@Anti-Matter I was responding to someone. I personally don’t think there’s anything wrong with the concept at all and have no qualms about being silly. I think it’s a bit pricey but I might just splurge so me and my daughter can play together and be silly.

@Fred13 ugh all horrible decisions made by Nintendo. Let’s hope they don’t think they’ll get a pass because it’s aimed at kids. These games better have an acceptable level of substance.

@Fred13 thanks for explaining. Totally agree, it is a wide open sea at this point. I’d have to hope it’ll be somewhere in between the two. I mean it isn’t ready to go now so who knows what the final product will include. Project giant robot I really hope is more substance than just smashing a few cities up.

@Fred13 haha I agree with you. I think everything is overpriced, I live in Canada it is overpriced. But what do you mean by “just a guess”? The pricing structure has been confirmed has it not?

@rjejr had they taken suggestive angles or not shown the tv at all then I’d see your point. But it seems the commercial deliberately pulls out to clarify that this is being displayed on your tv so there’s no confusion. Sure there may be a select few who misunderstand because they’re unfamiliar with the product but what parent wants their kid thrashing about with a $400 device strapped to their forehead anyways. I’m sure the disappointment will fade quickly when they realize that haha

@ThanosReXXX also the fact this is for kids. It may seem silly for you yourself to put a cardboard cutout on your head and pretend it’s a visor, but a 6 year old kid would love that @rjejr. Why just play pirates when you can play pirates and wear a pirate hat.

@rjejr I didn’t really get the impression the robot game was meant to be played with the switch docked in the visor...that makes very little sense. It’s clearly displayed on a tv in the ad isn’t it? Just watched it. It definitely displays it on a tv? If people don’t have the common sense to put the fact that it can’t simultaneously be in the visor and on your tv you kinda deserve the disappointment.

@ThanosReXXX The Last Jedi was a perfect example of this. Well the internet aspect of it. And I agree. Everyone has become very negative as of late. But I don’t believe there’s no good left. The hate seems to be easier to see as well. Where the positive always seems to take a back seat.

@ThanosReXXX it is brilliant. They basically just made a homemade remedy for overpriced VR with bad controls. Something tells me the Nintendo polish will really shine in how these games control as well. The Robot game looked to be 1:1 motion which is really cool. They found an extremely smart way to immerse kids and families into these games. My only real concern is internet backlash if the switch screen gets scratches when mounted in the cardboard. Not sure how many designs are utilizing that. One more point too I’m actually confident these cardboard cut outs are going to be more sturdy than people are giving them credit for. Sure they won’t be invincible and I’m sure some people will find reasons to complain.

It’s a bit overpriced but I think Nintendo’s done it again. This will sell like hot cakes and we all know it will.

@ThanosReXXX nuff of that on the internet already. I just come to nintendolife for civil conversations. My excitement is tepid. On one hand we could get the next big interesting thing from Nintendo or even an Animal Crossing or Pokemon reveal. On the other hand it could be something really lame that Nintendo overly invests in. I always think back to the game awards when Nintendo said they had something to announce and it was just that Cranky Kong would be in Tropical Freeze. I always kind of hold them to that moment because as great as they are, they can be really really out of touch sometimes.

@ThanosReXXX Nintendo is kind of trolling us if you ask me. That Nintendo Direct was a bit of a let down and they must have known it would be after all that hype. Obviously I’m not blaming them for unrealistic fan hype but they posted that Chibi Robot on twitter and they also had that random typo for online services thing the other day. I’m wondering if Nintendo is just bating us until they can just throw everything we’re asking for in our faces.

Kids at heart? Is it just me or is this kind of implying nostalgia aka virtual console?

@azelf I always had that issue with the series too. I’ve enjoyed them and played 1,2, and 3 but only up to a certain point that I determined it had become too tedious. 2 was my favourite because I really got into the world of that one but the Rat King was so difficult that after I beat him I never touched it again.

@Janus1986 call me crazy but does anyone feel like there may be more to come very soon? Maybe a full Nintendo Direct with online services and virtual console?

Have never actually gotten around to playing Bayonetta and I’m really excited. Couldn’t find it on Wii U. Hope it lives up to the hype. I also really hope this upcoming direct announces GameCube VC available now.

I’m really upset this list didn’t have Rogue Squadron. Not only the best Star Wars game ever made, the best GameCube game ever made in my opinion.

@Luna_110 that's really unfortunate to hear. I was unaware and I guess that kind of writes it off. I mean there's a slim possibility of a downport of 2 but highly doubt it. They've really taken a huge step forward.

@Luna_110 do you mean the new one? The original RDR most certainly can run on Switch. In fact it could be improved most likely with a smoother frame rate and some minor graphical improvements.

@GrailUK it kind of depends on the person. A lot of people really enjoy making their own fun online in GTA and the freedom of it. Personally I love rockstars single player experience. Red Dead and Bully come to mind as great single player games and GTA5 is a really well played out story. It kind of has something for everyone so I can't really see someone picking it up and being disappointed unless the grotesque violence is something that might put you off.

@Octane you literally jumped to his defence and are acting like he hasnt been rude, dismissive, arguementative, condescending, and belittling. He also was suggesting that people not be allowed to comment earlier in the comments. Something I was chastised for. I smell favouritism but whatever ban me if you want to for saying this but that's just poor moderating. Pretty ironic that NintendoLife prints an article about how it's something to mull over and we all drop in here to mull over it and have a nice chat but everyone is just dismissing it like crazy and being negative. @Octane fair enough. But I don't find it fair regardless that his comments are just being brushed under the table as debate. Making someone feel small every single time they comment is just as unwelcoming as someone telling another member they're comments are unwelcome. But whatever I took it too far. If the issue was that it's merely a rumour with no base than why didn't he just provide that proof initially instead of continueing to challenge me to answer. He could have simply said here's why it's just a rumour and left it alone instead of 6 or 7 comments in.

But if you read all the comments I was being civil and @MsgBoardGamer kept challenging me for being positive about a possible announcement and using blatantly unrelated comparisons. I didn't comment on @MsgBoardGamer first, he took it upon himself to challenge every single thing I commented on. So why exactly is he not being warned for making the comments section an unfriendly and unwelcoming experience for me? I was merely excited and speculating and he just wouldn't let it go. I also dismissed him in what was intentionally meant to be an over exaggerated response.

@MsgBoardGamer it's more than just a rumour it's a source that has been accurate about Switch announcements on two separate accounts dropping a massive hint at a future announcement of a GTA 5. In fact going out of his way to do so. You're a clear Nintendo hater sitting here argueing with everyone quoting them in your response like it makes you seem smarter to reiterate what someone just said. Gtfo of town. Switch is doing well no matter how much that bothers you and 3rd parties are clearly interested and investing more in the console. @MsgBoardGamer do you even own a Switch? I don't need to provide proof. The current popularity of both says it all. If it's coming to the console which it most likely is why would Nintendo invest in that, why would rockstar invest in that unless it was sure fire to be popular? I feel like Nintendo and rockstar are probably more business savvy than yourself. This article itself has already garnered much interest. LA Noire a much less popular franchise has become a talking point simply because It's making its way to Switch. You're the one who's not providing evidence as to why it wouldn't be popular because you have none other than the fact that you seem to be a hater.

@MsgBoardGamer are you actually comparing "oil-water" to a portable GTA experience on a Nintendo console? Let me clarify for you. Oil-water is not something desired by people. Oil and water separately are, but not together. Nintendo Switch is selling like hot cakes and desirable. GTA always sells like hot cakes and is desirable. GTA on a portable Nintendo console is desirable. See what I did there. You're arguement is mute. You're saying that it may not be popular but why? Just because it's never been done before? If anything that would make it even more popular. In fact a diehard Nintendo fan who only games on Nintendo consoles would be even more so inclined to experience GTA on their brand of choice because they haven't had the opportunity to do so in the past! Should I go on? Do you maybe want to take a seat and have a sip of oil water?

@MsgBoardGamer are you unaware of the popularity of Switch or GTA 5 currently? What report do I need. It's common sense. A portable handheld device gets GTA 5 which also happens to be the first time Nintendo gets an entry from Grand Theft Auto. And can you tell me where your info and reports are that contradict that it'd be popular just because it's not something Nintendo normally offers? What I'm saying makes a helluva lot more sense than what you are.

@MsgBoardGamer actually no doubt at all that it'd be immensely popular. Tons of people are waiting for more and more reasons to splurge on a Switch and that's just another reason added to the pile. It doesn't matter if it's not necessarily something that's been available to Nintendo fans before. Portability is a huge selling point! HUGE! And let's face it Switch isn't just appealing to die hard Nintendo fans.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE let's be happy it's on Switch at all. Maybe there graphics engine doesn't support hard locked resolution swaps. And at this point we really don't know for sure what the difference is docked and undocked. The graphics may get a boost, all we know for now is that frames and resolution don't get a boost.

@link3710 there is literally zero chance of that happening. Red dead redemption 30 FPS, GTA 5 30 FPS, la noire 30 FPS, bully 30 FPS. Remastered La Noire 30fps across the board. Unless we're talking games that have cartoon graphics or low grade graphics effects you're never going to achieve 60 FPS on any current gen consoles.

@BLP_Software it's not even close to unplayable. It's a stupid statement to discard it simply because it's not 60 FPS. Most console games are running at 30 FPS currently and these band wagon hoppers are only clamouring on about it because they heard it's 60 FPS on the other consoles. I'd be willing to bet most people didn't even know it was 60 FPS on consoles until this was announced, in fact I didn't actually know it was 60 FPS on consoles.

@Rayquaza2510 zero logic to that statement. I doubt it'll run 60 FPS docked. Even at 720. Everyone needs to calm down about 60 FPS though. Xbox one and PS4 barely have any games that run at 60 FPS and most games nowadays are 30. So those acting all pampered are out to lunch or PC master races trying to hate on the Switch.
