Re: Nintendo Will Remove Smash Bros. Ultimate's Offensive Depiction Of Native Americans

SilverSaturn64

The context of the original game is understandably offensive and there is a spirit within Super Smash Bros Ultimate of the game which depicts a cowboy hitting an angry native american with a hammer. I can understand why that's offensive.

What I DON'T understand is why THE FEATHER is what people are upset about. Or the loincloth, etc for that matter. This is historically accurate. Native Americans wore loincloths and feathers. So if you're offended by that, then you seem to be ashamed of your own heritage.

On the bright side, this change doesn't make the Game & Watch game reference ENTIRELY inaccurate, as in Game & Watch Gallery 4 (Game & Watch Gallery Advance in PAL regions), the Game & Watch version of "Fire Attack" depicted the Native Americans with this same change. No feathers or clothing.
