Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (15th July)

Stevie

@3DPro - I have a hunch that you have some affiliation with JVgames, nobody in their right mind would defend this company that in my opinion are releasing games without really caring about the quality just to make a quick buck. Think about the poor naive youngsters that are possibly spending a weeks worth of their pocket money only to be disappointed by some half-assed attempt at a game.

Re: Punch-Out!! Gets Date Down Under

Stevie

Wow, i was unaware that this had not being released in Australia yet. I fail to see the logic behind this, surely all they have to do is release the EU version or change the region coding for the NA version, seriously where is the difficulty or extra cost in making these very easy changes in order to sell more copies. Sometimes i wonder if Gibbons run the Nintendo marketing department.

Re: Review: Incoming! (WiiWare)

Stevie

Nice review CB, brutally honest and entertaining at the same time. I hope someone from JV Games reads this and asks themselves some serious questions. For us at NL it is ok as we would not touch this game with a ten foot barge pole now, but for people who don't know any better and actually buy this game, well they are basically being robbed. If i worked at JV Games i would not be proud to put my name to this POS.

Re: Review: Deadly Creatures (Wii)

Stevie

I bought this game on release and really enjoyed it, it is a little short and i only had a few problems with the camera in the last few levels, but i could live with these problems as the game itself was amazing. It is best played with the lights off and surround sound turned up as this makes the best of this games great atmospheric immersion. The Rattle snake battles were my favourite part.

Re: Competitions: More Twitter Fun

Stevie

I still refuse to join Twitter, anyhow you should all follow @nintendolife because they have an obsession with getting people to join Twitter with the allure of free points

Re: Review: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (Wii)

Stevie

I am now looking forward to buying this even more than before, i've heard nothing but good things about it.

Just wondering why all the screen shots are of disc golf, i take it that is your favorite part of the game

Re: Competitions: Twitter Joke Winner

Stevie

The joke is lame but lame jokes happen to be the ones that make me laugh the most, my favorite being :- What's white and can't climb tree's - A fridge. I am sure if i could have been bothered to join twitter and enter that joke i would have won for sure

Re: Dragon Master Gameplay Video

Stevie

Way too ambitious for Wiiware, it looks like a poor N64 game and i bet the camera controls and gameplay are of the same quality. You just can't make this kind of game good with Wiiware's limitations.

Re: Luigi WAS in Super Mario 64

Stevie

I used to find fake cheats very ammusing, crazy stuff like tap the X button 65 times to the tune of Jingle Bells to see Lara Croft naked in Tomb Raider. As for Luigi in Mario 64 the camera control wasn't great as it was i can only imagine having 2 players would have made this 10x worse.

Re: Molyneux: Nintendo Made Rare Too Secretive

Stevie

Molyneux should have learnt his lesson about spouting his mouth off after the original Fable. Not saying it was a bad game but it didn't have 1/2 of what was promised such as trees that grow as your character ages etc.

Re: New Frobot Teleporter Video

Stevie

Reminds me of a Amiga game i used to have, not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. This game does look a bit bland, there just isn't enough going on, however i will reserve judgement untill it is released.

Re: WiiWare Poker Game Too Sexy For Australia

Stevie

@ Adam - I believe the Wii Parental Control would prevent minors from downloading a M/18 rated game, assuming they are set. It is only the same as the internet, if parental controls aren't set, the chances are kids will look at things they shouldn't.

Re: WiiWare Poker Game Too Sexy For Australia

Stevie

This game is going to be poor so you are not really missing out, however it is the principal of the matter that is important here, if this can happen to a mediocre wiiware game that isn't exactly showing graphic pornography then there is something wrong and it is definitely over-censorship and an infringement of peoples free will in my opinion.

Re: First Impressions: Let's Tap

Stevie

Why is it stupid because it involves tapping, if it is incremented well to make it a good game then that is all that is important. It is like saying "A game where you don't press any buttons just move your hand slightly is stupid", but Bit.trip Beat uses this and is a great game.

P.S I wonder how many of them boxes you get with the game, or can you just use a empty cereal box?

Re: NSFW: Zelda, Peach and Samus Shed Clothing In The Name Of Art

Stevie

As mentioned above this article was clearly marked NSFW or kids and i think the article and the picture shown gives a indication of what you may see if you do click the link, so if you think it may not be your cup of tea, don't click it simple. As far as i am aware this site covers a large demographic of users and so some may be interested in this type of thing.

I can never understand why people who don't like (example) Joe Bloggs Blog feel the need to read every new blog entry and leave a comment saying "Rubbish as usual", or if they don't like a band they still go to the new video on youtube and say X band are crap and so is the new song. If you know you don't like something why would you look at it?

Any hoo, it didn't relinquish any of my childhood fantasies, and female link was a bit disturbing.

Re: Review: Mario Kart: Double Dash!! (GameCube)

Stevie

This is my favorite Mario Kart of them all, you could be more strategic with the weapons and save one whilst still being able to pick up and use another. We used to play this at my friends flat constantly, and to stand any chance of winning you had to be what we called "flat trained". If you were not flat trained it didn't matter how many lightnings/blue shells you collected, you would be lucky to win 1 in 100 races.

Re: Some Red Steel 2 Sword Worries Squashed

Stevie

It's like they beat Capcom to the punch for a first-person Devil May Cry. Are you just gonna take that, Capcom?

HaHa - Thats fighting talk where i come from !!!
