@Mickeymac I actually quite like the movie, which surprised me as I'm not a real anime connoisseur. Its plodding pace worked very well in unraveling the truth behind the at first enigmatic characters. It is very much an adult-oriented film despite featuring a lead cast of mainly kids.
It's a shame the Japanese books the movie was based on have never been translated.
Back to the game: It's one of the few third-party games that's on my watch-list. I really do hope it'll turn out well.
Actually, it looks like it might be for me a much more enjoyable game than Phantom Hourglass was. Zelda as a semi-playable character (albeit in a big tin armor) is a pretty neat idea. Good to see Nintendo trying out some new things with the franchise for a change.
Actually, I quite like the sound of reduced battle modes as I've found any other than the original one pretty superfluous or downright boring and pointless.
Yes, I definitely prefer back to basics as it removes a lot of the dumb gimmicks that keep getting added on over the years. I might just get this.
It's from the very same developers as Metroid Prime Pinball, so I'm expecting this to be pretty good if not better. Time to spend some of those extra DSiWare points I haven't had use for until now.
3 lead guitar co-op? 3 drum sets? What's the effing point? Seriously, all I notice is silly unnecessary features being added to Guitar Hero, while instead of properly updating their games' online music catalog Activision needs a new game for pretty much everything. It's getting beyond stupid now, not to mention the increasingly ridiculous amount of blatant advertising displayed in those games. No, thanks.
Bleh. I do just fine with Rock Band 2. It does everything I want and it has an ever-increasing music catalog. I really don't see a need for any other game of its type.
I'm pretty sure they intentionally left out RE2 from the first UC title just so they could make this game. It's just good business sense.
Yet I don't know whether I'll actually bother picking this one up. Although UC was fun and all and as much as I love rail shooters, I would have much preferred a proper RE game. I doubt any type of this game will ever topple House of the Dead in my book. CarnEvil came close, but I doubt we'll ever see that franchise on home consoles especially considering the state of Midway today.
I'll give this a whirl simply because it's Monkey Island. Not expecting anything awe-inspiring though.
The Longest Journey still remains as my favorite adventure game of all time, and I very much doubt that it'll ever be dislodged from its position. It's too bad that its sequel Dreamfall was quite the disappointment. I doubt we'll ever get to see the third part of this supposed trilogy.
Hm, apparently my crappy photos have made their rounds on the far reaches of the internet, as has been pointed out to me by an acquaintance of mine from another site I frequent. Who'd a thunk it!
For those interested to see what the new game looks like, courtesy of the latest Nintendo Power. (crappy photos I took, I know) It sure reminds me of some Amiga classics I played a long time ago. Not at all a bad thing. It's not due until the end of the year, but it's definitely something to look forward to.
I can heartily agree with the score. It's a decent game, but certainly nothing earth-shattering. I didn't really expect it to be either.
Customizable controls are great and all, but aside from the dead zone and look configuration the default is plenty good enough for me. I did try moving some actions around, but they were noticeably awkward to perform then so I switched it back.
I've watched one of the later episodes before I knew it actually was a mini web-series. From what I've seen it's very well done. A bit weird, but good. Eventually, I'll get around to watching the entire series.
Definitely one of my favorite DS games. It's just a great portable version of the Worms I know and love. Being able to still play it in hotseat multiplay by passing around the system is also nice.
I keep seeing it around. I'm bound to eventually pick this one up, one of these days. Pac-Man and Dig Dug will probably get the most play, but I'll definitely be checking out the other titles as well.
Yes, they might be a bit on the shallow side, but that is exactly what makes them great for a portable device. If you only have a few minutes to play this fits the bill quite nicely.
It's really all about fixing their craptacular server(s). As of right now they're not in great shape. I'm having more fun playing Water Warfare in multi.
It's merely one of the (awfully) dubbed promo shorts. Once again, the Japanese original seemed much more genuine. You could always watch the subbed version instead. Anyway, here's a more informative trailer from last year's TGS.
Infinite Space is the only Platinum Games's game that I've been looking forward to, so far.
@Josh "I just wish Nintendo would lower their prices every once in a while Still 35 dollars where I live and I think it's that way on Amazon to."
While this might be good for other games, it'd be stupid to do so for this one. MK DS is one of their longest best-selling games for the DS. The great thing about that is that the number of online players doesn't dwindle like in most other games.
@RaccoonMario "My problem with the game is it didn't have that same "magic" that Ocarina of Time always had associated with it, like when you first stepped onto Hyrule Field, and gasped a little in awe."
Hm. All i remember of it was how desolate it seemed. That said, I didn't play that one until the VC release, so it doesn't get any extra nostalgia points from me.
I must say I've actually thoroughly enjoyed Twilight Princess. Even with retreading some old ground it made the adventure grander in scale than ever before. Sure it was a tad bit easy but I had good fun with it. Frankly, it's my favorite Zelda game.
Am I the only one who thought the gameplay wasn't exactly smooth? It looked like the graphics chugged a bit at certain spots. At least it looks better than the relatively boring original. Still not all that interested.
Ah, the last Art Style game. Let's hope the other three out in EU won't be held back for long for a NA release. I really want to play around with Code and Kubos.
If only the in-game characters didn't look like little kids. The whole chibi style never appealed to me in the slightest. As long as this turns out well I may overlook that misgiving.
Frankly, I think the browser shouldn't be even included in the list. It's the same when it comes to saying "Hey, look! Wii Sports sold that many copies!" in NA. Well, whoop-dee-f******-do! It was a freebie, too!
"...people complaining about the high price of Five Dollars. And I thought I was tight with my money!"
No kidding. Every now and again I browse through the app store catalog for the heck of it - I may get an iPod Touch eventually; probably when it gets its next update - and it is fairly common to see those kind of comments for games selling for more than two dollars. How much again did they pay for their fancy toy? Spoiled brats.
150 is not exactly what I call a wealth of puzzles, but I suppose it's an okay deal for five bucks. Anyway, I already have Gameloft's Platinum Sudoku for DS. The play there is practically endless, as it features an algorithm to create puzzles, once you run out of pre-set ones, which are plentiful as is.
If another DSiWare Sudoku title were to be made with such an algorithm then I'd be interested.
I wouldn't expect much more than seeing your and your buddies statistics as far as online features are concerned. That said, I'm really looking forward to this one. I'm glad they included bowling again, since that was the only part of Wii Sports which had staying power for me - with the added benefit of WMP it should be even better. There are definitely plenty more activities to keep one engaged this time around. I would be surprised if this one didn't become yet another Nintendo chart-buster.
@Cheezy: As mentioned in the review it isn't a carbon copy of the previous title. The gameplay changes which have been introduced here make for a somewhat different experience. If you liked the former you should enjoy this as well. Actually, I like this version better than MvDK2.
That's too bad. The sequel had even more variety of fake retro goodness. It might be the first game worth importing for me, although without knowledge of kanji figuring out all goals and secret codes could be a little tough.

Re: Nintendo Download: 14 December 2009 (North America)
Bejeweled Blitz is good fun, even if it's only Classic mode. That's all I need though.
Re: Nintendo Download: Pokémon, Whips, Fighters, Bowling Balls, Robots, Intersections and Demos (US)
Good to see Indy finally show up. I wonder if that means that we might see The Infernal Machine as well then.
How about the original Star Wars arcade game, Lucasarts? That'd be even better!

Pinball Pulse: The Ancients Beckon is a terrific game! A must get for any pinball lover.

Re: Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming Coming to DS in August
Just to rub some more salt into that wound: Rune Factory 3 is already on track for release in Japan later this year.
Re: Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming Coming to DS in August
Actually, it's the second Harvest Moon puzzle game. Puzzle de Harvest Moon came before it and it was given some abysmal reviews.

Re: Capcom Ships 1 Million Copies of Monster Hunter 3
It's not a matter of if but when we'll see Monster Hunter 3 here in the west. Capcom has already stated that it'll be released here.

Bleh. I do just fine with Rock Band 2. It does everything I want and it has an ever-increasing music catalog. I really don't see a need for any other game of its type.

Interesting.
Re: The Three Musketeers: One for All! Coming to North America on Monday
Judging from the trailer it does look quite promising.

Re: Review: A Little Bit of... Puzzle League (DSiWare)
Just because you didn't like it doesn't mean others will feel the same way. Not every game is for every gamer, regardless of genre.
Re: Take on Doc Louis in a Club Nintendo Exclusive Punch-Out!! Game
Meh. A one-character Punch-Out!! game? No, thanks. The hat has a much greater longevity. I'll go with that.

Re: PopCap Confirms Wii, DSi Support
I wouldn't mind seeing something like Bejeweled 2/Twist and Rocket Mania for DSiWare.

Rainbow Islands is considered to be a (very) indirect sequel to Bubble Bobble. Don't ask. I never quite got that either.

Another perfect fit for DSiWare. I'll definitely be snapping up some of these once they get NA releases.

"MKWii is the worst, since it provides more of a frustration" (fixed)
Seriously, you think a plentitude of items floating around, constantly harassing you, is a fun challenge? No, thanks.
Re: Renegade Kid's Moon Finally Getting UK Release
It's a decent game, but I liked Dementium better even with its shortcomings. Looking forward to Dementium 2.

Re: Car Jack Streets Coming To DSiWare?
Chinatown Wars was the first GTA I've enjoyed since the original two games. I just was never sold on these full-on 3D titles.
Re: High Voltage: Multiplatform Gladiator A.D. And Grinder? Sure, Why Not?
I'd think Gladiator would actually be pretty cool with a beefier machine, although if it includes WMP like I expect it might maybe not as much.

Re: Upcoming DS Titles Get Dates
Ooh, ooh! I want me some Style Savvy!
I'll be all over Mario&Luigi, Professor Layton, and Picross. WarioWare DIY looks interesting, but I'd have to read actual user impressions.
