Re: Video: Zelda: Breath of the Wild's Development Team Talk Over Their Favourite Moments

SleeplessKnight

So many great moments in this game thus far, but one of my favorites was when I threw a round bomb at a group of Bokoblins but it didn't quite roll close enough. So I moved closer to them so they'd spot me, then ran thinking I would remote-detonate the bomb once they got close enough. Instead one of the Bokoblin kicked the bomb at me soccer-style and it blew up and killed me lol! And normally I'd be mad that I died but I was like "That's pretty freakin cool!"

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Switch Has Started Well - Now the Real Challenge Begins

Nintendo is riding the wave of positivity and enthusiasm for their brand as of late. It started with Pokemon Go (even though they didn't make or market the game), then came the NES Classic, Super Mario Run and now the Switch.

The Switch is an awesome little piece of kit and delivers on the promise of a hybrid home/portable console. But it needs work. First and foremost, the eShop needs Virtual Console games and soon! The system needs apps like Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, a web browser and some sort of Miiverse-like community (I'd settle for just good old Miiverse). Plus they need to reveal their plans and pricing structure for their online network. The peripheral prices need to all come down a bit too. Obviously the game library needs to grow much bigger and soon as well.

As for 3rd party support, that's a tough topic. Some 3rd parties are simply waiting to see how well the system sells before committing to it. Other's games are just too graphically intensive and require better specs (Mass Effect Andromeda, Red Dead 2 etc.) than the Switch has to run decently. It'll be an interesting next 4 to 5 years for the Switch but I can see it easily tripling or even quadrupling Wii U's lifetime sales and that would be a major success for Nintendo.

Re: Nintendo Has Reportedly Sold 1.5 Million Switch Consoles Worldwide

@foobarbaz I agree with you mostly. If it helps, I have 2 friends who are diehard Xbox and PlayStation fans who picked up a Switch at launch. Neither of them are very big Zelda fans like me. I think the "gimmick" or the "hook" of the hybrid home/portable console is why they bought the Switch more than anything. This is why there's no doubt in my mind the Switch will easily triple, if not quadruple Wii U sales in it's lifetime. It already has better marketing and a much better vibe around it than the Wii U had at launch. I don't think it'll sell Wii numbers but 50 million isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Re: Here's Why Nintendo Switch Games Cost More Than Those For Other Consoles

SleeplessKnight

It stands to reason. All Switch games are just flash memory chips, no different than the cards you buy for your digital cameras, Wii U, 3DS and...well...Switch too. When you look at the store, the 8 GB card costs more than the 4 GB, the 12 GB more than the 8 GB etc. So naturally this is also reflected in the cost of physical Switch games too. I'm sure it will all come down in cost fairly soon.

Re: Guide: The Best Nintendo Switch Micro SD Cards

SleeplessKnight

I ended up going with a Kingston 64 GB (4K2K, 90 MB/s R, 80 MB/s W) Micro SDXC card for $45.00 (Canadian). Since I'll be mostly buying the physical copies, this should last me quite a while. I found it was the best bang for the buck as far as size and read/write speed.
