Kid Icarus: Uprising lands with six augmented reality cards, but there'll be more than half a dozen available in the grand scheme of things, as Nintendo of America will host events to make new cards available.
The official Kid Icarus: Uprising site simply says:
Check back on this site soon for info about special Nintendo events where you can trade, share, and obtain new cards.
So there you have it. Check back on this site soon for more information, too.

This will definitely be interesting.
i guess pokemon like packs were a bad idea huh.
You don't seemed to have mention that there are hundreds to discover
I wanna be the very best
Like no one ever was
To catch them is my real test
To train them is my cause
I'm hoping they become a Club Nintendo rewards, but I know I'd go out and purchase them.
There are hundreds and yet they're only giving us 6?!
I smell a $$$ opportunity
OR you could get people to take pictures of new cards put them on the internet print them off saves the trouble of going but one bad thing this way doesnt get you any streetpass
@NintyFan
I know what you mean...I am in West Virginia so I can forget about any events coming around here.
"...lands with six augmented reality cards, but there'll be more than half a dozen available in the grand scheme of things..." Haha, it lands with six, but there will be more than six overall!
@NintyFan yeah, I live in Ohio, so I never get to see any events either. But maybe, if only once, I'd like to go to the E3. Anyways, the AR cards look really interesting. I will certainly pick up more if they sell them in packs.
I'm still stuck on what was said about the cards are defaulted to who can beat who. That's pretty lame to me... or has that story changed?
"lands with six augmented reality cards, but there'll be more than half a dozen available in the grand scheme of things,"
Comes with 6, there will be more than 6 eventually. Got it.
Well, at least I won't have to worry about buying packs of cards with so many duplicates of cards I already own.
If it's a location event, I'm going to be pissed and it would just make me further dislike the way NOA has been running things. Not too fond of Club Nintendo either, but that's really the only option while ensuring that no one gets a duplicate set and that no one gets screwed out of getting the cards.
Will Nintendo Life have pictures of all of the cards so i can copy and print them off?
Oh, no! They're giving them away at events?
That means you have to live somewhere near one of their event places if you want to get all of them!
I know you can just print them out, but I still wanted to collect the entire set...
I'm quite excited. The game looks fantastic so far. In my opinion, I think Nintendo has the potential to make AR cards available as a products, and not just something that comes with the 3DS and or random games, but think about this, what if Nintendo sold AR cards in booster packs, and each card had some sort of ability when you click a button on your 3DS. I think this would be a great idea.
Very, very cool. I hope they give us a few in the game case or something, then it'd be awesome.
@gamma That's a great idea. I would gladly buy packs of AR Cards. This is more off topic, but wouldn't it be cool if they made some kind of downloadable Yu-Gi-Oh trading card game on the 3DS and then we could scan in our cards from real life somehow and put them in there? But if we can't do that, something else. I just want to have a cool AR Duel with a friend in 3D.
@ryanthehedgehog Nintendo could also implement this idea for a Pokemon TCG game. I wonder why they don't think about this stuff in the first place. Sometimes I think Nintendo should listen to their fans a lot more.
They would have a ton of new ideas if they did listen to they're fans.
Angelicards.
@Rockmirth
I will travel across the land
searching far and wide
each pokemon to understand
the power that's inside!
As long as we can, like, purchase them all in one big pack. I don't want to spend money on random sets, and the chances of a tourney or giveaway without at least an hour drive is roughly 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000!00000000000000000000000000001%.
I think this will be a half-arsed feature for anyone outside of Japan unfortunately
hopefully i get events around me, i am never near the big events but my local gamestops usually have the smaller events. Hopefully they do these too!
they said "more than half a dozen", where are you getting hundreds?. 7 is more than half a dozen, more than 12 would be 'more than a dozen', I would expect no more than 8 or so.
Just received my Club Nintendo cards today, one of them being Peteluna (sp?) it says "rare" under it.. hrm...
