Re: Mini Review: Handy Hockey (Switch 2) - Mouse Mode Multiplayer That Does Exactly What It Says On The Tin

Talkshowhost

@ATMVF The issue is not that the mouse mode is not enabled, it is that the orientation is all messed up.
The horizontal table mode is supposed to be so the players can sit at their side of the table and play as if it were a real table. This means the controls need to reflect this, so a slide of the mouse joy con towards the switch should move the bat 'up' the table.
This does not happen and the mouse behaves as if the Switch 2 were just being played normally and not in this unique multiplayer configuration.

This mode was the only reason I brought the game.

@JaxonH I know we didn't realise it at the time, but we were seeing the evolution of gaming. It's always Nintendo that innovate too. They always impress with their new hardware, even if, in the case of the Wii U, developers never get to grips with it.
The Switch is what I've always wanted. A true, uncompromising gaming experience on the go and multiplayer that you can carry around with you.

I like all the support from the people on here in the 30+ club as they, like me, are privileged enough to have seen the games console evolve and for us to become advocates for games: past, present and future.
The Switch is a real evolution of what we have seen before and I think the move towards digital releases will help developers to get their games out there. Fast Racing Neo was one of my favourite Wii U games, for example.
It's an exciting time for gamers and Nintendo.

Re: Parent Trap: A Family Gamer's Perspective On The Nintendo Switch

I'm sure as soon as a few kids start getting the Switch and showing it to friends they will be able to show off how different it is to a phone or tablet.
Convincing parents is going to be more difficult.
I'm a huge gamer and have been since I was about 5. My wife, on the other hand, only occasionally played her brother's games growing up. To her the Switch is just another console and not that impressive.
I'm aiming to win her over with 1 2 Switch and Snipperclips. I figure that in playing games that use some of its unique features then she will realise how significant the console is moving forward.

Re: Hands On: Trying Out the Nintendo Switch on its Public Tour

I went to the Birmingham event last week and it was great to see the console working and to experience the different configurations.
Whilst I was very impressed with the three games I tried (Zelda, Mario Kart and Splatoon), I was a little disappointed with the HD Rumble on all 3. I know that 1 2 Switch is the showcase for the feature, but I would have expected a new experience regarding rumble in those 3 games too. The rumble was no different to my PS4 controllers, in fact it was a little less intense, even when sliding in Mario Kart.

The grip for the controllers is essential in my opinion. When I played the Switch on Saturday it was quickly apparent that Zelda and Splatoon 2 use the motion of tilting the controller in order to aim. This would not work if the two joy cons were not in a grip.
In reponse to people who can't see the point of the charging grip. If you have a second set of joy cons, you are going to need a grip at least, which costs £10. The downside to this is that the Joy cons cannot be charged unless they are connected to the switch. But my other set of joy cons are going to be hooked up to my console. I know you could take them out, but I want them to be fully charged most of the time so I can take them out with me to play with work colleagues. The charging grip will allow me to charge both joy cons and also acts as a grip, effectively only costing £17 more than the normal grip.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Countdown - Considering the Joy-Con

I'm excited to try the HD Rumble as I wasn't even clear about what it meant until a week ago (when my preorder was already placed).
The possibilities are quite broad and even standard games could use this feature quite effectively.
It would be nice for games to feature sections that entirely rely on the rumble to negotiate, just to add an original element to them.
