Re: E3 2016: How The Sin of Getting Lost Has Been Pardoned in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

You know what would be a cool game mechanic that could prevent players getting lost? You know how in Game of Thrones/ASOIAF some people are wargs and have the ability to "jump in the skins of animals". Maybe Link can have an ability like that with an eagle, or some other bird. That way, if you get lost, you can just fly up and see the world from a bird's eye view.

Not to mention that flying would be fun in itself!

Most of these "demands" aren't negative at all. In fact, it opens up the system to a bigger audience.

Also, selling EA sports titles in bundles with the console seems like a great idea. That'll help solve EA's problem of not selling enough copies on previous Nintendo systems while at the same time potentially grabbing some new fans. And in the end, if you don't care for sports games, buy another bundle. There's no negatives in this situation.

@shani Turn based rpgs provide a great mental game for the player. It involves methodically planning out your moves, but not just your next move. As you get deeper in the game, you've gotta plan out far in advance and have multiple contingency plans. You end up selecting attacks to learn that suit you and your playstyle. Many rpgs are also known for their charming stories and presentation (although these factors aren't exclusive to them).

@shani Can't say I agree with you about turn based rpgs. I grew up on them, and still love them. Without thinking too hard, Pokemon comes to mind as a popular and current turn based RPG. Plus, looking through these comments, most people are hoping this Paper Mario game returns to those traditional elements.

Anyways, I'll be sure to purchase this one no matter what direction it takes. I loved Super Paper Mario, but never played it predecessors, although I'm sure I'd love them.

One hope I do have is that they didn't get lazy with the visuals, and used the Wii U's power to actually make the game feel like it's made from paper.

@SBandy I never downloaded much on the Wii, but I've been quite active on my Wii U. I would hate to lose those games or be forced to purchase them again. Hopefully MyNintendo( I think that's what the new loyalty service is called) will correct that. After all, I recall a chart they showed off in a Direct that suggested it would connect in some way with the Wii U, 3ds, NX, and even smartphones.

As weird as amiibo tap was, it did get me thinking. What if full games came preloaded on the amiibo itself. If for example, you bought a Ness amiibo, you get Earthbound, or if you bought a Link amiibo, you get the original Legend of Zelda. They could even release different variants of characters that come with different games (ie one Mario amiibo would get you Super Mario Bros. 3 and a different looking Mario, maybe in another position or art style, would get you Super Mario World). It would seem like a great way to carry amiibo forward to the NX generation.

Re: The 3DS Virtual Console Pokémon Titles Won't Support Restore Points

@Dakt You could save anywhere, but you could never save during a battle. I don't mind this at all actually. I've found that restore points kinda ruin the game anyway. Back when I was playing EarthBound on VC, I made sure to save the game the good old fashioned way and begin playing from the title screen. It really added to the experience.
