Re: Review: Alien Crush Returns (WiiWare)

@thewiirocks: Hey, should I get the Gottlieb collection or wait til Williams is released here? I like the look of the Williams one.

Also, does anyone know how to get into the bonus round on table 1 in AC Returns after you've beaten it once?

Re: Lords of Thunder

Downloaded it today. Have to say I'm impressed. It's just shot to the top of my favourite shooters along with Gradius 3, R-Type 3 and Soldier Blade.
@Jon: The fact that it's tough should add stars to the score! 7 stars I say!

Re: OFLC Update: M.U.S.H.A and More

Outrunner

@Devastator: The Saturn is apparently very hard to emulate because of the dual processors. I think there are other factors too. I would love to have NiGHTS on my Wii though. As well as the Panzer Dragoon games and Shining Force 3.
I wish there were some more Mega drive games from other developers. We're still waiting for Rocket Knight Adventures.

Re: Nebulus

Am in 2 minds of whether to get this... I love C64 but it looks a bit... meh.

Re: Tetris Party

Outrunner

I just downloaded it. I hate it when you're winning an online match and the other player quits. They should dock them points or something.
Anyway, it does seem to let you twist your block after it's touched down for a bit, but then it locks into place. Not quite infinate spin but still...

Edit: Yeah this version of Tetris is fun. I'm really enjoying it. It was worth the download.

Aw cool! Thanks Mayhem. Yeah I remember getting the one with Rick Dangerous awhile afterwards.
Just looked at your scans there. Yeah the names definately ring a bell. Power Play and Fun Play. That one was red and the Flimbo's Quest one was black.

Re: Toki Tori Invades Japan

Brilliant game. I hope it gets the recognition it deserves over there. This reminds me that I haven't completed it though. Must get it back on my channels...

Re: Kaasa Interview - Commodore 64 on Virtual Console

My C64 didn't have a tape deck. I was only wee so didn't know much about it other than that I had 2 carts for it, both with 4 games each. The first one had Fiendish Freddy's Big Top o' Fun, a Soccer game, Flimbo's Quest (my fave), and Klax. The other one which was on a red cart had another Soccer game, Rick Dangerous, a skateboarding game, Stunt Car Racer I think and Dizzy's Fast Food. Oh wait, that's five games... Aw man the memories...

Re: Kaasa Interview - Commodore 64 on Virtual Console

When I saw "Flimbo's Quest" mentioned I nearly fell off my chair. Lol. Hope it makes it to VC eventually as that was a childhood favourite of mine. I loved Rick Dangerous too.
Were any of the Dizzy adventure games ever available on C64? I can't remember. I'd love to play one of those.

Re: Tetris Party

Outrunner

Really??? Awesome!!! Definately getting this then. Tetris DS had infinite spin and it ruined it for me. Cheers Dazza.

Re: Space Harrier

Outrunner

I deleted my last comment because after spending a good few hours on this I've actually grown to like it. (The pal version is very slow however...). I still wish we'd gotten the TG-16 version but this will have to do. And being a Space Harrier fan how could I not download this? I just hope Sega pull a Street Fighter and upload other versions...

Re: Review: World of Goo (WiiWare)

Wish it was on Wiiware in Europe. I don't see myself buying this at retail... How much more expensive will it be I wonder and just how much extra content are we talking...

Re: Treasure: Buy Dynamite Headdy, You Fools

Outrunner

@whalleywhat: I don't think Headdy is a weak effort at all. I think it's a solid, well rounded and wacky little platformer with loads of quirks. There's never a boring moment in it. Each level has something different and the gameplay style even changes around (some of my favourite levels are the shooter stages). Not to mention it has some of the best music in any game on the Mega Drive. Treasure are one of the only developers that actually made the MD sound better than most Snes efforts. The boss themes are particularly good. Oh and speaking of bosses, the ones in this game are awesome!

Re: Mega Man 3

Outrunner

I have the X remake on PSP but would LOVE to get the original on VC. I only had Sega consoles back then so I missed out on all this stuff.

Re: Treasure: Buy Dynamite Headdy, You Fools

Outrunner

Headdy is my favourite Treasure game. I played it all the time when I was wee and it was an instant download on VC. You people who have overlooked it don't know what you're missing.
On the other hand, I totally agree with the 50/60hz thing. It shouldn't be happening in this day and age... sort it out Nintendo!
