Until now, some gamers in PAL regions have looked on enviously as their North American counterparts have enjoyed Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked on 3DS, an expanded and improved version of the DS original from 2009. There's good news as publisher Ghostlight, a specialist in bringing Japanese games to the PAL markets, has stepped into the breach.
As well as the 3DS title, Ghostlight will also publish Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 on DS, so fans of the series will be able to enjoy the sequel as well. There aren't any details on a specific launch date within the press release, but we'll keep an eye out for any announcements.
We had a lot of good things to say in our Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked review: are any of you PAL gamers hoping to pick up a copy?

YES!!! This is fantastic news! I'll definitely be picking these up.
I'm not really that into anime videogame adaptations (I wouldn't really be able to appreciate the game as much as a fan of the show would), but a publisher who specialises in bringing Japanese games to PAL regions can only be good news for us in Europe.
@edhe They're not based on an anime but there have been two games in the series which had any anime based off of them which were Shin megami tensei: Persona 3 and 4.
Oh.
Well in any case, I hope Ghostlight don't stop at Shin Megami.
And having skimmed the review, it sounds like a Strategy RPG in the vein of Tactics Ogre or Final Fantasy Tactics, which I'm quite partial too.
(God knows I need to expand my 3DS library a bit)
@edhe Just an FYI, not every SMT game is like that. Its split into various sub series with Devil survivor being one of them. Most of them aren't SRPGs but the Devil survivor games are.
This is amazing news!
I'll be definitely picking both of these up.
Hooray, Ghostlight. Now you guys won't be missing out on two great games.
And just so you guys know, they're already bringing over Persona 2 and Persona 3 for the PSP, which you guys should definitely pick up.
Good news for you guys in Europe. Hopefully yoy also get radiant historia. I don't believe it was released there.
YES! Bring it on!!!
I am not sure if I'll get these games since I am more in traditional j-rpg and not in s-rpg however I think that Ghostlight is one of the best rpg publishers these days in Europe and I give them a lot of credit for that. In recent months they released Persona 2, Persona 3 Portable, Legend of heroes trails in the sky. Fate/Extra will come next month along with re-releases of Digital Devil Saga 1+2.
Great news. Overclocked is coming home for sure and if it delivers DS2 will follow.
Ghostlight, bring Radiant Historia!!! I beg you!
Always Great To Hear , Keep It Coming I Say.
THANK GOD! About time 3ds gets something worth playing in europe. I guess I'll forgive Nintendo for the region lock then.. At least for the time being.
Also for you non-importer European people, get Devil Survivor 2 it's the 2nd best game on the whole DS library only behind SMT: Strange Journey.
@expa0
i will get the second one if it gets a 3ds version, i have yet to finish the first one on 3ds
Didn't think they'd come and imported the two DS games. Now i could kick myself 'cause it's not likely i'll ever get the expanded Overclocked. Guess it will always look to expensive for me now.
Nano Assault next please.
SMT: Devil Survivor is the only DS game on my shelf that I haven't put any amount of time into. Someday, I'll get around to it.
I hope Ghostlight also brings us Virtue's Last Reward.
Speaking of which, Nintendo Life has time to review 'We Sing Pop' while a stellar game like SMT: Devil Survivor 2 is ignored?
@Pixel-Perfect: Remember that Nintendo Life is a UK-based site; sometimes we wind up waiting for the EU release of a given game (and thus its availability there) before we see a review. :3
I do remember, but Overclocked is (or was, now) in the same boat and it managed to get a review.
I think you missed the 'sometimes' part of my statement. Thankfully that wasn't the case with Overclocked, but it seems to be the case here with DS2. :3
Congrats, PAL gamers. Speaking as someone who's played both, you're gonna love 'em.
YES! Dreams come true!
YES!! I have been praying for this to happen <3
Devil Survivor 2 is not likely to get a 3ds makeover as they have stated thier reason for doing it on DS was because it covered both systems and the DS had a larger guaranteed install base. A 3games were fantastic though SMT DS2 was actually better than 1 IMHO.
YES sooooo exciting!!!!!!!!
