Re: Pokémon Shuffle Hits One Million Downloads

@aaronsullivan I read the blurb for 10000000 and thought it sounded awful, then watched a random youtube vid and thought it looked kinda fun, then got it on Steam for fairly cheap and was hooked for a good while ;p

Hadn't heard of Dungeon Raid but a quick look makes it look pretty similar to 10000000, might grab it one day if I'm bored. Thanks for informing me of it's existence ;p

I'm genuinely curious how much profit they're gonna get for this. Making the actual game can't have cost much unless they were insane and threw a 50 person team at it for 6 months or something.

They can't need that many people to buy stuff for every purchase afterwards to be pure profit.

Personally I got bored of this pretty sharpish so doubt I'll go back and definitely won't be paying for anything. Only Match 3 game type thing that ever gripped me was 10000000.

Meh, worst week in recent memory for me :/

May grab Tengami for cheap if I'm bored and that's it. Might do a bit of research on those nes games and see if they're any good though, not even heard of either of em.

@Bass_X0 I see what you're saying, but I see it like this. If the list of good and bad points was say... as long as your comment, it takes what, 10 seconds max to read?

Skimming a quick summary would obviously take longer to read than some random number but you're also getting a hell of a lot more detailed info than "5/10" which could mean a few different things depending on you and the reviewer. If a number score meant the same thing to every single person then I would more than likely agree with ya.

Can't think of anyway to let a person know in a list what to expect without using numbers other than saying Good, Average or Bad though... which isn't exactly ideal either ;p

Re: Poll: Do Video Game Reviews Need To Have A Score?

@Bass_X0 I don't think a list of scores is particularly important. If I'm interested in whether a game is good or not I'd read more than just some random number. I'd just have a mouse over link that brings up the summary paragraph or something and list em alphabetically or by date etc. If there weren't so many people who just ignore games under a certain number then a score would be fine.

This is obviously just one guy's opinion though. shrug

Re: Poll: Do Video Game Reviews Need To Have A Score?

I'd get rid of the scores altogether personally. The values can be too different depending on the person reviewing or reading the review. Like for me, a 5 would be average but most sites (and a hell of a lot of people) seem to see a 5 as awful.

A decent summary paragraph at the end or a list of pluses and negatives at the end with a short summary is far better.

Well... if I didn't buy Toki Tori and Rush the other day I'd probably grab them...

Other than that it's a pretty poor week for me. Chariot is a tad pricey for my stinginess at the mo, I'll be playing my huge back log while waiting for a price drop methinks.

Meh. Bit of a crappy week for me personally. Had Cap'n Toad for days and I'm not buying another Fire Emblem til I finish the other one. Not interested in anything else (or already have them).

Still waiting on the Castelvania games tbh...

Re: Review: Xeodrifter (3DS eShop)

I was looking forward to this but the shortness has kinda dulled my interest tbh.

I'll probably buy this on PC when it's cheap rather than wait 700 years for it to appear on EU 3DS eshop now. Pity :/
