Nintendo has definitely gotten carried away with local-only co-op. Most people can't do local, and have distant friends they want to spend time with--what about all of them?
I think the real problem here is that the Wii U eShop is a mess. Period. You go on the 3DS eShop and you can scroll through different collections of games, all evenly spaced and sized, one-by-one. You go on the Wii U eShop and there are super-flashy, randomly-sized panels everywhere.
If you don't see a game you like in that seizure-inducing jamboree, you will probably never see it.
Yokai Watch is, like, the fastest- and best-selling game that came out of absolutely nowhere and, like, still nobody over here knows anything about it.
Can anyone else not stand that CONSTANT update reminder after pressing the Home button? Like, Wii Sports Club! I just played you so you'd STOP doing that! And now look what you've done!
That's a really cool game concept. The animations could use some weight/momentum and the graphics more style/texture, but it is a work in progress. I do hope the gameplay... delivers.
"Another attendee hit on an equally creative technique, assembling a short, squat, supremely stable robot, and ramming into opponents at the kneecaps to bring them tumbling down."

I do hope this becomes a commercial game. I don't get the hate for it. Maybe if it had plumbers and fairies...
This is a real insult to what past Yugioh video games have been. It's great that all cards are unlocked from the start, but the selection only goes up to Shadow Specters, which is at least 2-3 sets behind. Add the lack of DLC and shocking absence of multiplayer and this is a big, big disappointment.
The story mode sounds fun, but Konami is trying to charge full-price for this and it's download-only, so I'm never going to find this in the bargain bin...
I did not expect such silly questions from a Japanese shareholding meeting. But I, too, would like to see Miyamoto and Iwata trekking through the Sahara and Amazon together.
@SavoirFaire Were you keeping up with current events back in 2006/2007? People actually were going nuts for Wii Sports. It's just that a lot of the clueless non-gaming folks who bought it for Wii Sports didn't buy much else. The Wii was a huge craze but those kinds of people viewed it more as a plug-and-play thing without an understanding of how consoles actually work.
... Those are also the people who aren't buying the Wii U because they don't know it's a new system. Technically their fault, but still also Nintendo's goof for that name.
@HappyHappyist That's because Korra IS an immature teenager. Just like Aang was so often an immature and naive little kid. Take off your nostalgia goggles. Korra isn't 100% moral and lovable, but she doesn't have to be as long as she remains a dynamic character.
And make sure you tune in tomorrow night for the premiere of Book 3!!! I'm a crazy Korra fan and I can't wait to fangirl all over this game.
(And for those who don't like Korra... quit being butthurt that it goes in a different direction from the original series and you'll see how great it is.)
I took a friend and made friends with the people next to me in line and talked about games, of course. And attacked my Streetpasses. As usual, I won best dressed by a mile with a vest and bowtie so it wasn't very difficult to make friends.
And the four minutes were totally worth it. I won both matches with my Final Smash and nabbed every goody from the swag table.
Hopefully there will be way, WAY more locations next time, because they really underestimated the turnout.
@DaemonSword ... I thought the clearly backward logic would obviate the use of satire as criticism of Ubisoft's claim. Next time I will use [sarcasm] tags...
"Bloody Fate"? Well, I can't single this out as long as there are so many other generic angels/demons/guns/bewbz animes out there... Bayonetta may be a bit too fantasy dudebro for my tastes.
It's a shame my Wii Fit Meter grew legs and ran away so long ago...
@ModestFan93 I've seen the bundle at Best Buy. Although if you're going to access something every day, the disc version is going to make things a hundred times less convenient. I can only recommend downloading this.
The Wii U costs way too much!!! The PS4 and Xbox One are just fine, though. I'm pretty sure they're already half the price of the Wii U, so the Wii U's price must be the problem here.
@Captain_Gonru The brightness of the Wii Remote's LED tells you its battery level. You can also check battery levels by hitting the Home button. And there IS an on-screen icon in Skyward Sword for when your battery is low. And that icon does not go away during cutscenes.
My argument? Miis are a key part of Nintendo's history and an invaluable aspect of their modern image. That's why they deserve a part in Smash Bros.
And if you don't like them, don't use them. Same as you've done with every other Smash game: I really doubt there's ever been anyone who's loved every character of every Smash game.
Oh, North Americans, quit complaining! We get more sales and all of our games are cheaper than all of everyone else's games, plus we can download games from Club Nintendo. When Europe gets a promotion NA doesn't, it's usually because Nintendo isn't as popular in Europe and needs the boost there.
That's a tad disappointing, how it only saves data for one game. This reminds me of how you can save data into a Wii Remote... but only for one game at a time.
I'm really surprised at how people's interest in Splatoon is actually genuine. It's VERY different from anything Nintendo's ever made and seems like it would be really easy to hate on.
My vote goes to Smash Bros. for Palutena and going all-out in giving Mii characters 3 styles and 36 special moves!
Including the entire first game for free--and on the same disc!--makes this package MUCH more appealing, especially considering that so few of us have played the original.
