheld that can act as a home console.
Which is probably an idea they got from consumers who kept thinking the Wii U tablet could be taken on the go.
Another idea is that, Nintendo's handhelds tend to do better, and the home consoles do so so....
So if they combine the 2, it could mean a bigger better market.
I mean, it IS getting to a point where some tablets and even smart phones can hook to TVs in some form or fashion.. allowing games you play on those devices to be shown on a TV.
Maybe Nintendo plans to sort of go with that, but go at it from a different angle.
All i know.. is i'm slowly losing faith in them..
Specially with the news that Nintendo did not want to publish devils third in the US.. which is F'ing ridiculous..

All we can really do is sit.. and wait.. and see.

Re: Review: Don't Starve: Giant Edition (Wii U eShop)

TheGoof

I can't stand this damn game..
Feels like a waste of money.
And also feels like theirs no point.
No real objective other than to survive.. and that's it.
Why am i trying to survive?
Why does it matter?
It feels like it does not matter.
Who ever made this game, ugh.

Re: Take More Risks With Your eShop Purchases, Pleads Nintendo's Damon Baker

TheGoof

He's kinda right.
The only game right now i am gonna get is Freedom Planet.
A very sonic inspired 16 bit 2D platformer.
But the reality is, i just prefer those kinds of games, and i always have.
Maybe Nintendo should stop complaining, and just put more of the types of games that sell.
I just REFER 2D games over 3D.
There are a lot of eShop games i look at and go "looks boring" or "i don't get the gameplay, what kind of game IS this?".
Freedom Planet i can take one look at a screen shot and go "oh! a platformer like sonic!".
Sorry fella, i'm just a VERY picky gamer, and i happen to prefer games i can wrap my brain around and enjoy more easily.

Re: Review: Breath of Fire (Wii U eShop / Super Nintendo)

TheGoof

You have it backwards up in the upper right hand corner where it tells information about the game.
Publisher: Capcom
Developer: Squaresoft
That's wrong, It was developed by Capcom, but Squaresoft originally published it here, Capcom was not willing to try and make the series work in the US at the time, and Squaresoft wanted to put another RPG in the US market while it was hot... so they offered to translate and publish Breath of Fire in the US.
It did pretty good, so then Capcom brought the sequels over themselves.
So it should be.
Publisher: Squaresoft
Developer: Capcom
I know all this stuff, i used to own a physical copy of the US version of the SNES game, even the manual said published by Squaresoft.

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U May be Best as One of Two Consoles, Just Like Wii

TheGoof

I already got a beast of a PC for all the "hard core" games...
But for all the fun quirky stuff, and for all the Nintendo only IPs, i have a Wii U.
Still got a PS3 from last gen to.
Even got a few REALLY old consoles from way back when...
Hunting and searching for a Sega Saturn though... i LOVED that console.. sad it did not work out so well...
