Re: Review: Sudoku (DSiWare)

Stevie

Thats one comprehensive write up for a Sudoku game!! This looks to be the best of the bunch so far.I wonder when we will recieve another thrilling Sodoku game

Re: DSi LL Coming To Europe First Quarter 2010

Stevie

It's starting to get a tad rediculous the number of DS models that have been released, this one especially considering it is not long since the DSi was released, all it will do is annoy current DSi owners who will not want to buy into Nintendo's next generation as they will worry that a superior model will be out in a few month's.

Re: Top 20 WiiWare Games in USA (28th Oct)

Stevie

I'm sure it must be some inside joke at Nintendo to keep these fishing games at/near the top of the charts.

Glad to see a little more order this week though with 3/5 of the top 5 being actual decent games, lets hope Lost Winds 2 keeps the top spot for a while!!

Re: UK Retailers Give Muramasa a Miss

Stevie

I checked on Play.com last week and they had it available for Pre-order for £24.99. This is not really a big issue for me as I nearly always buy my games online now, you can usually find the game you want for cheaper, don't have to move from your house and quite often get games a day before the official release date if you Pre-order.

Another thing is if you see a game that looks interesting you can read reviews online straight away rather than having to wait till you get home or asking store staff for their opinion (never buy a game off the merit of store staff)

Re: Be a PAL - Become a Connection Ambassador

Stevie

An excellent promotion, but as is the case for many people finding somebody I know who is not connected to the shop channel but has the required hardware will mean I will never get anywhere near the quota for free stuff

Re: Review: Mini Ninjas (Wii)

Stevie

Nice review TBD, its great to see the review team growing at Nintendo Life along with the site itself whilst maintaining a high standard.

This game had completely slipped under my radar and this is the first I have heard of it, it may well be a future purchase for me know after I have cleared the backlog of games I need to buy and complete.

Re: Review: Shootanto: Evolutionary Mayhem (WiiWare)

Stevie

But is Shootanto the right fertilizer, or is it just another case of a WiiWare game developer flinging poo at anything that moves? That was funny as was the bit about the classic controller

I am in two minds about this, but should have plenty of time to make up my mind as I await European release.

EDIT - @Ezekiel below, I haven't a clue what you mean Untitled

Re-EDIT - Agghh Ezekiel now I see what you mean, the pics have Japanese text, probably due to the staff of NL being lazy and using the pics they had before western release instead of taking new pics

Re: Muscle March Marches Westward

Stevie

Wow, Nintendo have excelled themselves in the past few days, first news of the black Wii and Classic controller Pro coming to the EU, now this, great news !!

Re: Rumour: New Mario In the Works?

Stevie

@Stuffgamer1 - I didn't bother to check out the Twitter account but even if he has had the account since June it could still be fake, remember this is the internet where a lot wierder things happen daily. I refuse to believe it until a trusted source reports it with evidence, Nintendo fess up, or the man himself makes a statement backing up this claim.

Re: Rumour: New Mario In the Works?

Stevie

The shiny bits are the light reflecting from Waluigi's eye's

I'm sure there is some Confidentiality agreement between Nintendo and Martinet, this is common place for most entertainment companies, be it Games, Music, Movies or TV. And we all know how Nintendo like to play their cards close to their chest.

I will await word from Martinets Mario Mouth before believing this.

Re: Rumour: New Mario In the Works?

Stevie

@V8 Ninja - I don't think the voice actor would be stupid enough to even reveal one of Ninty's big secrets, when I say it is a hoax I mean I don't believe this Twitter account belongs to Charles Martinet, I think it is somebody posing as him and creating false rumors. I guess we will find out soon enough.

Re: Nintendo Super Guide Mode in NSMB Wii: The Details

Stevie

After all the negativity shown towards this new feature I am glad to see that actually it is going to benefit everyone, not just dumb down games to appeal to a wider audience.

As for guide companies I think the internet has already done its damage with sites like Gamefaqs.com offering free guides.

Re: Review: Golden Axe (Virtual Console / Virtual Console Arcade)

Stevie

Cheers Damo, so I'm assuming then that the Master System version had even less levels?? SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!! If i strain my memory hard enough I believe it ends just before you travel on the turtles back, in the Amiga version you get to cross to the castle on the turtle, fight previous bosses from all the previous levels before one last boss fight. If the Mega Drive version has extra levels to this I am downloading it now!!

Edit - @ Betagam7 - Hmmm now I am stumped on how to relive my Golden Axe memories, extra levels or quality, I will await more comments to sway my decision

Edit again @ Betagam7's comment below - unfortunatly I own neither a PS3 or 360, is there a PS2 alternative ??

Re: Review: Golden Axe (Virtual Console / Virtual Console Arcade)

Stevie

I only ever played the Amiga and Master System version of Golden Axe and it is a game that i have fond memories of, however i am slightly confused about the extra levels. Would I be correct in saying the arcade version contains the same levels as the Master System version while the Mega Drive version contains the same levels as the Amiga version? Help here would be appreciated.

Re: Braben: Many Wii Owners Don't Realise They Can Go Online

Stevie

Having a gaming console connected online is still a relatively new concept to a lot of people, but the new incentive from Nintendo EU has effectively turned me into a Nintendo rep, I would like to see Nintendo NA follow suit soon, it can only benefit everybody.

Re: Rugby League 3 Announced for Wii

Stevie

I can't see sales been to great for this, it is a bit of a niche market.

At least with it been Rugby League and not Union they won't have to include blood capsules

Re: What LucasArts games do you want to see on Virtual Console?

Stevie

I want all their SCUMM games, mainly Maniac Mansion, Monkey Islands and Loom, I would be happy with some sort of Compilation on Disc or VC/Wiiware ports. Hopefully with Tales of Monkey Island currently sitting at No1 in the UK Wiiware charts we will see some of the originals hit the Wii.

Re: Nintendo Sales Drop as Global Economy Goes Down the Crapper

Stevie

Of course hardware sales are going to be down, a lot of people who want a Wii will have already bought one and there hasn't been any price drop, not to mention the exchange rate that means they make less profit from other regions. It would be crazy to expect profit to remain at the same level for a console that is 3 years old, i would expect profit to continue to drop or level off until the successor to the Wii is released

Re: Game Boy 20th Anniversary Special

Stevie

Donkey Kong Land on the yellow cartridge, Kirbys Dream World, Warioland and that motorbike game with the loop the loops (I can't remember the name) were my favourites.

Edit: The motorbike game is Motorcross Maniacs - Still the best motorcross game i've played to this day

Re: Interviews: Driift Mania - Konami

Stevie

@E-160 Feraligatr - I said first Wiiware driving game

(Doh, I assumed from reading this question - Nlife: Konami’s European studio is known for making mobile phone games. Was it a big change to develop a game for WiiWare? that it was their first, guess i should do more research next time, you know what they say about assumption being the mother of all flip-ups)

Re: La-Mulana Coming to WiiWare

Stevie

"if there is a man there is also a woman, you must not use weapons inside the woman" - A important lesson not just for this game but life in general.

Re: Interviews: Tales of Monkey Island - Telltale Games

Stevie

I must admit i am not a massive fan of how the character's translated to the new versions, especially what they did to Guybrush's hair, but as the main aspects, ie storyline and gameplay are as fun as ever i can overlook this, however if given the option i would choose the old style graphics over the new.

Re: Interviews: Tales of Monkey Island - Telltale Games

Stevie

Really looking forward to this. I have been a fan of the Monkey Island games since the Amiga days and thought the series was dead and buried. Now all I ask is that the original Monkey Island games come out on the Wii, either VC or a compilation full disk release.
